Is an external hard drive suitable for Asus memopad?

I would like to connect a disk external drive in my Asus memopad ME 302 c compressed. Does anyone know if this is possible and if it is the guy's best example: 2'5 "or another? Would be grateful for any advice on this

Hello and welcome to the HP support community!

I think the best advice would be to ask in a forum focused on Asus...

  • How to backup to external hard drive (removable) for windows home server 2011

Your online help recommend ' to use several external hard drives and rotate the drives between onsite and offsite storage locations", but there is nothing that explains the procedures to be put in place. I have vascular 1 internal disk used as a server backup and the desire to attach a USB key and also back up the server and remove location and still allow regular backups to take place on the interal drive.

    Hi JarjarMack,

Given that the problem is related to Windows Home Server 2011, for better assistance, you must post your query in the following Windows Home Server Forum.

  • I try to use my Time Capsule as external hard drive. But when I look in the Finder, nothing is available for shared devices.

I have a Macbook air running OS X El Capitan. I try to use my Time Capsule as external hard drive. But when I look in the Finder, nothing is available for shared devices. I don't know if I need to restart the time Capsule or change the wireless setting, etc. ?

    Please advise...

The TC appears in airport utility? If not then it is probably not part of your network or is lost... upgrade installed you El Capo because there a lot of questions.

What is the TC plugged into the network by ethernet? And configured properly? Are you to internet via the TC... but can not see his drive... that would be typical?

Have you set Finder preferences to display the network drives? Apple keeps making it difficult for some unknown reason.

You actually have to mount the drive TC if it appears under shared... it still may not appear if you double click on it. Under the search box on the top of the right hand you see Connect (As) box, type the name or IP address of the TC in there... Make sure that you save the password from your keychain.

I try to use my Time Capsule as external hard drive

For the storage of the files it is fine.

For the execution of direct files for an application in the Mac, you are very likely to damage or corrupt the file at some point.

And how do you do backups? Time Machine can't help you... it won't work.

Backup is crucial, especially if you do things apple say not to do... That is to say move your photos or the iphoto library to the TC and try to use direct from there... expect any day to need a resumption of the library.

  • Hi I'm looking to upgrade my iMac 2007 to a MacBook Pro that I can keep the iMac as an external hard drive is so how?

WWhat should I do to keep all my photos and music files without having to complete my new mac book

You can keep your iMac, but this isn't a very effective solution, if you just want to use it for storage. Sell and buy two external hard drives, one for extra storage and the other for a Time Machine backup drive that I speculate that you have not.

  • You can use migration assistant to transfer the time machine backup external hard drive?

Hello. I just bought a new macbook pro with a 256 GB flash drive to replace my previous macbook pro that had a breakdown of all the systems. My problem is that I have a time machine backup that is greater than 256 GB (it's almost 450 GB) and I try to find out if I can use migration assistant to transfer all the content directly on an external hard drive, then move the content I want on my hard drive from the external hard drive? My goal is to let my music and photos on the external hard drive and for all port hardware I need for work.

I don't have access to another mac with storage well enough that I have the old HD so could potentially be installed in an external enclosure and extracted files directly from there if it's easier.

What I intend to do in the long term is to buy a big external hard drive network and put all my photos, music etc over there and use the laptop as expected - that is for files from day to day - then it will be just a short-term problem.

Any advice would be really appreciated.

    Thank you

    Nick

Migration Assistant is user to transfer data from one computer to the other.  If I read your post correctly, you want to copy your data from Time Machine on another HARD disk.  Thia may be useful:

    http://pondini.org/TM/18.html

Pondini website covers virtually all aspects of Time Machine.

    Ciao.

  • Import movies directly on an external hard drive

I'm about to start on a project to import all the old movies video families and rather hard disk DivX wonder if it would be easier to buy a 1 TB hard drive and import them directly on the disk hard - the film is about 60 videotapes (1 hour each) - I use IMovie 10.0.5 - I did not update my version of IMovie as it appears that later versions have the ease of 'marking '.

    Thank you

If you create libraries on an external drive any media imported into these libraries will be on the external hard drive.  For details, see: http://help.apple.com/imovie/mac/10.1/#/mov3fa25bae7

  • I can't boot my system when I have an external hard drive connected.

Start with an external hard drive

Recently, I buy a WD MY Book Essential 1 TB external hard drive. I can't the computer to boot while the hard drive is connected.
The Gateway logo appears; If the My Book Essential is connected the computer won't go any further.
IF the My Book Essential is unplugged, by physically unplugging the cable power supply or where the USB 3.0 cable the system starts right in windows.
WD technology say to disconnect the drive when I stopped and when I start taking the computer to the external hard drive. For me, it makes no sense, there must be a better way.

It seems that I solved my own question. I disabled Legacy USB Support and now the computer starts windows. I take a bit of time and the extra minute or more, but it won't in windows and now I'm happy.

    Thanks for your help

    Hello

Go into your Bios by pressing DEL, F2, etc. at startup.

Look at the bottom of the start screen for the right for the installation key or BIOS.

    Wait your boot order Options.

You will probably find that the boot (or words like that) USB devices are listed as 1st in the boot order.

Replace the hard drive to be 1st in the boot order.

    See you soon.

  • Initio default controller blocks external Hard Drive Access, a fix?

    Hi all

I use my case (with a 1 to Samsung HARD drive inside) NexStar 3.5 "external hard drive hassle for a little more than a month, until today. After pluging in there (via USB), I was informed that new driver software has been installed, the aforementioned Initio Default controller. After doing this, I was unable to access the hard disk.

I am currently on Windows Vista, and nothing like this has happened. I tried to do a system restore to the time before the installation of the driver, but the same problem. Are there steps I can take to resolve this problem? Thanks in advance.

    Hello
Have you checked with the manufacturer support site? I suggest that you go to the Nexstar support site and download the drivers directly on the site. This will help if something went wrong with this update that caused the problem.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi Rae3000,

Vista cannot update files automatically from music on external drive folder or vice versa.

When you play a file on your computer or on the Internet, the Player automatically adds the file to your library if it isn't already in your library. The reader does not automatically add a file that you play from removable storage media, a device removable storage, or on a shared network folder

  • Help with external hard drive

I use an external hard drive Seagate for my photos and I have been use for more than a year, today when I used it, my windows 7 laptop not recognize it so I couldn't see the files but I knew that it worked as I could hear, I then plugged in a computer laptop windows 8 and it's the same thing. I used another cable, still nothing has changed. Could someone tell me how to solve this problem that I don't have a return to the top of the images.

    Hello

This is a problem because it is not recognized by Windows 7 or Windows 8 machines.

I would try it on a 3rd machine, such as pointing to something to go wrong with this Seagate HD.

And hearing that HD is not a good sign either.

    See you soon.

  • I've just backed up with an external hard drive for the first time, but my profile with my folders for photos, documents, and movies are not there

    Hello

So, I finally got an external hard drive. I formatted for Mac (the device has been verified as being correct), and then he started to do a backup, which stated that a full backup would take 95GB. However, it only supported 19GB.  When I have my 'open' backup drive, I saw that only 'Macintosh HD' received support upward, not my user profile with all my folders containing documents, photos, movies, etc...

I'm quite confused, because I thought that it would save.  I plan on Snow Leopard update to El Capitan, but if something is wrong or I don't like, I'm afraid that I won't be able to restore all my personal files - but only the applications that are on my Macintosh HD.

Should I delete everything in my backup disk and try again?

This is an image of what's inside my external hard drive:

You have not indicated how you have saved, if you've used Time Machine then you do things the hard way and you'll find very difficult TM. Please use the Time Machine interface to locate your saved data. You can benefit from the research on:

Use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac - Apple, Support the section you want to find is the restoration section.
