  Problem solved. I was more than a little of delay in my responses. It turns out that the STR-DN1060 (my model) plays a hi-res AIFF files. The problem was related to the hidden files in Mac OSX place on the USB when files are transferred. These files are identical by name, but I didn't notice the "." _"prefix.
