  I was wondering if someone can help me.  I updated my iPhone 5 today and after updating my home button wasn't working properly.  I am able to hold down the home button and Siri responds, I can double click on the home button and the iPhone will list all my applications open, but when I open app and single click to minimize the application, the home button does not.  It worked before I upgraded to iOS 9.2.1.  After the update, I've also restored my iPhone to the latest backup.

  Here's what you need to do.

  • Connect your iPhone to your computer and back up all the content on your iPhone.
  • Restoring iPhone. (You will find the button restore in iTunes homepage once you connect iPhone in)
  • Follow the steps on your computer screen.
  • Once the iPhone was restored, sign in using your credentials to iCloud and click on restore from a backup.

  I had the same problem at first but I was testing the first version of ios 10.  but the reason may be due to the low storage? If your storage space is ok please go to settings then general try to look for the software update again just to make sure that you use the latest version of ios usually there a few times an update immediately. If none of these solve the problem, try now button the power button and the home button at the same time (the screen of your iphone turns off a few seconds) touches both simultaneously when you see the apple logo on your screen if all else fails you can try connecting your device to itunes on a pc and run a quick diagnostic test? you go to itunes on a pc if you have already installed on your pc, laptop etc... Look at the upper left side... Click the help...   My contacts sometimes freeze (when I search a contact) and I have to force to leave contacts/phone to re - use the contacts/phone app. This has happened only once 10 update iOS.   Try resetting your device. This will not erase your data stored on that device.

  • Press and hold the sleep/wake button
  • Press and hold the Home button
  • Press and hold both buttons until the display turns off and on again with the Apple logo on the subject.

  Alternatively, you can go to settings - general - reset - Reset all settings

  If your iPhone 6 is stuck during startup, try the following steps from your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch does not respond or won't turn on:

  If your device turns on but hangs when starting

  You can see a blue or Red Apple logo screen for a long time during early upward. Try the following steps:

  1. Connect your device to a computer and open iTunes. If you don't have a computer, you can borrow one, or go to an Apple Store or service provider authorized Apple for help.
  2. When your device is connected, force it to restart. Press and hold buttons sleep/wake and Home at the same time. Don't release when you see the Apple logo. Keep now until you see the Recovery mode screen.

     

  3. When you have the ability to restore or update, choose update. iTunes will try to reinstall iOS without erasing your data.
