IPhone broken water

Greetings,

I found myself in a difficult situation. Any guidance will be greatly appreciated!

I own an iPhone 6 s more than 64 GB.  I left the United States on his way to Egypt for the military. During a mode ensures the Kuwait, my phone slipped where momentary I put it and it fell into the water. How I managed to drop into the water in a desert, I don't know. I have not either the AppleCare I told myself that I would take care of it...

I immediately turned it off. Once I found some white rice believed, I placed the phone in a hermetic bag with rice for 3 days. When I turned it on it worked, but the screen has acted a bit strange. In addition, the speaker was no longer working and the front camera was blurry.  A few days later the screen stopped working. I was able to use find my iPhone to remove the content, but the phone to be was broken. In addition, a piece of rice even managed to get stuck into the headphones Jack.

I'm looking for "warranty" repair tips from Apple to the subject. Currently, the phone is in route back to Denver where my other significant it will bring in an Apple Store. Because I feel that the phone is quite broken, do you think Apple will fix it for the elimination of the cost of repairs guaranteed $ 329? Or do you think it's too far gone?

Thank you for your time. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Have a wonderful day!

-Aaron

Only out of warranty costs for a replacement. Apple does not repair itself, they replace with a service unit. The service unit will be like new and recovers the rest of your guarantee of origin, or 90 days, whichever is longer.

  • iPhone 3GS water drop smell of Nail Polish

    Hi all!

I recently had the misfortune to put my iPhone 3GS (Opaque) glass that had water in it. I was playing music and trying to amplify them. He had no water in it, but the speaker stopped in a few seconds and I realized what happened. I took out the camera quickly and dry. The speaker took over the audio playback, but to be sure, I broke off the unit. I started to suck on the ports as people say to do and was overwhelmed by a heavy- like smell Nail Polish. It was really bad, and I hung up, afraid that it was going to explode. As I said, the telephone continued to work normally after I took it out less the smell, but I stopped him. I put it in the rice a few minutes later, and it seems to be not explode... advice? Thank you!!!

    Update:

Wow, I feel stupid. The glass was rubbing alcohol, which gives it the smell of nail polish. I'm still leaving rice, but at least I know that my phone is not going to melt in my hand.

my iphone 5s is clearly damaged by water, and there are more features of the device. It was professionally cleaned, but life does not come back... My question: are there ways to restore a part of local data i.e. photos recently taken? Any comments welcome.

  • My iPhone got water damaged

  • How to fix an iPhone 6 water damaged?

My iPhone 6 recently fell into the toilet clear-watered and I automatically took and cut the power, I then took down to the it Department in my college and had a technician shake all the water and remove my hard case to dry everywhere for me, but also to remove the SIM card. From there, I kept it out and about two hours later, obtained a bag of white rice to the kitchen of the College to put my i6, before putting it in my friend tried to turn it on and managed also, only the apple symbol pops up on the screen and it wouldn't really lights up, it is the latest sign that I saw him working. I went to repair an electronics store downtown, but the guy gave me a call recently and said all hope is lost for her. I am extremely disappointed by Apple at this time and I refuse to think that my iPhone 6 is burned because I saw many people fix on YouTube by soaked in alcohol, or something! I'm not sure what the seller of electronics, but I feel like I'm sure he didn't do much to revive. Please tell me that all hope is not lost, and how do I manage to fix it. I've been a very loyal customer to Apple and always highly recommend it to other people, but if my iPhone 6 is simply grilled on a 1 second fall-in with the toilet, I'll be sure to cut my short loyalty and express my very negative experience with others. The iPhone 6 is very expensive and should not have such abilities of poor water/water waterproof resistance of the water.

Blame you Apple to drop your phone in the water? Are you serious?

Even if the phone is quite expensive, it IS NOT impermeable to water, is not allowed to survive water damage. This is clearly stated everywhere where it is possible.

If you need a phone that is sustainable water, you should look for one of the specific models that have these capabilities and which are certified and tested to be waterproof to the water.

You can only hope for the best and maybe leave a feature request for Apple at the link.

  • IPhone 5 water damage

I recently put my iphone through the washer 5.  Let him sit off in a bag of rice for about 10 days.  I have it recharged last night and he came and works well.  The only problem I have is that he won't have wifi.  Everything else on the phone works perfectly.  If you go into the settings and try to activate the wifi on this path, it will not give you the ability to turn it on.  If you slide the phone up and go for this option, the wifi button is blacked out. Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you in advance.

    Hello!

Try the steps in this article

If the WiFi is gray or Sun on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch...

If your issue is not resolved the device will need to be repaired.

I hope that the unit has AC + and you can use one of your incidents, otherwise it may be eligible for the cost of warranty service or you can contact your carrier to see if the aircraft was insured.

    I hope this helps!

  • 【IPhone Water Damage】: how long he survives after recover?

    Hello

A few days ago, I dropped my iphone in the toilet (about 1 second). I immediately picked up and turned off. Now, it's still buried inside a bag of rice. There is a risk that the iphone still works. But I've heard that once the water, it could become corrosive and ultimately, the iphone is going to die sooner or later.

I wonder anyone at - it a similar experience (iphone in water drop & and still working)? How long the iphone can survive after the accident?

    Thank you

    Randy.

    I use the 6SP, incidentally.

As I want to give this iPhone to my husband, now I bought a new one, I followed the following steps:

    1. a version of its iPhone "Broken" on my only restored, but all of my information was still on this phone.

2 tried to reset the iPhone and start a "clean" restore

    3. the reset worked, now the iPhone does not, turn on even if I get my Apple ID

    4. I'm not able to activate - it keeps telling me that Apple ID cannot be used to unlock this device

    5. I spent my iCloud account and deleted the latter device.

I'm now looking for a resumption of the iPhone, my mac book is "Software download for iPhone" (from iTunes)

(The download takes a long time, and my iPhone keeps restarting)

Please help, is there anything else I can try?

Hello and welcome to the HP support community.  Excellent first post.

Considering that webOS devices have been abandonded years and not yet developed by HP, comparing it with a current OS like iOS is a waste of energy.
