  As long as you use a font with these characters, you could go to Embed and click on the ones you want. Or simply click on all glyphs.

  I opened the PDF in Acrobat Reader, the desktop version and confirmed that your highlight color is set to black and opacity is set to 100%.

  

  I suspect that accidentally set you the highlight color in black by Acrobat Reader for iOS on your iPad Air.  (The default color is yellow).

  To change the highlight color

  1. Open your PDF document in Acrobat Reader for iOS.
  2. Type on the black nail in the document.
  3. Select 'Color'... "in the context menu that appears.
     
  4. Click the color you want in the color scheme.
     

  It can be difficult to see due to the background color of your PDF document.  But you can see that the highlight color has changed and the highlighted text is readable now.

  

  Optionally, you can change its opacity by selecting 'opacity '.... "in step 3 above.

  Acrobat Reader will remember your highlight color choice next time.

  It is not a problem of fonts. It is the problem of the sample text entered by the models.

  The error message means that there is a text field in your book which is still on show at the text included by the model, and you will need to replace this text with your text. This textfield might be hidden behind a picture.

  If you create a preview of the book, such default text is omitted. Have you compared the preview of what you see in iPhoto? Text that shows in iPhoto, but not in the preview will be such default text.

  For example, the section 'Topic of this book' on the flap back in some themes is a default text that should be replaced by your own legend:

  These are not bugs in 10.0.2. They are questions that are specific to your device.

  Reset.

  Reset all settings

  Restore iOS and your backup.

  Restore iOS and configured as a new device.
