IPod No. Longer syncing with iTunes

Hello

I briefly tried Windows 10.  Did not like after that various things were not compatible with it (as my external hard drive) I did a clean reinstall of Windows 7, which naturally erased my iTunes library.  Everything was just about imported CDs and single tracks purchased outside of iTunes so can all be delivered on.

I got a couple of new CD for Christmas, bought from the slopes of 7Digital.  They appear in my iTunes library but my iPod Classic does not synchronize more so I am unable to transfer them to my iPod.

I'm relatively new to al cela but do not want to wipe everything iPod accidentally pressing the wrong thing. On my iTunes summary, a box to say "Sync only checked songs and videos".  Everything is checked into the library.

Can someone tell me please.

Thank you so much x

p.s. I wish I never installed Windows 10.

I have an old 4th gen iPod "classic" with black & white screen too...

If your library iTunes music everything fits on your iPod, it's easy to set up.  You must enable automatic synchronization and tell iTunes to sync 'all '.

Select iPod in iTunes (click on its button on the device on the horizontal bar), to display the settings screen in the iTunes window.  The side left (in the sidebar), under settings, click music.  Right, parameters of music on the iPod screen.

NOTE: For anyone else reading this, any song on iPod which is NOT in the iTunes library (on computer) will be lost.

At the top of the window, check the box to Sync music.  This enables automatic synchronization.  Below, choose the option to synchronize the entire music library.  At the bottom, click apply.  iTunes syncs "all" (music-related) for iPod.  Go further, iTunes automatically synchronizes the changes in the music library on iPod, the next time it is connected (or when you click Sync if already connected).

  • 5 Gen iPod will not sync with itunes 12 in 10.11.2

    Hello

I had a timing problem, where the my iPod Gen 5 has not been recognized under Yosemite anymore. Upgrade to El Capitan - all worked ok until the first OS / X update for 10.11. Now, iTunes 12.3.1.23 as the iPod is not recognized.

I've tried resets and hard disk mode - nothing has worked.

To work around this situation, I ended up installing iTunes on a virtual 10 Windows on the same Mac computer. 10 Windows VM detects the iPod correctly and I am able to sync after that I added all the music and books audio to iTunes for Windows library.

But, I want to turn on my Mac and have the Mac with iTunes for Mac OS sync my iPod. He worked for many years without problems.

So, I want to come back under Mac OS, re-formatting, and sync as usual.

  • IPod won't sync to Itunes

For some reason, my ipod touch 5th used to synchronize with itunes after these new updates, I guess, since the last time that I have synced my ipod was on March 18. I tried using different usb cords and uninstall and reinstall itunes. Actually on my pc, my ipod shows that it is connected to the laptop, but it is not pop up in itunes, even after execution of the itunes diagnostic on the player to sync. When I connect my ipod to my computer the only indicator that I receive on the ipod is a message that asks if I want to leave my access to the computer for pictures on my ipod. I'm really not restore my ipod because I over 12 GB of music and it takes long ridiculously to synchronize and also because if this doesn't work, I'll be left with no music, since my ipod is not sync with itunes. Someone knows how to help or facing similar problems?

  • IPad will not sync with iTunes on my laptop. Synchronization in iPpod settings will not work

MY iPad will not sync with iTunes on my laptop, the sync on my iPad button will not work. I have the latest updates on both.

I guess you mean that the sync button in iTunes, not on the iPad, will not work. If you are sure you have the latest version of iTunes and iOS (your profile shows 8.1) try quitting iTunes on the computer, restart the computer and force restart your iPad

No data is lost during this procedure. Hold on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen.

  • Once I update my phone to iOS9 will always sync with iTunes on my iMac with OS 10.7.5?

Hello, my name is Catherine and I have a few questions. First of all, where I am and where I want to go:

I have an iMac end of 2006 with OS X Lion installed, which is the most recent this computer can manage, if I understand correctly.

My iPhone is a 4S which currently still holds iOS6 (6.1.3) installed. I want to upgrade to iOS9.

    Now the questions:

The iPhone 4S is compatible with iOS9? If so, can upgrade directly to iOS9, or do I need to step it up?

Once it is upgraded to iOS9 will always sync with iTunes on my old iMac?

Any advice on this process are appreciated.

Thank you for taking the time to read and respond to my request.

    Catherine

Side note: it was strangely difficult to determine which community/category for this post, so if this is not the right pair, pointing me in the right direction would be more useful. Thank you!

You need at least OS X 10.8.5 (not 10.7.5) or later version to use iTunes 12.3 which will supported iOS 9.

    http://www.Apple.com/iTunes/download/

Yes, the iPhone 4S turn iOS 9 (but the iPhone 4 does not work).

It syncs with your old Mac?  It depends how old.  The Mac must be running at least OS X 10.8.5 and hopefully will last OS X 10.11.1 (current version).

You can update your Mac directly - if you can update the Mac at all.  If you can update depends on the age and model.

  • iPod classic (7th generation), do not sync with iTunes on Windows 10

    Salvation;

My iPod classic (7th generation, 160 GB) is not synchronized with iTunes 12.3.2.35 (latest version) on Windows-10. It is synchronized before, but it suddenly stopped synchronization. The iTunes is to identify the iPod, but it is not sync. Also, all my other iPods (nano and classic) also show the same behavior. Help nicely, as it made all my outdated iPod. Thank you!

If the iPod appears in iTunes, select it (click on its button on the device on the horizontal bar) to show its settings screen in the iTunes window.  The side left (in the sidebar), under settings, click music.  Right, parameters of music on the iPod screen.

NOTE: All iPod songs that are not in your iTunes library (on the computer) will be lost.

If the box Sync music is not checked, check it.  This enables automatic synchronization.  If your library complete iTunes music can fit on the iPod, you can choose the option synchronize entire music library.  Then click apply.

If your library complete iTunes music does not fit on the iPod (or if you do not want to synchronize 'everything'), you can choose the option synchronize select playlists, artists, albums and genres.  Make your choice from the lists below.  For example, you can keep one or more playlists in your iTunes library, with songs that you want on the iPod.  Back on the settings screen of music from iPod, under playlists, search for and select (checkmark) these playlists.  After making your selections, click apply.

Further, iTunes syncs iPod "" with your library iTunes music (or the selected part) when you connect the iPod (or click sync , if already connected).

  • iTunes App updates are no longer sync with iPhone

I'm in iOS 9.2 on my iPhone and iTunes 12.3.2.35 64-bit on Windows 10 Pro.  It was that when I updated my apps on the iPhone and then sync the phone with iTunes, applications would be update automatically in iTunes and then appears in the Recycle Bin, ready to remove older versions of applications.  In this case is no longer, so now I have to update the applications on the iPhone and iTunes separately if I want to update Apps in both.  What is the purpose of this?  Why double our efforts?  I tried to update Apps in iTunes first and then running synchronization.  Applications updates appear then to be transferred to the iPhone while sync ("transfer Apps... 1 of 4... [Application name] "), but then when I finished the sync and see the updated section of the applications in the App Store on the iPhone, they always appear not updated, with a red circle on the App Store icon indicating the number of applications that need to be updated, and the word"Update"still alongside the Apps in question in the updated App Store section.  What gives?

In addition, in iTunes, in the [my iPhone] / Summary / Apps section, I used to see all of my Apps in the left column, but see only 20 of them.  All 100 + Apps are still displayed on the right-hand side of the screen, which reflects the layout of my iPhone windows, but I discovered that, in order to restore all applications in the left column, I had to go to my account name in iTunes at the top of iTunes then click on purchase and then re-download applications.  Why on Earth?  They who don't take up much room on my SSD and they are already on the iPhone, so there is no saving space on the iPhone by showing only not all applications in the left column, so what gives?  What's the point?

Please return to the process where when I sync my iPhone my Apps are updated automatically in iTunes.  Why do you do the doubly difficult process?  And, what's now the sync at all, if I don't have photos or new playlists or something like that on my machine I want to synchronize with the iPhone?  There is no synchronization, then, and so unless I have no particular reason to synchronize then I don't be backup versions of the database of the iPhone on my machine on a regular basis!  Apple, you get an Apple rotten to me!  I thought you were all make tech easier to use, more confused!

A feature introduced with iOS 9 called thinning or slicing app app allows each device to download just the code and resources required by this device, resulting in smaller downloads and a better use of the storage on the device. Therefore the device is no longer the universal version of the application that can be installed on any device to transfer applications is no longer supported. I hope that Apple will bring some changes to how it works, but in the meantime, you can download past purchases from iTunes or activate the automatic shopping app downloads to ensure that iTunes has always the apps you want on your device. As long as you make sure that all of the apps are present and updates in iTunes before you attempt a restore there should be no loss of data. I cannot confirm, but it seems a way to recent update all data are restored and apps that are not in the library are waiting to download from the iTunes Store over Wi - Fi, in a similar way to the restoration of the iCloud way works.

  • iBooks do not sync with iTunes

So a few days, my books have disappeared from my iTunes. I can still see everything in iBooks on my computer, but iTunes does not recognize them. Also iBooks since my computer is not synchronized with my iphone and ipad, and for now, the only way to read something is if I download on icloud drive and download it to the device.

Also in iTunes - there is no "BOOKS" tab, it appears only when I connect a device, it's when I see that the books are not in iTunes and I can't transfer on devices. Is there a way to make my books from iBooks, appear in iTunes?

    I am running:

    OS X El Capitan - version 10.11.4

    iBooks - version 1.5

    iTunes - version 12.3

    Thank you!

    Hi noti4kam,

The iBooks app is now control on your iOS devices and Mac books.  The resources below will explain how download or synchronize books:

IBooks of synchronization between your Mac and your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

There are books that you buy from the iBook Store automatically on all your devices iOS and Mac.

The app iBooks on your computer works like iBooks on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

If you buy a book on your Mac or your iOS device, it is automatically available via iTunes in the cloud on all iOS devices and all your Mac computers. You can also synchronize your bookmarks, notes and collections in all of your devices.

    Download books on your device

Items purchased from other devices or Mac may appear in your library with a cloud icon in the upper right corner. This shows that the item is available for download on iCloud, but does not appear on your Mac or iOS device.

To download the agenda and begin viewing, tap on the book you want to read. The book will download and open after a few moments, depending on your connection speed.

If you do not see all your items purchased in iBooks, check your settings.

    See your purchased books

    On your Mac

    • Click sort by in the upper right corner of iBooks.
    • Click on "view iCloud books" from the bottom of the drop-down list.

Sync ePub, iBooks author books and PDFs with iBooks and iCloud

The first time you open iBooks once you upgrade to iOS 9.3 or OS X 10.11.4, you will be prompted to use iCloud. If you do not see the command prompt, you may need to Configure iCloud Drive.

You can use iCloud Drive to synchronize the ePub, iBooks, iBooks author books and PDF files so that you can access it on all your devices. Once you turn on iCloud by car, all the files download automatically to iCloud *. EPub, iBooks author book or PDF files that you add to your iBooks library later also automatically download on iCloud *.

Books purchased on the iBook Store is not stored in iCloud by car, but you can redownload them. Because they are not stored in iCloud drive, they do not count against storage iCloud. Books and sample books don't sync with iCloud drive.

    Take care
