  I've been deflecting calls from people who say there is a problem with my computer, claiming they are "Windows technology department.  A woman comes to call.  She said her name was Fiona and his identification number is 1104.  Call back phone number is 1-866-539-8674.  She was very beautiful, but persistent.  I got his information to call her back.  She said that whenever we get on the Internet, some viruses or damage of some sort gets into our computer.  She wanted to go on the computer right then, and she show me all error messages or something like this.  I said my husband was using the computer and I was in the middle of something, which was true.

  Do you know when this problem started?  Try a system restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem started.  Here is the procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/.  Don't forget to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points.  If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two.  NOTE: You will need to re - install any software and updates that you have installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for updates.

  If the system restore does not work, do a startup repair, boot from the disk Installation of Windows Vista genuine (or one that you can borrow from someone) or a recovery disc.  Here is the procedure: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html.  You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Almost immediately after sending the e-mail, another technician called me. Unknowingly, I had all ready filed a dispute with my credit card company. I intend to cancel the service, but I am still concerned by some spyware detected on my computer. What is the best way for me to handle this? How can I get authenic proof that I was definitely scammed and I should report it to the Internet Crime Center? Using my computer for a few basic daily functions, must not be so stressful!  Any constructive guidance would be greatly appreciated!

  Either these so-called "Microsoft" Tech companies want to sell you a worthless software, or remote access to your computer to try to steal your credit card and bank information and also achieve an identity theft on you.

  I don't really know exactly what I did - added to the printer with its IP address and manually the software (added name - I also had a HP update tonight for the printer software, but that only did nothing), then printing I tried and it still would not work.  I used the adjusted IP address, which I found on the dashboard of Verizon. And for some reason, once I put that in manually on the printer, it remained there, even when in desperation I tried to put it back the "detect network" setting. Sorry - but this is not quite logical or in the order.

  Also, I restarted the router, then the printer. Somewhere among all the things I tried, to my amazement, it finally worked! And being impatient that I am, I forced closed and refused to work, so I deleted and got another, and now the progress bar... doesnt move at all. Strangely if it ends after the installation of 2-3 hours without the moving bar at all.

  -So the thought of my problems are solved, I have re - download the Service Pack and once again failed.

  Basically, after I tried all the solutions for the most part they gave me to try to fix the service pack and nothing came. I tried CCleaner and nothing. I'm now desperate beyond this point.

  -Another solution was to do a 'sfc/scannow' in the command prompt, I do it and the report comes with 1 corrupted file.
