• USB keyboard and mouse no longer work after motherboard change

  I recently changed my motherboard for an ASUS maximus VI Impact, keeping all the other components of the same with the hope of making a generation m - ITX. Now when I turn on the windows machine starts normally, but on the home screen when I type my password to connect, the keyboard and mouse seem to lose the power and stop working.

  I tried all USB ports and think its unlikely a hardware problem as the keyboard and mouse work in Bios menu. Also, I have messed around with heritage and setting USB in the Bios, nothing helps. I have a feeling that I have to install the new drivers of motherboard to enable USB support but I can't do that without logging, and the motherboard doesn't have a PS/2 port as well as rules using a PS/2 keyboard.

  After reading I think it might have something to do with the version of windows installed on the SSD, I'm using (this is a version for windows 7 Home premium 64-bit OEM) and different sources say that this can only be connected to a motherboard. Is it interesting to try to do a clean installation of windows or will it be a waste of time with my current version? My ideas, please help.

  Before you start with the troubleshooting steps, please answer the following questions.

  1. What is the brand and model of the computer?
  2. How do you reinstall Windows on the new motherboard?
  3. Have you received the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) installation DVD?

  The OEM of Windows version depends on the hardware ID. If you change the motherboard of the computer, hardware ID changes and you will not be able to install/work with the version of Windows OEM.

  I would recommend that you connect another keyboard and mouse to the computer and check if it works. If the game different from the mouse and keyboard does not work with the computer, you may want to consider reinstalling Windows. For more information on reinstalling Windows, you can ask the OEM.

  I have a problem with my VM ware / boot camp of activation. I have a Boot Camp partition on my Macbook Pro. I am able to boot the disc using the fusion, but when I try to use Boot Camp coming to the windows activation screen and my keyboard and mouse do not work so I can't press the button to continue. I tried to boot into safe mode on boot camp and the keyboard and mouse are not recognized either. I tried to plug in a keyboard and a USB mouse generic and is not no longer works. I am running XP pro (not OEM version).

  Does anyone have any suggestions on a cure?

  This sounds like it may be more than one Apple, or Microsoft problem. However, my recommendation would be to ensure that the leopard drivers have been properly installed. To install the insert drivers your Leopard installation disc and run the setup.exe if is not autorun. So, make sure you run software updates of the Mac OS to ensure you have the latest version of the Bootcamp drivers.

  I have a Tecra A7 to XP. Once time and a some time to wake up from sleep or hibernation, the keyboard and the Touchpad mode do not work. I can always open a session using the recognition of fingerprints. An external USB mouse and then also works.

  I have to close the session and Re-Log-On using the external mouse to the keyboard and the touchpad works again. Very annoying, especially when you are in a hurry... hehe

  Anyone else has a similar problem? All solutions?

  Have you installed the drivers for your mouse or external keyboard? For example the Logitech drivers?

  Try to uninstall the third-party drivers 3, they may be in conflict with the drivers of Toshiba.

  Check if an error code or error message is listed in the Device Manager.

  After the update to 9.2 today on my Apple TV 4, fast forward and rewind (wash/running finger on the trackpad on the remote) stopped working. Does anyone else have this problem or a solution? I can use my voice to tell Siri skip ahead x minutes, but I really prefer rubbing. I can also always do a jump of 10 sec by clicking the remote on the right side (or left for the rear).

  I understand that after the replacement of the LCD on your x 360 HP that your touchpad is not recognized in Device Manager.
  The touchpad is recognized in the bios? If not, then try reinstalling the cable (both ends) connections and recheck. If the BIOS does not always recognize it, it could be the cable, try to replace it. If it does not appear in the BIOS you can test for a hardware failure. HP Notebook PC - hardware failures (10, 8 Windows) screening
  If the BIOS recognizes, do you have any unknown devices listed in Device Manager?  If so try to remove the unknown device and then scan for hardware changes.

  Please let me know the results.

  Give, it drying time and see if that helps.  If not, chances are although the keyboard has gotten watered (pardon the pun) with some type of short circuit or something and must be replaced.  With laptops, the water passes also through the keyboard to the components below, then it may be fairer than.  Computers many do not like water.

  Try contacting the manufacturer of the computer for advice and assistance.  Most keyboards can be removed amd which may help to speed up the drying or show more obvious shorts or water that you missed.

  In the meantime, you can try to attach a USB keyboard to be able to use the computer.  If they can not will not help (and this test will narrow the magnitude of the problem, if this keyboard works or ID a broader issue, if it's not), then your only real choice is a local reputable computer repair shop (NOT Geek Squad or any like that) to see if something can be done.

I called apple and they told me I should put the laptop to apple repair center I did, but they could not reproduce the error (which is random) so that they could not fix it... Now, what are my options here? Am I stuck with a defective machine I paid 2400 euro?

  Reinstall OS X can be good to rule out a software problem, causing their lack of reaction.  Before we get to that, you can try restarting in safe mode to see if they act even in safe mode.

  Follow these steps to start in safe mode.

  1. Start or restart your Mac.
  2. As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key.
  3. Release the SHIFT key when you see the logo Apple appears on the screen.

  Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning - Apple Support

  If it is the same in safe mode, then you can proceed with reinstalling Mac OS X.

  After have changed the card motherboard and CPU for my dell latitude e6420, my keyboard and trackpad stopped working, there was no hard drive in the system, but external keyboard works and internal system in and trackpad worked perfectly before the changes. is this because the drivers have not been installed or what? or because it's a new motherboard?   This morning when I opened my mac, my keyboard and trackpad were insensitive. The only button that worked was the power button. I shut it down and then instead of open a log in screen, it opened to a screen that was an animation of an external mouse and trackpad.
