  I have an EZ basic VPN and my external interface has a standard ACL firewall.  I cannot VPN into the system very well and have access to all the internal elements, but I have no internet access.  The router log shows:

  003253: 22 August to 15:22:26.456 MDT: % s-6-IPACCESSLOGP: FW_OUT denied 74.125.225.199 (80) tcp-> 67.X.X.X (59480), 1 packet of the list

  But having a transaiton IP NAT for this request:

  TCP 67.X.X.X.X:59480 172.25.0.68:59480 74.125.225.199:80 74.125.225.199:80

  The ip address is in the range NAT.  Am I missing an IP inspect command? I am inspection TCP and UDP.   Any ideas?

  What direction is the instruction to inspect on the defined interface? It should be set out.

  I have a Pix 515e with 6 interfaces. 5 interfaces are considered as internal that we don't want any translation NAT occur between them. We want only NAT between the 5 and the external interface.

  I created a No_Nat ACL successfully to not manage any portion of nat.

  What I have trouble understanding is the static command to allow traffic between higher levels to lower levels and vice versa.

  I understand the

  public static inside_address outside_address (indoor, outdoor)

  for the part of NAT translation.

  What I do not understand, this is when the inside address and address outside are the same, what order are going. For example, my inner interface (192.168.1.0/24) (sec100) is where the live servers, and I have another interface named accounting (192.168.2.0/24) (sec75).

  If I don't want no nat occurs between these two, I have the following

  No_Nat of the 192.168.1.0/24 192.168.2.0/24 ip access list permit

  No_Nat of the 192.168.1.0/24 192.168.2.0/24 ip access list permit

  NAT (inside) 0-list of access No_Nat

  NAT (accounting) 0-list of access No_Nat

  Now how can I enter the static command?

  static (inside, accounting) 192.168.1.0 192.168.1.0 netmask 255.255.255.0

  or

  static (inside, accounting) 192.168.2.0 192.168.2.0 netmask 255.255.255.0

  or

  I do not understand the prescription for it and why it would be used one verses the other way. Is the security level determines the order? Do I need two static command, one for each direction?

  static can be defined in any way... its only traffic that determines what it... for example, if accounting dmz is access to any server on your inside interface, you normally want the accounting servers see the original on its public IP server inside... so, you will end up as static

  static (inside, accounting) 192.168.1.0 192.168.1.0 netmask 255.255.255.0

  only the above static command is sufficient to establish connectivity between inside and dmz accounting. u don't need 2 static on any sense...

  Similarly, if you want to inside users to access a server on the dmz accounting, you can write a static type

  static (accounting, inside) 192.168.2.0 192.168.2.0 netmask 255.255.255.0

  hope you understand. Let us know if you need help... but normally a statement nat 0 is more than enough for the inside / dmz communication

  We need to connect to the site is 69.144.38.48

  We need to move from host to host meaning 192.168.0.97--> 69.144.38.50 and they want our ip to translate to 10.9.250.1

  Are you familiar with the establishment of a regular L2L tunnel? In addition to this, you just create a nat policy:

  access-list extended 100 permit ip host 192.168.0.97 69.144.38.50

  public static 10.9.250.1 (inside, outside) - access list 100

  When you define your ACL crypto, you specify 10.9.250.1 as the source instead of 192.168.0.97.

  Can I set up the VPN tunnel between two ASAs or routers using the NAT translation from within the private IP addresses to a single public IP address outside the interface and then implement interesting crypto with the source of the public IP address and the destination of the remote private network on the other end (also ASA). For example, I want to translate a private network to the public ip address at one end and use the VPN tunnel with a public IP address as the source. Policy-NAT is not an option, because we really do not want to provide any IP address to the remote end, and IP addresses of the remote end can overlap with our end.

  You can definitely set up an IPSec tunnel between two devices in the translation of your subnet in a single public IP address. You just create the translation and as you mentioned define interesting traffic using the public IP address.

  This is exactly what we call political NAT, I don't understand why you say that NAT policy is not an option. Perhapps you misunderstood concept NAT policy or I misunderstood your question.

  For example, assuming that the LAN private at your side is 172.16.1.0/24, the remote subnet is 192.168.150.0/24, and that the public IP address that you want to use is 200.200.200.200 your NAT config should look like this:

  access-list 199 permit ip 172.16.1.0 255.255.252.0 192.168.150.0 255.255.255.0

  Global (outside) 6 200.200.200.200

  NAT (inside) 6 access-L199

  Which would be NAT traffic to the public IP address only when the traffic matches the ACL.

  Your ACL crypto should then be something like

  cryptomap list of allowed access host ip 200.200.200.200 192.168.150.0 255.255.255.0

  That would hide your address real and all they see is the public IP address you give them. Note that since the NAT takes place on your side your side will be able to raise the tunnel.

  Quickweb is one of the options in the Recovery Manager, there is an option to reinstall the software You mention reinstall Quickweb, but nothing has changed. Try the Recovery Manager and see if that helps.

  The Cisco ASA obviously isn't a strong point on mine and could do with a point in the right direction. I hope that this will allow me to learn more about the ASA 5505.

  OK so I have an ASA 5505. VLAN 1 is 192.168.254.1 and VLAN 2 DHCP of my cable modem.

  I have a cisco 831 Ethernet router that will sit between my main LAN and my LAN test I want to implement for multicasting. the Cisco 831 has 1 Ethernet as 192.168.254.254 and Ethernet 0 is 10.1.1.1.

  The ASA I have an interior route 10.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 192.168.254.254.

  On the Cisco 831, there is a route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.254.1. I can pass traffic via Cisco 831 to the ASA 5505 and internet, for example I can ping 8.8.8.8 and access everything on my main local network, but the other wan of any host inside the ASA 5505 is unable to ping anything on 10.1.1.x.

  Where I'm going wrong? I did all my access to my a whole ASA, but it is still unable to do anything.

  I will attached my configs with deleted passwords here and would like a good kick in the right direction. Without a doubt, it's something simple I'm missing and I'm sure it's with the ACL on the ASA 5505 like the packet tracer said that the package is abandoned due to the ACL

• VPN access with VPN client problem. Help, please

  I have a PIX 520 as VPN tunnels endpoint device. I was able to establish an IPsec connection. I checked that I have gave me an address in the IP pool that I set up but I can't to any resource on the internal network. I could only ping myself. When I run ' ipconfig/all' I see my address on the correct vpn with DNS interface, but my front door is set to my own address. I think that's the problem. Please help me solve this problem. Let me know if you need more information.

  Here are some suggestions you might try to get this working:

  1.) change your "taken" to access-list. The lines are no longer supported by Cisco even if they still work. This will help you in debugging your access list because there will be some hitcounts.
