iOS 9.3 / iPad2

Hello.

My iPad2 updated on the night of March - 22 and the morning could not activate.

The message said: "your iPad could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try to connect your iPad to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a few minutes. If the problem persists, contact Apple Support at the apple.com/uk/support'.

I waited a few minutes and tried again, then waited a few hours... the same.

Then at an Apple store, and they lied to saying me that it was true, that after the release of the upgrade the servers were busy and that was the only problem.

Then, I searched the forums and found suggestions on the connection to iTunes. They do not work.

The rest of March - 23 was a repetition of the same procedure, with the same result "your iPad could not be activated.

On 24 March, after trying again, I called the apple support. A machine requested the serial number of the unit and several other issues. The call was closed (probably after checking that my problem was the iPad2 and knowing that they do not have a valid answer) then put me to wait for several minutes and later only.

It would be nice to have a response from Apple.

All the answers that I see in all the forums are other users of the iPad. Not a single word of Apple.

Kind regards.

Rafael.

This is because it is a forum for Apple users, not for the Apple technical support team.

Have you tried the recovery mode?

Turn off your unit, then plug it to your computer with the hold home button. Hold down Home button until you see the logo of iTunes on the screen of your device. After that on your computer, you should see the iTunes window saying that your device needs to be restored to factory settings. Click Restore.

  • update to iOS iPad 2 stuck on "checking update". Cannot continue

I have updated iOS on my Ipad2 last night and this morning a pop-up window displays "Check update" with the circle of rotation, then the screen goes to sleep after about 3-5 seconds.  In a loop that never ends.  That's in the same state that it was this morning.

Try to reset the unit: hold the home and power buttons at the same time and continue to hold until the Apple appears (compared to 30 seconds - really). If you see the Apple reset is underway and the Slide to Unlock screen will display shortly. Once it is up, go to settings > general > about and see what is display Version.

    See you soon,.

  • where is 10 IOS for iPad2?

Updated my iPhone but days ago the iPad2 has not been spotted with a new update is available. Whenever I search says my software is up to date?  (9.3.2). are going to stop supporting older devices as Microsoft did with Windows?  That put me off since that's how I started on IOS, since my Windows is not supported without that I have to buy more software, so I bought Apple instead.

I'm afraid that the iPad 2 is not compatible with iOS10. The device is now five years old, and he has had a long run, being compatible with iOS 4 to 9. Ultimately there will always be a point where the material of older devices may not go further.

Not everyone is happy with iOS10 you will see in looking at some of the posts.

You can not downgrade. Apple does not provide a path to downgrade, and older versions of iOS are not validated if you try to install.

  • New version of Skype kills wifi on iPad2 running iOS 4.3.5

I recently updated my iOS 4.3.5 iPad2 and soon afterwards of new version of Skype for iPad is out. I've updated to Skype, and it has become unusable on the iPad. Whenever I run Skype, it kills wifi. I am unable to make calls from Skype. I can leave Skype and I still can't access web pages by using the browser, connect to iTunes or the app store. WiFi shows connected, but I can't access anything on the Internet. Turn on/off wifi, iPad reboot or does not help. Several hours later Internet Access starts working again. I experienced exactly the same problem with another iPad app - balloon Tower defense. My original iPad running a previous version of Skype and iOS 4.3.3 continues to operate correctly. Someone else knows it?

I have solved my problem. It turned out it was my firewall that would blacklist my ipad2 temporarily because of the Skype ports has been probing. Once I added the ipad2 at the permanent whitelist on my firewall, this problem has disappeared.

  • are there problems at ipad2 iOS 9.2 update?

I have an iPad2, and I'm curious to know if anyone has updated his own in iOS 9.2

    faced to problems later?

I want to know before the update since I have faced a lot of problems with iOS 9

My iPad 2 32GB Wifi only bought in early 2012 is running iOS 9.2 without problem. However, make sure that I have a free space on the iPad (almost 20 GB at the moment but more than 5 GB is good. Most of us have garbage on our iPads, that we can do without. See what you can delete or move render space. I found mine had hundreds of great photos and video files that might live better on my Mac with a huge hard drive than on an iPad with limited storage.

I also never make "live" ameioration Via USB, I connect the iPad to Mac where the iPad is saved and connect Mac to the internet with a cable cat5. I do a backup of the iPad before ANY update system, just in case.

  • uppdate iOS 9.3 bricked my iPad2, now what?

    iOS 9.3 COMPLAINT

I've been asked for some time updating the iOS 9.1 on my 2 32 GB iPad for version 9.3.

Apple says that iPad is working well so far and I have had no personal reason to update, but "you should always upgrade to the latest version" for reasons of security...

So I did. After that my iPad asked to connect to iTunes.

So I connected. My options were 'Update' or 'Factory Reset'.

I chose "update" a few times, but all ended in an error message (different every time).

I even tried to update via iTunes updated on several different computers.

So finally, I resorted to a Factory Reset.

The difference is visible is that now, not even my iPad ID present in iTunes when you try to connect.

It seems that the attempt to update totally and completely brick my iPad.

    Suggestions anyone?

EVIL - the _lead_me_to_believe_ just updated, it's just my iPad in brick.

Here's how I see what happened, and what didn't update to inform me.

The first question here was the download (1.33 GB) took an hour to complete with iTunes.

However, after 15-20 minutes the updater had fed up and said something to the effect that he didn't connect to the download server and offered for the update or restore again.

This message is confusing. My computer connects to everything else, so why not Apple download server. Some error messages suggest that the Hosts file needs to be reset. Why? After all, he has not presented a problem before, or for other programs. Another message (1639?) provided that the download is still in progress the idea, '' maybe. '' And it has been.

If I answer the "Connection failed" message by selecting the update again, the download continues, but since it takes an hour to complete the download, try the same the second fails with the message "cannot connect". And even a third update attempt will fail in the same way.

Instead, the update should have told me something to the effect of: "now, waited about fifteen to twenty minutes for the download to complete, so I'm getting impatient. However, I checked with my download manager and he told me that the download progress always with an estimated time of arrival in about 45 minutes. If you think you can speed up the transmission (for example...) then press Cancel and solve the problem, otherwise the update will continue. "Of course, the download page should be displayed so I could easily see the progress of the download for my part.

_knows_ iTunes as the download progresses, then what good me with "unexpected, not able to connect" messages.

(Even if the Hosts file was the problem, I think that the update might be more useful because the solution seems to be (temporarily) replace it with a standard hosts file. The path-> error message from Apple description-> Microsoft Host difficulty description-> some editor to edit a standard-> new-> Save Backup old file, seems too complex compared to just update provide the standard file hosts for me.)

The second issue was that, when the update file has been downloaded and the update of the iPad has begun some initial activity there. A result that I see is that the serial number of the iPad is most recognized (not so comforting).

In iTunes, I see "expects the iPad" (to answer, I guess).

On the iPad, I can see a greyed on the Apple logo and a progress bar is empty (I suppose, he is waiting for the download start)

My conclusion is that the iPad is ready to receive the update, but that iTunes has not yet been allowed to send.

So, I started searching the Internet for 'update stuck forever', but this time I thought I should give it an hour before I completely gave up on it.

It really looked like a situation of blocking for about twenty minutes or thereabouts - but here, the bar began filling so the update of progress could be completed.

During these twenty minutes I should have received a comforting feedback to make myself understood there was work going on in the background. I don't know what took so long. (My internet connection is slow does not affect USB download, it should?). OK, I could see some flashing lights, but I interpreted as "still establishing a connection between iTunes and iPad, or vice versa. Thus, 'always blocked.

I often pretend to my friends Apple infrastructure is robust and easy to use. But this challenge really three days I wonder if it is more valuable...

Anyway, for now I'm going back the Samsung pad I bought yesterday... hoping that Apple will respond positively to this info.

  • iPad2 IOS 9 update... battery won't charge!

    Hello

I have a nice iPad 2 that I use every day.  I am a retired hardware/software engineer.  My iPad still costs to 100% and lasts all day and so for the past 2 years.  Last night I updated to IOS 9 and when you are finished touch was noisy on the left edge of the screen and the display went a little irrattic.  I fixed to the my PowerBook and saved.  I then reset and everyhing seemed normal.  This morning, he showed a low percentage of charge after being on the charger overnight.  He went to a couple of bars and stop.  It detects the charger when I plug, but it will not charge the battery.  I tried three well-known cables and two chargers as well as the USB Port of my PowerBook.

What do you think I should do?  Nothing you can say will make be believe it is not related to the IOS 9 update and if there is a path to the regression, please give me a hint.  I can't understand why he refused also to run as a unit while it is powered via the USB Port on the PowerBook.  I think I created a cutting board very expensive by the update of IOS.  US Government claims my lifestyle on social security not commit higher expenses this year so I won't be able to afford another iPad 2 for some time.  What would Steve?

    Sincerely,

    Robert L * Lacey, Wa

  • Problems of Ipad2 iOS 9.2.1

Someone at - it problems with their iPad running ios 9.2.1? I have an iPad 2 which keeps freezing or if crush since delivers safari.

In the settings app, under the Panel of Safari settings, turn off / disable Safari Suggestions.

  • After upgrading to IOS 9.1 my iPad2 crashes constantly and Safari takes more than 30 seconds for the loading of the page.  When Apple will solve these problems, given that the downgrade isn't possible?

After that the IOS upgraded to 9.1 on my iPad 2, the unit has switched navigation performance and each app is lagging, and then crashes the device, to be hard restarts.  Changing such settings recommended in many articles does not improve these problems of performance or speed.  Given that the downgrade is possible, when Apple will release 9.2 to solve all these problems of performance?

These are performance problems widespread in the complaints I've seen on many articles, even in this community and discussion forums.

    Uh, no.

iPad 2 questions are far from "widespread".

Each user who has problems with their brand of Apple devices claimed that their problems are widespread disaster.

users of iPad 2, 3 and 4, like me, don't post troubleshooting forums if their iOS/updates updates update succeeded.

Here are my updated list of corrections suggested for a model slow iPad 2, 3 or 4.

Try to reset all the settings in the settings under general app and in the right column under restore.

Try stories reset and delete/reset the caches in all web browsers you use.
If you use Safari, these features may be in the application settings under Safari.
Other browsers have their settings inside the running application itself.

If your iPad has been activated for iCloud, in the application settings under iCloud, to the right, under iCloud Drive, type in iCloud drive and make sure that Safari is off to save data from Safari to iCloud by car.

Also, under iCloud in the application settings, in iCloud Drive, turn the feature off saving for all other desired apps DO NOT the data automatically on iCloud drive.

If you are using Safari is always causing issues.
Try changing / using web browser third another, different.
I do not use iOS Safari too much more because I found it cause me headaches on some Web sites, regularly, to visit.
I commonly use another third party browser, perfect browser (there are others that can suit your style better web browsing, so look all first to see what third-party browser may work better for you) and I have never experience many questions that Safari was originally.

In the application settings tab general, right under the spotlight sesrch, try disable the search under the applications who really don't need a research, as some games, remote controls, apps that are really useless to be searched, etc., in order to reduce the list to Spotlight search.

Try to turn the reduced movement.
This is found in the application of settings in the general tab, in the left panel.
In the right panel, look under accessibility, look to reduce the Motion and turn this feature "On".
You should see a significant performance increase on all models of iPad 2, 3 and 4.

In the application settings under the general tab, in the right column, search background App update and enable this setting to "off".

Try a reset of your iPad by simultaneously pressing buttons Home and sleep/wake button until your iPad goes to the dark and restarts with the Apple logo, then release the buttons.
