• V to V conversion Exchange address static IP to DHCP - help requested

  We had a problem following a conversion from V to V that we need help on.  We are the conversion of computer virtual running on a server ESXi 4 hardware version 03:53 to make it compatible with some older servers running ESXi 3.5 only because they are not on the HCL. ESXi 4 list.

  Prior to conversion, Windows servers have static IP addresses.  Following the conversion, the static IP address is changed to DHCP assigned addresses.  Someone can advise to what setting in VMware converter controls this behavior and how to maintain IP address static of the OS to convert the same after the conversion, as it was beforehand?

  The loss of an IP address in any conversion process is normal and expected.  Expecially for windows, since a new MAC address is assigned to the NIC cards.

  If you want to change the static IP address, you will need to either save the IP settings before hand... or... use the functionality of SysPrep converter for re - assign everything.

  Overall, it is perhaps easier to reallocate IP addresses just to hand post p2v.

• Apple compromised account? My phone number has been updated and the address has been changed

  Earlier today, I was working on my mac and a notification popped up saying "AppleCare would like to view your screen". Since I didn't ask help or whatever it is I clicked on the decline. The message kept appearing for 5 times or more, whenever I clicked on the decline.

  A few minutes later I received an email saying that my phone number had been kidnapped to VoicePass. So I logged in my support profile and my phone number had indeed disappeared, replaced by another phone number. My address was also changed. I tried to delete the phone number and add new my phone number, but he wouldn't let me.

  My account has been compromised? I tried to contact apple, but I can't do, and the first call that I could program online is on Sunday.

• My address bar has changed color in itself

  I use the default theme in Mozilla and today the address bar has changed color from clear blue to windows blue, and the arrows and the "home" button are white instead of black. Since I haven't done anything intentionally and don't want it to appear like that, how can I reverse it? Curiously, the address bar when 'Help' is opened seems the usual way.

  Thank you for taking the time to look at my question. I managed to me after a little sorting (Finally, a little) tweaking autour. It seems that I unchecked the "always show the bar of tabs" under Options/tabs and made the section of bar any transparent address as the windows and buttons next to him white instead of black. After I checked it again, everything is back to normal.

  It is setup for internet sharing... This is a totally different configuration... You cannot use auto because your computer is now the router... but your computer does not have a scan wireless for unused channel capacity.

  I just had a strange error output of steam, in which Windows says it has detected problems of compatibility and changed automatically in response to this. There is no option to cancel the changes, and looking at the exe of steam, no compatibility setting have been changed.

  However, when I go to open steam now, it detects that it is in compatibility mode and does not open. Anyone has any idea how I would like to undo changes?

  I do not understand why Windows has changed the settings in the first place, as it has been working well since the RC is released.

  I set two alarms for preventing me from certain actions (like opening a console to a virtual computer), that works. However the alarm also changes the "status" of the machine to "alert" until I have manually reset the alarm green or 'normal '. Is it possible to run a command that sets the virtual back to normal computer or even better, not change the State of the virtual machine to "alert" when an alarm is triggered?

  If there is an alarm representing a State he should change automatically as soon as the alarm has disappeared. But if there is an alarm represents an event, why should he disappear automatically? By confirming the alarm, you show that you recognized.

  Open a console is an event, not a status. Try to set the status not to alarm but normal, vCenter should show nothing then, but maybe you get triggered action (if you defined one).

  If you keep it as an alarm or warning, you need to confirm.

• Why the menu items change automatically?

  As I'm changed some stuff around on my test Business Catalyst site, I noticed that if I change the URL of a given page (I've changed the 'Shop' page to / sponsor), the menu item URL has not changed automatically. I don't even know the name of it has changed (I can understand as a 'function'). I thought it was a reason to use a CMS like this, that a lot of things like link exchange occur automatically. I'm sure other CMS like Drupal and Joomla do this automatically. There are chances that this will change in the future? Or maybe there is a reason why it's like that I forget?

  In my experience with BC as well as other systems, it is important to note that the pages and menu items are separated from each other.

  When a user creates a page it is not automatically added to a menu. Similarly, when a user changes the URL of a page that has been added to a menu, the menu item URL in question not is not updated automatically.

  So, if you changed a URL of the page that ends by "/ shop" to "/ sponsor ' you should be able to easily view this new URL in a browser. However, if you want the menu item that is linked to the old URL to reflect the new URL, then you will need to change the URL of item of the menu so they can talk to each other in the future.

  Yes, it's an extra step (crucial) update your menu items, but (in my experience) URL decisions are not something that is changed frequently - especially when it comes to SEO.

• Since the update to version 27.0b2 on Win8.1 x 64 my buttons extension (on my address bar) keep changing positions whenever I start Fx.

  As I said, version 27.0b1 worked very well. But once I upgraded to 27.0b2, the icons of the extension (buttons) on my address bar would automatically change position and sometimes even go MIA!
