iOS 10 - transfer music to iTunes

Since the upgrade, I can't manually transfer music to my iPhone.  I have 20 GB of space, manual transfers are configured on iTunes, the latest version of iTunes, no synchronization of automatic music not selected.  I try to transfer music, but all I get are these greyed options and nothing transfers to the iPhone.

Thoughts?

Hello boujis,.

I understand that you don't see the option to manually manage your music in iTunes on your Mac.  You can check your settings for Apple Music, Music Match and/or iCloud iCloud music library?  If iCloud music library is enabled, you will not see the ability to manage the music when your iPhone is connected to your computer.

Move content from iTunes on your computer to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If you are a member of Apple's music or that you have an iTunes game subscription, you have iCloud as lit library. When you have iCloud that music library is turned on, you cannot manually manage music. You can still manage the videos by following the steps below.

Take care

  • Cannot transfer music from iTunes to the iPod nano.

I can't transfer music from iTunes to my iPod. My laptop has Windows XP and my iPod nano is 6 years old. (I do not know what generation it is). the instructions say to click on "sources" to choose the IPod, but I can't find this option in iTunes.

The latest version of iTunes can be different, so former instructions can be confusing.

There are several ways to load songs on an iPod, including the auto sync and manual loading.  I will describe the method that automatically synchronizes the iPod to a playlist in your iTunes library.  First, you must create a new playlist in your iTunes library and add all the songs you want on the iPod playlist.  You can call iPod songs playlists (or whatever you want).  If you already have a "Favorites" playlist, you can use it.

Then, select the iPod in iTunes (click on its button on the device on the horizontal bar) to show its settings screen in the iTunes window.  The side left (in the sidebar), under settings. Click on music.  Right, parameters of music on the iPod screen.

NOTE: All the songs on the iPod that are not on your iTunes library (on the computer) will be lost.

At the top, check the box to Sync music.  This enables automatic synchronization.  Below, choose the option to synchronize playlists selected, artists, album and genres.  Below, under playlists, search for and select (checkmark) playlists iPod songs you create earlier.  You can select the other items in these lists, if you wish.  When you click apply, iTunes syncs your selection to iPod.

Go ahead, update of the songs on the iPod, update iPod songs playlist in your iTunes (add/remove songs).  The iPod has no need to be connected.  The next time that you connect the iPod (or click sync , if already connected), iTunes automatically updated the iPod with the same changes.  I use this method with my iPod nano, unless I have several playlists (not one) that I sync with my iPod.

  • Transfer music to iTunes from your Windows PC to iMac

Copied from a previous thread to avoid confusion - hope someone can help... (Thanks to Kenichi Watanabe for your help so far...)

I have just bought a new iMac and have been implemented in the air (I installed 12.3.2.35 version). I transferred music from my old PC with a hard disk external.

Now that all the music is there, I tried to play some. Other titles will be read, but some don't. For titles that will not play, I get the speaker icon show against the track for a second or two, but nothing happens. If the other titles in my music are selected, iTunes goes to the next in the list he can play.

None of the securities concerned are grayed out in iTunes. The only thread I can find is that albums appear to be affected, that is, if a piece of the album will not play, then none of the other songs on this album will play.

These files have a file extension (can be hidden preferences Office views)?

You have not posted a link to the original topic (why a new topic?) I can't see the General information on this.

How this music has been configured to play originally?

What was the source of music?

    How did he transfer?

How did you add the files to iTunes on Mac?

  • How can I transfer music from iTunes to a SD card files

Hello, I have a 32 GB micro sd with adapter inserted into the appropriate slot ready to go, and I would like to know how can I transfer a Playlist on it. I know that I can one song at a time, but it's very long and physically trying to move the selection, either on the sd card or on desktop, does not appear to work, so I was wondering if there was another way. Thank you

Go to the playlist, control + a to select all, drag to disk.  You will not be able to read music files from Apple.

  • Transfer music to iTunes from iPod (not an entire library)

I have an iPod with lots of songs.  I have an iMac with very few songs.  Want to take a few songs from iPod and put in iMac.  Why is - complete this impossible without a sync?

If the songs were stolen in a CD which is now sold/stolen/lost/destroyed how to take some of them to the iPod and put them into iTunes library?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you

iTunes sync is a way for iTunes to the iOS device. It is not designed for the synchronization of the device in iTunes. You will need to do this, use a 3rd party utility. See this user CSA advanced for more information. Recover your iTunes from your iPod or an iOS device

  • could not transfer music from itunes to iphone ringtones

I downloaded a song - ring went to my iTunes music.  The length was 30 seconds and I changed the extension to M4R and I stocked up on my desk.  However, whenever I click and drag it to my iPhone tones, nothing happens.  I have Windows 10

It must be that the ringtones in less than 40 seconds, in AAC format (normally represented by .m4a) with a .m4r file extension. Drop the .m4r file into / automatically add to iTunes. If the file is a valid ringtone, it is worth adding to the tones of the library section. If iTunes rejects it then it should move to a folder not added automatically add to iTunes folder. No case, then iTunes can still be regarded as ordinary music.

  • Unable to transfer manually the music to iTunes on iPhone 6s

For the life of me I can't understand what is happening here. I have iTunes on my iMacset to transfer music manually (see screenshot), but when I drag an album to the music from my iPhone it does not sync. It shows that the album is moved so I have no idea of what I'm missing.

You don't have iTunes to synchronize manually. Uncheck "automatically sync when this iPhone is connected". When you plug in your iPhone you then click on the sync button and manually synchronize or drag them to the iPhone, or you can check the box in your Options "Sync only checked songs" and then choose all or some of your songs that you want to synchronize and they will be synchronized when you select the Sync button.

    Good luck

  • Can I transfer music from iPod Nano again iTunes account without losing any content?

I had to have a new hard drive installed on my laptop and lost all the data that was on my old hard drive. I have reloaded iTunes but now it obviously does not show me as having any music out there. I have all my music on my iPod Nano. Can I sync the iPod to download on iTunes for re - record my music?

Since the iTunes library on the new disc is new to the iPod, sync deletes the existing content of the iPod and replace it with the content of the new library (which currently is 'nothing').  By design, iTunes syncing is generally in one direction, from the iTunes library on the computer for iPod (with the exception of songs purchased on iTunes Store).  However, there are methods and third party utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do an Internet search on something as 'ipod transfer music', you should get a few useful links, including a CNET article on the subject.

Once your music files on your new drive, add them to your new iTunes library.  After the confirmation of all your songs are, sync of the iPod as you wish.
