Is Ammyy administrators a legimitate company

Today, I received a phone call supposedly from Microsoft saying you receive many messages from my computer problem and they gave me the address of the site above to verify the call.   They said that my computer has a virus, and they wanted to remove the virus.  I'm really uncomfortable about this supposed Microsoft contact.

They gave me a company name of Directors Ammyy, 108 W 13th Street, Wilmington, Delaware 19801, telephone 213-550-1062.  They are a legitimate representative of your company?

I'd be happy to hear you talk if I now have to be worried about identity theft or to have my computer hijacked by these people.  Thank you for your response.

Hello

Its a total scam!

In the United States, you can contact the FBI, Attorney general, the police authorities and consumer
Watch groups. Arm yourself with knowledge.

No, Microsoft wouldn't you not solicited. Or they would know if errors exist on your
computer. So that's the fraud or scams to get your money or worse to steal your identity.

Avoid scams that use the Microsoft name fraudulently - Microsoft is not unsolicited
phone calls to help you fix your computer

Saying that he had problems with my computer, etc...

a system restore point to October 8.

Then I did a reinstall of system manufactured settings (new)

  • Received a phone call from someone who said he could help me because his company had received the error messages from my computer - XINFINITY?

So I recently received calls from this guy who claims to be with Microsoft Error Reporting service, but I thought something was fishy when he couldn't tell me anything specific on my computer, which he would be able to know right away. Also, he couldn't speak a lick of English, which makes it really difficult to understand what he wanted originally.
He told me that he and his 'business' received my computer error messages, and that we should "follow the simple steps to get rid of these problems.
He told me to go to the computer management console and find the 'filter' in the display options, but being an avid user of XP, I know there is no such thing.
He then told me that it is an effect of a virus that "we need to follow the steps to get rid of. He directed me to the console to Run and had me type in this web address:
So now, things get sketchy. A free host for a supposedly serious company? I do NOT.
(Why he wanted me to use RUN to access a Web site, I have no idea, only adds to the superficiality...)
I went on the site, which lo & behold, very professional. There are four links to download files .exe with weird as names:
    -' Ammyy v3"(AA_v3.exe)
    -' Ammyy v2"(AA_v2.exe)
    -"Croosloop" (CroosLoopSetup.exe)
    - and 'ShowMyPc"(ShowMyPC3105.exe)

He said click on the first and hit. He said SAVE or CANCEL. Now, I'm not naïve or stupid or gullible, and I am computer illiterate.
I smell something fishy here. Technical support does not call you about errors, you call them.
Research in the comments left on their FREE site, I have seen that all FOUR were short and had similar spelling/grammar mistakes. Typical supported false reputation.
I did a google search, barely found anything on this "business" and the guy hung up.
This is the site that this guy directed me to: http://xinfinitytech.webs.com/quick-help/
IM asking for any information about whether if it's a scam, an attempted theft of identity/data theft, an attempt to spread of the most recent virus, or some guy who tries to help. My gut tells me that it is one of the top three.

My e-mail name was changed (by mistake) and now it shows me as an independent company.  How to restore my name on the emails I send?

    Hey there FulanodeTal!

Welcome to Apple Support communities. Email signatures are an important element to send effective emails. This edition is simple and you can follow along on your Mac.

    1. Open the Mail Application.
    2. Choose "Mail" in the menu bar in the upper left corner.
    3. Open "Preferences".
    4. In the 'Preferences' window, select the icon "Signatures".
    5. Here, you will be able to modify and manage signatures different, used while composing emails.

    See you soon.

  • Some emails received come with attachments that are just icons such as facebook or company logo. How to stop these please?

E-mail messages can have attachments (such as documents) that I don't want to receive. But there are also a lot of attachments that seem to be icons of logo. Include specific company logo, facebook, twitter etc. I'm afraid that they add to the demand for storage and will also effect the speed of loading of emails. I would like to stop the logos / icons but still receive the documents that the sender wants me to have. If you can hep do me this, I would be happy.
    Thank you.
Please keep in mind, I'm not very tech savvy.

The icons have been added as part of the e-mail. You cannot change what someone else puts in their e-mail.

If you already have the setting for not showing remote content then you should not see the icons in the content of the e-mail, but you will see empty boxes with a broken link icon, where the icons were positioned.
This has no effect on the reading of the attachments.

You can use one of the methods is to read these messages using plain text instead of HTML.

    • View > Message body as > plain text

If you mean there several icons are added as attachments - no content - more the actual document you want to read.
Do not use the option "Open" or "Save all" for very obvious reasons.
Instead, right-click on the attached document you want to read and select 'Open' or ' Save as '.

All attachments can be removed or detached.
If you want to keep the email, but do not keep the attachments, you can right click on an attachment and select 'delete '.

If you want to keep the email and attachments, but not an attachment with email because it uses a lot of space, you can right-click on a file and select "unpin". This will allow you to save the document to another location outside of Thunderbird attachment.
In its place will be a link, so you can still use the "attachment" link to open the document, but because he is no longer with the email, it will reduce the size of the email and to provide more space in the folder.

If you want to keep the attachment, but not the e-mail, do as shown above to "detach" and save the document, and then delete the email.

  • Cannot attach files in any email AOL, yahoo or the company. Also only shows blank page when access yahoo email.

In any web mail program AOL, Yahoo, my companies, you cannot attach files when you compose an email. By the icon/button attach it says "no file selected" (or when you switch on it). This also happens in safe mode. The browser speed is also very slow. Once logged into my yahoo mail, I get a blank page. In the title bar, it says I have x amount of email.

I reinstalled Firefox and for about 60 seconds, it was fast and yahoo opens up very well and I was able to reach yahoo emails and on behalf of my company. After this he returned to its slow and not be attached and yahoo opening a blank page.

I have run spybot and deleted and malicious software threats found them all. I think something infects Firefox. IE and Chrome do not have this problem. Any help would be appreciated as I am at a loss.

antivirus was not a problem since it was not installed. Firewall settings are fine. I just finally solve this problem. SpyHunter was able to detect two of the hijackers that other programs do not have, and this fixes the problem. As I said in the original post I did not suspect that this was the problem. The lesson is to run several malware programs, until you find one that eliminates the problem, if you think that malware as the problem.
