Is an upgrade to Win98 or Win 2000 on Satellite 315 possible?

My 315 satellite was delivered with Win 95. I would like to Win 98 or even Win 2000. Will they, they run on 315? If Yes, where can I get drivers for 315? They seem not to be available in the archive of the Toshiba driver. G.R. [email protected]

Hello

I checked the European pilot site and since the Satellite 315 is probably identical to the satellite 310 series, you should be able to install win98/2000.

There are drivers for Win95/98/NT (Windows 2000 architecture is like NT drivers * should * work, but without guarantee!).

The other thing is: you have to keep in mind that performance under Win2K wouldn be very good, so it would be better to throw Win98 on the machine.

See you soon

  • The upgrade of OS for Win 7 on Satellite Pro A210-1AZ

We have two machines that also work well on Vista 32 and we have increased the RAM on both.
They are very slow and all two defective CD/DVD players.
I want to solve the problem of the speed and would like to know if the upgrade to Windows 7 64 would make the machine run better.
All of the software and devices that we use are compatible.

I read the advice on the Web from Toshiba site on how to upgrade, but it lacks a lot of information.
For example how to deal with the HD partitions. There is the boot partition and the stupid E drive parition.
This is one aspect of these PC that has always annoyed me. Why split the drive C and E, it must be just C.
For example all Toshiba on the PC, things software applications for CD/DVD etc.?

If someone has done one of these jobs,

Replaced the CD/DVD drive - I can just adapt any drive or is there a special unit of Toshiba?

Replaced the hard - what type, size and the connection? Can I just buy any player? How do you get home? I was planning to take the old drive and put a new and install Win 7 on who - saves all them messing around with the update.

    Has anyone tried Linux?

    > For example how to deal with the HD partitions? There is the boot partition and the partition of drive E stupid.
I think that it of better to have two or more partitions only on the partition.
First of all, you can install the operating system (Win 7) on the C partition and other files like photos, movies, etc. can be stored on the second partition. Usually the operating system will ask you where you want to install the operating system. You can point to the C partition, only this partition should be formatted.
This means that not disappear your files on the second partition of HARD drive.
It is one of the benefits if you have more than one partition.

    > How to make all software Toshiba on the PC, applications for CD/DVD etc. things for example?
Toshiba software can be downloaded from the European pilot page Toshiba.
If you need drivers, then you should take a look here
If some drivers Win 7 would be missing, then you should look for in other models of laptops from Toshiba for a driver and tools. In many cases, the drivers of the other models would be compatible. In the worst case, you will need to search for and collect the drivers of your own hands using google.

    > Replaced the CD/DVD drive - I can just adapt any drive or is there a special unit of Toshiba?
No, you must use a compatible; This CD/DVD drive can be ordered from Toshiba ASP.

    > Replaced the hard - what type, size and the connection? Can I just buy any player? How do you get home?
You must use a SATA 2.5 HARD disk! SATA has no size limit, you should be able to use also 500 GB 2.5 SATA HDD.

In particular should all new drivers and if so where can I find em?
I'll back up my data, of course!

    Kind regards

    Hello Colin

Well. This unit is an oldie. As far as I know that it s about 6 years.
I think first of all, you must spend your BIOS. As far as I know the latest BIOS is
16.05.02 V. 8.20. Also I found the drivers for Windows 95/98/98SE/NT/2000. After the installation of the OS, you must install all of the necessary Toshiba drivers.

Sorry, after more research, you will need to upgrade your OPERATING SYSTEM to Windows XP, 7 or 8 (prefer Windows 7).

There is no driver that will support Windows 2000.

    Hi all

I recently installed a mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R SoC V1.004. The game won't start not even, instead, it gives me the following message:

This application is not compatible with the operating system installed.
Please upgrade to Windows 98SE, Windows 2000 or more.

I'm under Win 8 64 bit. I have uninstalled and rebooted twice (both game and mod) does not.

I have to downgrade to XP to be able to play this awesome mod, he ran on this platform with the same configuration before, why he now rejects it know not only the people at Ms.

    Please help if possible

    Thank you very much

    Pierre Viljoen

Probably, all in all probably is a 16-bit program, and as such does not work on Windows 8.0/8.1 64 bit. In addition, the game seems to have 20 years or more. You can try running in compatibility mode, but I think that the game is dead. Hope this helps and if you need help please post and we will be happy to help you.

    Hello
I try to install win 2000 pro on the laptop next - Satellite 4030 - I insert the CD and press and hold the 'C' key to boot from the Windows CD 2000 Setup screen appears and begins to install the drivers. The installer gets so far then the following message appears on the screen:

So, what do I have to Flash the BIOS with the latest version, or is it possible that I can work around that? I've done a few things with PC (built some etc etc) BUT I have never tried flashing the BIOS before and I heard that it can go very wrong! Any suggestion would be appreciated!

    Hi Marc,

If you update BIOS there are always good. The last, you can find on http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com under Support & Downloads Download BIOS.

This is the zip file, and there is also a text document that contains the BIOS update procedure. Follow this description, and you can do it with success.

  • Satellite L775 goes into BSOD after upgrade to 8.1 Win

    Hello

First of all, I have win7 on this device, so I bought a Microsoft windows 8 pro for her.
When I upgraded, it went well for a few months and then it started to plant on its own.

I tried so much to rebuild the PC using the Toshiba software without result.
In the end, I deleted all partitions and rebuilt with win8.
I've upgraded to win8.1 happens only at first sceen and turn it back on, even through there nothing installed.

When I re-made three times and finally I gave up and now at least it works with win8 just want
Toshiba software all ask. NET3.5, whereas I've got 4.5.

I went to several websites to find answer and he's talking about a method to turn the feature back on, but when I do it, it can't find the necessary files.

Now I would like to restart from scratch... where can I download the original software of tosh in a pack?
Or find a solution to this problem BSD

    Thank you.

Each upgrade system requires certain rules.
If you want to use the 8.1 to win on this laptop, you must first check if this system is available on this laptop.

On this page you will find details on the 8.1 Win
    http://www.Toshiba.EU/innovation/generic/windows8_1-message/

So in case you want to use Win 8.1 you must check if your phone model is supported.
If it s supported, you must follow the step by step instructions how to upgrade the system to Win 8.1. All Toshiba software tools and drivers need a Win 8.1 update

In the case of the caught Win isn t 8.1 supported on this laptop, Toshiba tools and utilities will not properly operate under this system.

  • Blue screen after upgrading to Win 8.1 - Satellite C850 - 17G

    A year ago, I bought a Satellite C850 - 17 G (PSKCCE) with Windows 7 pre-installed. For a small fee, I upgraded to Win 8. Worked well.

In November 2013, I wanted to do the free update to Win8.1. There I estimated at 2.5 months and a lot of reading on the forums to complete the upgrade to 8.1 Win. Everything worked fine for about 3 weeks.

Can I get some updated windows up-to-date pressed, restarted the laptop and it ended the history of success.
Blue screen and I had this option was to force back to the factory settings.
So here I am again with Windows 7.

On the Toshiba site, I see now that my model of laptop, Satellite C850 with part No. PSKCCE is not a model of support for the update 8.1 Win. Can someone tell me why?

It will support in the future?

    > On the Toshiba site, I see now that my model of laptop, Satellite C850 with part No. PSKCCE is not a model of support for the update 8.1 Win

Hmm, I guess you're wrong because on the Toshiba UE driver page I could find drivers Windows 8.1 for the Satellite C850 PSKCCE
    http://www.Toshiba.EU/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

BSOD issues are really bothersome, because this can happen due to hardware malfunction or also due to problems of system or driver.
Same 3rd party software could affect systems

That's why it very difficult to say what might cause this problem without checks unique pieces, the pilot, and the reporting system.

  • HP Pavilion dv8000 upgrade to 8.1 Win

The laptop is supposed to have a 64-bit processor.  I tried to upgrade to 8.0 Win to Win 8.1but I get the message that I can not upgrade because my processor is not able to upgrade because of something lacking in the CPU as NX or free SES.

HP, somehow forgot to inform the owners or the customer of this defect.  In the hope of not having a problem, I lost my previous operating system, Windows XP Pro.  It's not even an audio driver for Win 8.0.  Very disappointed and considering the abandonment of HP.

Once again, the age of this model and the installed hardware, Windows 8.1 is not compatible. Windows Vista 32-bit is supported by HP, as they provided drivers. Windows 7 32 bits may be compatible with the 32-bit Vista drivers at the address provided. Windows 7 64 bit, Windows 8 32-bit and 64-bit 8 may be partially compatible with the drivers provided natively and via Windows update.

  • Get the Windows on Win 2000 folder paths

I downloaded the windows_folder_path.vi of the site OR, where I see that 'this VI is supported on Windows 2000, XP and Vista.»
