Ipd blackBerry Smartphones changing files

How could I read ipd files in my computer?
The idea is to modify or add data to my contacts in my phone, which is much easier to do in my blackberry, a transfer then the changed file on my phone via the Blackberry Desktop Manager.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

A few things to discuss... so bear with me...

IPD files are designed for one purpose... backup and restore. They are not intended for any other use. There are 3rd party IPD readers out there (ABC Amber?), but I don't know if they allow the edition you want. But your problem is actually not that... on the contrary, your problem is how to enable the use of a PIM desktop as the master of your data and who synchronize with your BB. Therefore, keep reading...

Unlike other how things, RIM does not provide a desktop PIM. Others force you to use their PIM and only their PIM. RIM provides a driving software that works as a bridge between your PIM and the BB. See this compatible PIM KB:

  • KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager to synchronize

So, your path is, IMO, choose a compatible PIM (from above). Then download your data out of your BB and in the desktop PIM (a single one-way synchronization of your BB to the PIM, should achieve). Next, configure the BB to sync with the PIM on a permanent basis:

Good luck and let us know!

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

    See this KB:

    • KB05409 Transfer a file using Bluetooth technology between two BlackBerry smartphones

Replace the instructions appropriate for your other device instead of the transmitter unit KB section in the KB. Since you are on BB OS 6, the stage of "Receive using BT" is irrelevant.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones changing approval to applications for 8520

Is it possible to change the permission of 'Desktop To Go Applications' my word, excel, ppt and pdf of my curve8520? It is displayed as "deny".

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

There are dozens of permission settings... I have no way, what said you, namely that which shows that 'Deny '...

But, if you can change that setting, then your likely BB is now or was formerly associated with a corporate BES environment, and a BES it policy is on board which is preventing access to this permission setting.

If you are currently a member of BES, then you need to talk to your admins BES to access this special permission setting.

If you are not currently associated with BES, TI latent policy was deleted not the when the BB is provided for you... and you need to remove. Please see this KB and consider very special on all the warnings about the loss of data:

    Absolutely Yes.

V.6 BlackBerry Desktop Software download here:

Once you install the Desktop software, you will see the options for the synchronization of the organiser, who set up and you will be fine... depending on what software the calendar on your laptop computer is located.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones changes to the calendar after update

I recently did the software update proposed in consequence of which I had to re - install Facebook. Since then, I found that when I go to enter a new appointment, there are some new top that says send to help: and I choose Facebook, home, or office (the 2 is what I call my email accounts)

I don't want this option here, especially since the default value is Facebook (he seems to be in alphabetical order)

Is it possible to get rid of this option or at least change it so I can choose my own default?

    Hello

The BlackBerry smartphone has the ability to maintain multiple calendars. You can select your timetable and services default e-mail to the title of the default Services Options-Advanced Options.

Send using option is there Design and cannot be deleted because it specifies which calendar you want to use for your appointment you will enter in.

  • BlackBerry smartphones change of carrier network OS

    Hey,.

I have a BB Bold 9780 running OS of Vodacom

    However, I use a Cell C contract.

I tried wiping the device and load a generic operating system but it still continues using Vodacom as the provider of the default operating system which is a problem because it is blocking my signal to connect to the BB Internet Service.

The phone is aa BB Bold 9780 and at the moment has been erased without BONES.

Please let me know A.S.A.P. How do I strip completely BB and where I can download and how to install the OS 6 generic V so that it will work with the C cell.

I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message from your BB... ( Please wait for this before moving on to the next step) :

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    (3) restart to take batt

    • With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If this isn't the case, then you should contact your mobile provider for formal support.

    Good luck!

  • Name of blackBerry Smartphones change a backup file

Being new BB, I thought I'd ask first rather than just do it. For purposes I want to change the name of my back ups backup file . No problem with that as long as I know what they are. I'm not going to change the destination folder.

No, none that I know. I don't know why you want to change anyway, but that's not relevant.

When you perform a backup is the BlackBerry Desktop Software, you can configure the name of the folder as make you it.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones photo file format changed in. jpg.rem

    Hello

In the last two months, I've faced a weird problem with my photo files. Each file made / saved will be named with the extension. jpg.rem

Since then, I can't front/send my photos through any media IE. BBMessenger, group e-mail chats, etc.

I tried changing the extension manually but rejected by the system.

What actually happens? And how it can be fixed pls?

    Thank you very much

Don't worry, you already enabled file encryption and you cannot view the file on any other device other than your own. Go to options > security options > encryption, and then select Disable from the menu drop-down

  • BlackBerry Smartphones changing "synchronize using" for contacts

I used to use BES, but now I'm on BIS.

I want to synchronize my contacts with Google Apps / Gmail, but all my existing contacts say "synchronize using the: Desktop", while the new contacts I create say "using synchronization: [email protected]". "

How can I move my contacts from Gmail?

    Thank you

Weird. I thought I posted a follow-up. I wanted to move the contacts you want to synchronize with my Gmail / Google Apps account here, that's how I got it working:

Download the free "ABC Amber Blackberry Editor" (not to be confused with ABC Amber Blackberry Converter, I paid $19.95 for which it did not help) among Free Download ABC Amber BlackBerry Editor, edit contacts in IPD files.

Create a backup of your contacts via Blackberry Desktop Manager.

Create a new backup (via the backup and restore-> advanced) only on the "Address Book - All" database, and save this as a separate file, IPD.

Clear (empty) both the 'address book' and the 'address book' all databases.

ABC Amber Blackberry Converter, open the second IPD file and save it as an IPD file another (in hindsight, I wonder if this step is not necessary).

Use the Fund Manager to restore from that IPD file. All contacts are now under the BIS address.

The strange thing is though (nothing to do with my previous question), if I edit a Contact in Google Apps / GMAIL, address, city, State and zip all move in the field "address" in my BB contacts application (all on one line). I can change it back to normal (i.e. address, city, State and zip in their individual fields) on my BB, but the next time I have edit the contact in Google Apps, it goes back on a single line.

(I BIS contact SYNC, don't use BES).

  • BlackBerry smartphones change your Signature

I've read several ways to change your signature on your bb device.  "Sent from my Verizon Wireless Blackberry".  Anyone know how to change this signature?  I have the 8330 & Verizon service.

BTW, thanks for all the help with my last post to .3gp files.  Appreciated...

    John

You can replace through your BIS account to:

    Verizon - www.blackberry.com/go/vzw

Connection of a PC and the title of the email accounts on the right side of your account, you have an icon editing. It will allow you to change your signature here.

    I hope this helps!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones change microSD card in the BB bold 9780

    Hello

You want to change internal micro SD card from my 9780 on a larger map.

How can I do that without losing the information and the OP system files stored on this card?

    Can anyone help.

    Concerning

    Paulo

Sorry, I'm not sure who you're talking to, I don't give you any link in this thread.

And using a new SD card in your BlackBerry Media has absolutely no effect on your contacts, Outlook, iCloud, etc, because no contacts are stored on the SD card.

So, I'm quite confused myself now.

  • Backup blackBerry Smartphones opening files

I can not open the backup ipd files.

    Hello

Backup files keep data for the desktop software to restore on your phone if necessary. Cannot open files that they can only be read by other software (for example, the Desktop software).

You can try a third-party program such as ABC Amber BlackBerry Converter for the assistance this program can apparently read the data stored in the backup .ipd files.
