Internet wifi signal low while on battery

Hi all, I purchased a DV6 in 2011. I have a weird problem a few days ago. I have usually on the Internet normally on my laptop and everything was fine. But one day, I unplugged my laptop AC adapter and I started to feel very weak wifi internet access. At the moment I thought that something is wrong with my ISP, so I called the. After troubleshooting, they stated that the problem comes from my laptop. At random, I just plugged the laptop AC adapter and everything was fine, I mean worked normally . But I unplugged the AC adapter, the problem came back. So I wanted to know if there is a relationship between the strength of connection wifi and AC/battery adapter. Please help me

Hey thebrave007,

I'm sorry that you run on this issue with the wireless signal.

There is a switch you can change which may help.

1. click on start

2. tap 'power '.

3. click on Power Options

4. click on the link "Change plan settings" next to the plan chosen.

5. click on change advanced power settings

6 expand wireless adapter settings

7. extend the power saving Mode

8 change battery: maximum performance -after you make this change, you will have stronger wireless, but you will notice your battery performance decreases.

Let me know if this is useful or if you have any questions

  • Satellite L775-15 q - low or no WiFi signal

    Hello.

My brand-new Satellite L775-15 q seems to have a huge problem with the WiFi signal. I've studied him a lot and it seems that many new Toshiba models have this problem, which is rather disappointing.

The thing is the signal from the laptop is pretty awful, especially in my room.
To be honest, my room is the furthest way to the router.
But still, we have 3 other laptops in the House: a Toshiba 4 year, a Fujitsu 3 year and a brand new Dell; they all have a perfect, complete, 5-line signal in my room.
Even my horrible cell phone Ericcson has a fairly decent signal from 3 lines.

The new L775-15 q has 1 or 2 lines or most of the time no signal at all.
Even at a distance of 4 meters from the router, it doesn't even have a signal lines full 3 or 4!

The router firmware is up-to-date. I've updated the WLAN drivers and still nothing.
The power settings were already at the maximum.
If 3 more options in these forums do not work.

    Any ideas?
It's a laptop good and I would not return.

Do you use a laptop with battery power or signal strength is too low no matter if you use it on battery or power supply?

After updating my iPhone 6 (9.3.4) the WiFi signal becomes very low! I did everything, but the problem does not stop! I don't a not update my other devices & their very good WiFi signals. Please help me solve this terrible problem...

Here's a tip for the user on the problems of Wi - Fi. Suggest from the top and bottom. Maybe one of them will help you.

    (1) restart you device.

    (2) resetting the network settings: settings > general > reset > reset network settings. Join the network again.

    (3) reboot router/Modem: unplug power for 2 minutes and reconnect. Update the Firmware on the router (support Web site of the manufacturer for a new FW check). Also try different bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and different bandwidths (recommended for 2.4 to 20 MHz bandwidth). Channels 1, 6 or 11 are recommended for 2.4 band.

    (4) change of Google DNS: settings > Wi - Fi > click the network, delete all the numbers under DNS and enter 8.8.8.8 or otherwise 8.8.4.4

    (5) disable the prioritization of device on the router if this feature is available. Also turn off all apps to VPN and retest the Wi - Fi.

    (6) determine if other wireless network devices work well (other iOS devices, Mac, PC).

    (7) try the device on another network, i.e., neighbors, the public coffee house, etc.

    (8) backup and restore the device using iTunes. Try to restore as New first and test it. If ok try to restore the backup (the backup may be corrupted).

    (9) go to the Apple store for the evaluation of the material. The Wi - Fi chip or the antenna could be faulty.

  • Signal low WiFi in the other room with Qosmio X 770

    I have a Qosmio X 770 3D
    Wifi signal problems.
Wired router 62 Mbps when wireless near large router close to 50 Mbit/s. If I go down and he falls down to between 5 and 15 Mbps and loses the signal entirely on covers.

When I try my laptop cheaper in the same circumstances I get 45 Mbps down constantly. Even my wife Notepad Gets the best signal strength.

Channel selection makes no difference, except to make it worst when others use even.
My broadband provider has replaced the router, come home and guarded point out the strengths and wrote its my laptop problems.

The wifi card can be improved for a stronger reception. Moving to the upper range won't work as my other gear use 2.4.

    Any other suggestions please?

    > When I try my laptop cheaper in the same circumstances I get 45 Mbps down constantly. Even my wife Notepad Gets the best signal strength.

Its no matter if the phone was cheap or expensive depend on the intensity of the signal on different topics.
Above all it s is WLan/chip built in Notepad.

So in your case I recommend you to check if a different use WLAN standard like 802.11 B / G or N would make a difference.
I recommend also to check the energy saving settings map WLan.
In the case that the laptop is used on battery, the system can drops down the WLan performance in order to save the battery.
Also an update of the WLan driver can improve performance.

However, as I wrote above: it s still a matter of smart WiFi

  • HP Notebook: Wifi Signal very low after the operating system upgrade

I bought the HP Notebook of month couple back. Due to the corruption of the OS, I had to reinstall the OS. Now, I am faced with two or three weird thigs

1 WiFi signal reception is very low. Even if I'm sitting next to the router, I can only 1 or 2 bars on 5

2 AMD Radeon graphics card is not detected. How do I solve this?

    Model: 15-ac076tx

    Thank you

The answer could be linked to the reason that you had to reistall the OS, why did you have to reinstall the OS?

You can also try the following:

    1. install the driver for both the wireless adapter and the graphics cards from the hp Recovery Manager and restart

(for Recovery Manager, and recover - hardware driver reinstallation - select Driver Manager research - install)

    2. If the Recovery Manager reinstallation does not try to download the same drivers from the hp support site www.support.hp.com and install it and try it.

  • Motorcycle G Dual Sim KitKat 4.4.4 (low WIFI signals)

    Hello

Got the Kitkat 4.4.4 update 3 days back. After updating the device is delay and then more slowly before. And the main question for me atleast is the WIFI signals which are now LOW and SIM network loss.

anyway to get around this? I read on another forum that wiping cache WOULD solve that problem. But I don't want to ROOT my device.

    Should I root?

You don't need to root your device to clean the cache.

  • WiFi signal but no internet connection

I'm at a University in Tianjin, China and having a laptop with Windows 8 Ansus. I have a wifi router and a cable and had internet connection in this place in the past. I have reset the modem to create my network and password.

I see my network identified by the computer but it says 'Limited', and there is no internet connection. I'm sure it's not not to do with the settings on my computer, and I had someone else to confirm. I have a connection when I go into a classroom and find their signal.

What could cause the problem? How can you have a wifi signal but no internet? I invited people to ask the technicians at the school, but nothing has changed. Would it be a they forgot to press the button or something? There is no internet to the block of flats I live but the other parts of the school have.

    Just trying to understand.

    Stephen Hoare-Vance.

    Greetings

The technician of the College gave us a different IP address for the connection. I guess that our block has a separate IP address of other blocks. Apparently the number after the third point is variable; a number any scope is ok. I couldn't communicate avec.115 but can avec.98

I don't know why they changed, but the problem is solved, thank you.

I also learned that when the router is enabled it will connect to the computer and display a signal, even if there is no connection to the internet.

  • Satellite C660 - extremely low WIFI signal strength

I bought a brand new 2 the Satellite C660-7 t and have the following problem:
The strength of the WIFI signal is very bad!

If I am 5 meters from the router, there is a signal strength bar!

On another laptop, I have 5 bars at this distance!
    WLAN is unusable...

The problem also occurs if the power supply is connected, is no energy problem.

Installed the latest driver for Atheros, did not help.
Made a recovery of HARD drive, did not help.

    Help, please!

Have you checked all the WLAN settings?
Did you compare the settings on another laptop?

If possible can test you with another router?

  • Weak WIFI signal

Hi, am currently using an HP Pavilion 2307tx g6 but get really weak wifi signal in my room. Only able to get about 2-3 bars every time while my other laptop can go up to full bars.

Any help/solution would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the HP Forum, Rascal.

Discussion on the theme of the power of the Signal

Buffaloes by themselves may be a little empty of meaning, UNLESS you can interpret the definition of what each 'bar' says.

Signals are affected by the type of router you have - routers are NOT equal.

    • The cheapest router can not not the support required for the performance of your computer's wireless card.

Example: An older router that only supports 802.11 g will not provide faster than 54Mbps - even if you have the best card you can buy in your computer.

    • The opposite can be true as well - a good router cannot provide a better service than the computer's wireless can support.

Example: If the card in your computer is 802.11 g, so even if you have a router capable of speeds of more than 300 Mbps, you can get only 54 Mbps.

Speed and autonomy are limited by the link in the chain.

    • 802.11n is faster than the 'g', but it can also be slowed by the walls, the furniture in metal and other obstructions.
    • Move your equipment, even a few inches, could make the difference to a router 802.11 g

    AND

    • The same might be true for a 802.11n router that has a small antenna (low power)
    • Antennas in routers are NOT equal.  Small antennas in routers fantasies can still match a whimpy router.  You want a router with a 5db antenna 7db (or better if they make these by the time you read this).

Assuming you bought the biggest, baddest, best wireless available for your computer, then you may need to upgrade your router.

    Strength vs. Signal bars

Bars can indicate how things are moving along, or they can cloud the issue - depends on the "bars": which generates the bars, the sensitivity are the bars and you can do a lot in a bar anyway?

You can use another measure: the traction measured in percentages, detection and Signal type:

WirelessNetView v1.50 - wireless network monitoring tool

WirelessNetView works on Windows 7 and Windows 8 - there are a few problems with XP: read reviews of the author.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can try to update / reinstall your Wireless driver.  Help - can be a waste of time.  If you have already done, this new fact will not help - so I don't recommend it.

  • My dilemma - should keep the K1 despite the intensity of the weak wifi signal?

    So here's my story:

I bought Lenovo K1 for many during the period of holiday Office Depot for $299. It was worn and really poor wifi signal strength. I wanted to Exchange, but Office Depot informed me that the K1 had been abandoned, so they gave me a refund. I was really sold on the K1 and thought maybe it was just my camera, so I ended up buying a new K1 on Amazon for about $350. I ran all the updates and I am now on the latest version of the software. Unfortunately, the new tab is range and low resistance. It is little matter where I am. I used it at home, in my office, at the in-laws, and the signal strength is low.

Here's what I've done so far:

-J' tried to leaving my router settings, based on the reading of the various recommendations of various forums-still no luck. (However, still would not help if I'm out and about.)

-J' I download and run Wifi Analyzer, I normally vary between 65-75 dBm while standing within 8 to 20 feet from the router. (Comparable to my HTC Evo, but 15-20 dBM below my laptop at the same place).

-J' used the speed Test from Ookla app - around 5 Mbps down to 2.5 (my colleague was getting up at the same place on his ipad around 20 Mbit/s down and 10Mbps).

I'm at a crossroads now - I really, really like the K1 for most. It was a very good price, I really don't want to spend over $ 400 on a tablet. But since a lot of my use requires internet connection, is it worth keeping?

Or should I just go back, put my money and wait for the Lenovo S1 Tablet out in June-July.

Any comments would be much appreciated!

For what it's worth, my K1 Gets the same results as my Nook Tablet - 12 down and 2-up on TW at home.

Edit: got 18/2 this morning, same place. TW to blame for the lack of consistency.

  • Tecra Z50-A-14 t - bad connection WiFi signal

    In short.

Absolutely the same problem with my new Tecra.
    Stable connection by cable.

Bad connection same 3 5 meters from the router. If the distance is longer, or I use the laptop in another room sometimes it s no link at all.
The card is Intel (R) Dual Band Wireless AC-3160 and that article how I found the link above.

All electronic in the work of the House with no problem, but this piece of garbage to Wi - Fi only the same has even after 3 visits in the repair shop. And that s for new out of the box laptop.

    I really disappointed me.

+ The message was edited: link has been removed - forum rules +.

Hmm. have you noticed the same problem of weak signal using the laptop to the power of the battery as well as connected to the adapter?

My signal low similar knowledge questions may seem due BOF WiFi enabled power saving settings. This setting can be found in the current power plant? Advanced settings

On the other hand, it might be possible that there is something wrong with the WiFi antenna cable. Maybe it is not properly connected to the mini PCI module

In the case of changing the settings would not help you and if your already updated the Wlan to the latest version available, I think that the Toshiba certified maintainer should check the antenna.

  • Poor/little reliable Lenovo P500 wifi signal

Recently, I bought my new Lenovo ideapad p500... and like most of the time. I dealt with some very unstable wireless connections with this machine. Another device, not more than 2 feet of distance and equidistant to the router, a full signal, yet my ideapad Lenovo P500 barely two bars.

I know low wifi signal is the problem for the other known models and I was wondering if this model has also been victim of this problem. I become very angry due to the interruption of the connection, resulting in work stoppage, while everyone has full signal.

    Thank you!

If TI available what is the manufactured by. The router will make the fall speed, right now I have a download speed of 350Mbs/s?

You need to move the router closer to your office or buy a wi - fi Extender and place it in between the router and the desktop.
