iPhoto Bug

I know I have a lot of update, I need to do (visited turn it off), but when I went to export my iPhoto (tons of photos) library before the update, some of these photos will appear distorted. When I click on this picture, completely different picture opens. Any ideas what's happening? I'm afraid I'll lose data and hoping someone here can get a glimpse. Thank you!

OS X 10.9.5

iPhoto 9.5.1

MacBook Air

Processor: 2 GHz Intel Core i7

Memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

500 GB of Flash storage

Your problems are just beginning.  Your wait update/upgrade will cause you additional pain because you have to add at least this intermediate step described here:

Cannot update iPhoto because it is not available in the App Store

You must update iPhoto before moving on to the pictures because a later version of iPhoto is required to allow photographs to create his library.

In the future, I highly recommend that perform you each update/update it will be available.

The changes were that simply the message to apple is not the complete message. Can send the complete message if necessary.

Older versions of iphoto are break when they use the functionality of the site.  Slide show you uses it maybe places?

The problem is, that Apple has not renewed the contract with Google for access to location servers, and older versions of iPhoto will plant it, when they need to find a location and try to access Google's servers.

See this: Bug: iPhoto 9.4 crashing when viewing the scene

You have several options as described in the tip of the user:

    • Try to upgrade to a version of iPhoto that uses different servers, if you can update to iPhoto 9.6.1 on Sierra. IPhoto 9.5.1 find use serve various places of research.
    • Patch iPhoto to delete the iPhoto Application package Java script code
    • Patching javascript files and add your own for Googles servers access key.
  • remove names in faces in iPhoto

any labelling faces in iPhoto, I misspelled several names.  When I continue to label faces the wrong name as well as the correct name appear in the list of your choice. Is there a way to change the list of names and delete the incorrect so that I won't make a mistake when choosing names.  I have more 4 000 faces to tag

No, there is no way to eliminate the list of names suggested faces. The only way would be to start over with a new library of photos, import all the photos again and start naming faces yet.

It is has often been a feature requested, but so far there is no bug for this fix.

  • How to open iPhoto library in v8 v9?

I got a library that kept crashing v8.1.2 iPhoto on my OS X 10.8.5 system. I opened a copy of the library on a system of 10.9 with iPhoto v9, and after "update", it works very well - no crashes. I need to work on 10.8.5,, but iPhoto v9 will not work on this OS.  Assuming that the question was something of a contradiction in my library and not a bug in iPhoto v8, is it possible to somehow convert return my library now cleaned back to iPhoto v8.1.2 can open it?

In addition, are there versions of iPhoto v8 above 8.1.2 - maybe I can get the most recent that is compatible with my 10.8.5 system.

iPhoto v8.1.2 was the last version of than iPhoto.

iPhoto v9 will run on 10.8.

You can not NWB a v9 v8 library, but you can try to "regression" of the iPhoto Library Manager library

  • iPhoto Library unreadable

Hello, when I try to open my iPhoto library, I get a message saying "your library is in use by another application or became unreadable." I've seen other posts on this topic, but they all seem a bit outdated (~ 2014) so I wanted to see if the same solution remains true. I have backed up all my photos and I'm afraid to lose if something will not try to recover the application. It is important to note that I have not made an update on this computer since the purchase by the end of 2012. Please let me know if you have new information on how to solve this problem. Thanks in advance!

It is important to note that I have not made an update on this computer since the purchase by the end of 2012.

Then your version of iPhoto is probably iPhoto 9.4.5 or more.  All older versions of iPhoto are crashing, if you used the places in iPhoto feature, because Apple has not renewed the contract with Google to use the servers of Google Maps.

Disconnect your Mac of internet.  IPhoto works again without crashing, if you work in offline mode?

Then read this tip to user: Bug: iPhoto 9.4 crashing when viewing the scene

To resolve this problem, either work offline when you use iPhoto, or change the iPhoto application as described in the tip of the user.  But you must make full backup of your Mac on a disk with Time Machine or another backup software before you try all the patches.

  • iPhoto timeout message indicating there is no network connection

    I have a Macbook Air2, 1, iPhoto ' 09 8.1.2 Version running.

I've recently updated to Snow Leopard (10.6.8), in the hope that it would solve my problem of iPhoto.  There can be no.  I am hated for access to El Captain again as I'm not convinced I need - I don't have a new macbook, I do not run applications and have no problem with the wifi connection or speed.

I'm able to compile my photobook, but when I click on the button 'Buy the book' the hairdresser tells me to connect until I get a message that a connection could not be established and try later.  I tried repeated and can confirm that my WIFI connection is fine.  I tried the solutions on the other posts to this error message, but these did not work.

I've converted the book in PDF format so, how do I get this to Apple to print? If I don't use IPhoto?

I am hated for upgraded my IPhoto as the upgrade to the latest version of ITunes has done that I can no longer transfer music from my IPhone 6.

    All tips from other users?

Apple has completely stopped support for iPhoto books. Since the end of March, you can buy is more books from iPhoto or Aperture, only on the pictures for Mac application.

To get your printed iPhoto book save book as PDF and use a different print service, for example, Presto Photo.

Have you been using the places feature in iPhoto? You are a victim of support of missing for Places.  Apple has not renewed the contract with Google for access to the servers of Google's location. And now all the old versions of iphoto are problems, when they try to access Google's servers.

See this tip to user: Bug: iPhoto 9.4 crashing when viewing the scene

I don't know, if you use the same fix in your version of iPhoto.

Only new versions of iPhoto work well at the moment.  iPhoto 9.5.1 and newer versions no longer use the servers of Google but Apple servers.

Sync to iphoto with Iphone hangs on during synchronization. In addition the google map can be charged when I click on the places of Mediathek. Error message: "this page has not loaded correctly Google Maps. See the JavaScript console for more technical details. »

Perhaps the reason for the problem of synchronization is the problem with the loading of google map?

Error message: "this page has not loaded correctly Google Maps. See the JavaScript console for more technical details. »

Apple has not renewed the contract with Google to access Google servers.

If the old version of iPhoto, which are still using Google's servers for the cards and places are either crashing or hanging.  Places are only work in iPhoto 9.5.1 or newer, who use places of Apple servers.

There is more support for iPhoto from Apple.  You must update iPhoto 9.5.1 with the Mavericks. It would work well, only it is no longer buying this update to Apple.

Perhaps the reason for the problem of synchronization is the problem with the loading of google map?

It is very likely.  If iPhoto work very well when you are offline, then your problems will be caused by the connection failed to Googles servers.

Choose the theme - 'Photo Story' / connected / large

Create the duplicate - save to Version 2 - Triangles of yellow lights appear on all pages!

2 days wasted trying to buy a book in iPhoto from Apple...

At least I have a good PDF of Version 4 I can take for local printing

IT OF JUST A BUG?  IS THERE A SOLUTION?  -IS THE NEW APPLICATION 'PHOTOS' ANY BETTER?

You can buy is more books of photos with iPHoto (or opening) - Apple dropped that service 03/31/2016

You must use Photos or a third party - PrestoPhotos States that they can print and above all of the positive comments on the results in the opening forum - I don't personally used them

And the error you are getting is not wrong - you have not one or several photos missing in your book - usually a background picture full page covered by another photo, so you don't notice it

and you don't say how you are seen, but it's the way recommended - Preview of a project on paper in Photos or iPhoto to avoid problems - Apple Support

  • PLACES OF IPHOTO DOES NOT - 9.2.3 - MAC OS

When I go to 'info' - then click on 'places' - the gps is up momentarily then goes - have version 9.2.3 - it allows to work very well - help please

Places don't work is no longer in older versions of iPhoto to all. You must at least have iPhoto 9.5.1 for workplaces.

Apple has not renewed the contract with Google to access the servers using iPhoto.

If you want to be able to use the upgrade of places to El Capitan and iPhoto 9.6.1 (if you can - you can only update AppStore versions of iPhoto).

Upgrade to El Capitan and Photos for Mac.  The two iPhoto 9.6.1 and pictures use different servers for Places.

If you know how to edit the HTML code, you can try the fix posted by cotton-x

You need to register for a private key for Google's servers and patch the iPhoto application.

  • iPhoto 11 crushing

So far I never had NO problem with my desktop iMac computer. You wanted to print some pictures yesterday and before I could get started iPhoto crashed right after that I tried to open it. Tried many times to restart the computer and the program with the same results.

    My mac is running

    OS X 10.8.5

    iPhoto 11 is Version 9.4.3 (720.91)

IM yet to learn how to use the Mac after the ignition of the PC 3 years. I looked a little research and saw the recommendations of deleting of plist files and these just not sure what to do in my case. I get an option to send a report to Apple, after each accident

I have approximately 475 pictures in iPhoto that there were imported from an iPhone or a unit photo Nikon. Many others is saved in the photo folders on my desk that have not been transferred to iPhoto.

  • How long is too long for iPhoto to delete 35 000 photos?

Due to the import of my photo in iPhoto folder structure, I have a lot of double copies.  I have all the photos placed in iPhotos Trash and didn't know that it required a separate purge of the Mac OSx file bin.  So now it has been more than an hour and iPhoto always displays "iPhoto trash dump.  I don't know if it is abnormal or not, given the number of photos.  I only 8400 pictures so I have no idea why iPhoto reports plus 35 000.  I imported my files only once.  Is iPhoto 'hung up' or OSx is actually busy doing things to empty the photos?  Should I try a reboot forced my Mac, restore all photos or just wait it out?  For more information, the lesson learned.  Of course, it was easy to make this mess.  It just open iPhoto, import files, select all your folders and let it do it's thing.

What version of iPhoto do you have?

Some versions of iPhoto have a bug that prevents them from emptying the trash, if you put too many photos in the trash at a time. Then the thrash band will never deplete.  Try to take all the photos from the Recycle Bin and then trash only some hundreds of photos at once. And empty the trash immediately.

  • Problem with Iphoto/Photos

    Hey there!

I've updated my mac from the software for OS X Yosemite 10.10 10.6.8 and can't now open Iphoto or upgrading the application.

Photos of the app has not been installed with the upgrade, what can I do to find/open all the pictures I had on my computer?

Thank you in advance for your help!

What version of Yosemite have you?   Photos for Mac will be installed with MacOS X 10.10.3 or later.  If missing pictures, look at the tab updates on the App Store and update at least MacOS X better 10.10.3, to 10.10.5 to get all Yosemite bug patches. Then, you will be able to use Photos for Mac.

To be able to use iPhoto, update iPhoto 9.6.1. However, it will be possible, if you use iPhoto 9.x.x.

9.6.1 iPhoto works well with Yosemite and El Capitan.

See tip for user to Barney, if you did not yet Update 9.6.1 iPhoto: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-8431

  • I can't update iPhoto,

Is it important that I now have pictures (he seems to suggest I will correct some bugs) and if she can't I get rid of the requested update always when I go in the

    AppStore?

Photos has been added and if you drag an iPhoto library Photos icon in the dock, it will be migrated to PHotos - Photos is a new program and has a learning curve so take the overall view and read the help files

iPhoto still works too for a while - you need the current version 9.6.1 - if your software is not up to date see can't update iPhoto because it is not available in the App Store

and the El Captain came out with 1.3 Photos and many new features and bug fixes - you should run it
