Is impossible to recover the Satellite M35-S456

Hello

I have a Satellite M35-S456 of Toshiba laptop purchased in the USA in 2004.
It came with recovery-DVD which includes the WIN XP Home Edition operating system.

The hard drive is broken and must be replaced by the new hard drive. I bought the replacement (for Toshiba) drive from an independent retailer in the city and tried to apply recovery-DVD to install WIN XP. It does not at all. Installation data fron DVD the disk copy has been posssible, but then the screen stays black and silent.

I've heard rumors that Toshiba installs a certain image on the HDD when laptop fate of plant.
This image is necessary whenever you want to re - install WIN XP Recovery DVD.

However, the replacement drive does not have this image.
Installation of WIN XP with my DVD of recovery seems impossible at the moment.

What can I do now?
All I need is a new disc that allows using my recovery DVDs for the reinstallation of the operating system.

Can someone please help?

Best,
Christian2180

Only the new series of laptops is equipped with HARD drive recovery option and the image of Toshiba is placed on the second partition.
But your oldie was delivered with Toshiba Recovery CD and you might recover the laptop using the recovery disk.
Usually you simply boot from that disk and the recovery procedure should begin.

If your recovery disk is broken or failures, then you could use a CD simply Microsoft Windows and could boot from that disk.
The Toshiba drivers needed could be downloaded on the page of the Toshiba driver us because this model seems to be an American series.

    Hey I have a problem.

I tried to restore my Toshiba Satellite A300-1QD parameters by pressing the F8 key.

I don't know why, but maybe the computer got overheated or something, but I've had enough battery life.
Then I tried to turn it on again and it is said there may have been some damage and he said I should put a "a CD to install Windows" as a first step, step says that I should choose a language, and step 3 says I should click on REPAIR.
HE DIDN'T THERE HAS NO OTHER OPTIONS.

Then he said: if I do not have the CD, I must contact the producer.
As I remember, I do not have any what CD with my Toshiba when I bought a year or two ago.
All I have is a yellow mini CD that says DISK of DRIVER on it.

Is anyone of you know if a recovery CD is shipped with Toshiba Satellite A300?

You didn t get the recovery disk because there was an option to create the recovery disk clean you had to read the user manual
The preinstalled tool called Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator can create a recovery disk
Now it s too late you are not able to boot the system

    In this case, you must order the recovery disk;
    Here you can do;

    Hello

Where did you get the drivers?
As far as I know, this is an American unit and you must download the driver form Toshiba site us.
The driver for the touchpad is NOT responsible for the FN keys and not the buttons of Toshiba.
You need Toshiba controls to use the buttons. If you want to use the FN keys, you will need different drivers as Toshiba hotkey utility to use the FN + F5 key combination.

But nevertheless I advise to use the Toshiba Recovery CD for this problem.

  • How to recover the Satellite A100 without recovery disk

    Hi all

I'm trying to restore my laptop A100 settings * without * a restore CD via pressing a sequence of buttons during startup (which must launch the recovery on the hard drive partition).

It is really unfortunate, I know it can be done as I did before butI for the life of me forgotten what was this key sequence I can't find the article I stumbled initially on!

I've scoured the web looking for this key sequence and all the proposed solutions, I fell on do not seem to work.

    Unsuccessful attempts so far:
    -Press and hold 0 power
    -various suggest 'F' keys: F1, F8, F10
    -now the delete key

Note: I guess it may be worth mentioning that pressing F8 actually take me on-screen "start options advanced windows" but I don't have any recovery options.

Yeh Yes, I'd * extremely * grateful if someone could point me in the right direction here because it makes me crazy... the fact that I've done this before, it that much worse!

    > I'm trying to restore my laptop A100 to the factory without the recovery CD settings via pressing a sequence of buttons during startup (which must launch the recovery on the hard drive partition).

As I know the A100 series has not been fitted with the recovery of HARD drive partition!
And so I doubt that any combination of keys will start the partition recovery!

So you only chance to recover the laptop is to take the recovery disk, then boot from it.
You can also try to install the disk Microsoft Windows operating system and then could install the drivers of Toshiba on the pilot site of Toshiba!

    See you soon

  • Satellite M35-S456: Impossible to reinstall WINDOWS!

Laptop crashed and I am forced to reinstall windows using the recovery CD. When I put it in the drive and start the computer, it says that this will delete all your files F1 to continue or F2 to cancel. I press F1, then he said: press C to continue or has the demolition. I press C, and then immediately restart the laptop and begins the process of starting from the CD again and begin the installation again, its a never ending cycle.

    Help, please!

    Hello

I agree with James. You suggested that your laptop has crashed. I guess that's the HARD disk head crash. In this case, there is nothing to see. The HARD drive is dead and you need a new.
What you can do is to check the BIOS if the disc is recognized correctly.

  • Satellite M35-S456: no right to run the Power Saver & FN keys does not work

    Hello

I've had this laptop for a few years now, and just recently the comp crashed and required a complete reformat. I lost my recovery CD (let a friend borrow it and he got lost somewhere) and had to use just reformat using my Windows XP pro CD

After that, I went to the toshibas website and downloaded many utilities that came with my laptop originally, but I'm having a few problems of.

    1. I can't use Power Saver. Whenever I try to open it, it says: "Cannot open because you don't have access rights to open"toshiba Power Saver""
2 - function keys do not work. The light comes on, but nothing happens when I press a button

And without people, I cannot adjust the brightness (among others) and we tried everything that I can find

Someone has ideas how solve these two problems, or know where I can get a copy of the recovery CD

    Thank you

    Hello

Form where you download the Toshiba tools and utilities?
It seems that your laptop has been delivered only to the United States and you must use the tools and the American pilots.

    You know the page?

    Visit this link:
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/Su/su_sc_home.jsp

I think you used the wrong drivers and tools or if you have not installed the applications in the right order.

PS; Remember that you are logged on as administrator or if you have an administrator rights before you try to run the installation

Is knowledge how laptop computer recovery without a disk?

I am new to this problem
So please if you know how to do
Note please the specific details to show me how to

    Thank you!

    Hello!

First of all, you should check the user manual. There you can find all the details on how to recover a Toshiba laptop.

In any case, if your laptop came without recovery disk you can create one using the Toshiba recovery disc creator. That's why you need one or two DVDs and then you have factory on a DVD.
If you created the recovery disk, you can boot from it and follow the instructions on the screen. Windows will be reinstalled, and you get back to factory settings.

But you can also recovery a Toshiba laptop without recovery disk. So go to the F8 advanced boot menu and choose fix my computer. Now, you can choose the Toshiba Recovery option and follow the instructions on the screen.

If you have any other questions, you can search a bit in the forum. You will find a sufficient number of threads on the recovery procedure.
In addition, you must check this document:

  • How to recover the Satellite L to get back on Vista?

    Hiya,

My son has recovered a part a little Trojan, it only would not let us go in safe mode or restore. The only thing we could do was to completely clear all & use the disks to reinstall again. Simple normally... but this time it wont run something else that XP now, I tried 5 times to reinstall from backup disks to return to Vista and it freezes just the farthest, I managed to get was the installation of updates, but it froze once again to 25% on the portion of the Net framework update.

His market on XP at full speed now, but if I try to put Vista slot via the backup of disks it takes about 5 minutes so he can perform an action, slow is not the word.

I want to just go back to Vista and now completely lost, why used it keep running Vista?

    Anyone any idea?

    Hello

If I understand your question; you have installed Win XP on the laptop, but you want to install Vista, but Vista freezes and is slow is it good?

What cell phone do you have?
As far as I know the books supports the new SATA controller.
This means that you need the SATA driver to install the Windows operating system.

You can change the compatible SATA mode in the BIOS. This will allow you to install the Vista and other operating systems Windows without the SATA drivers, BUT this will slow down the performance of the HARD disk!
This is perhaps the reason for your question

I bought the recovery disc for my Satellite L350-370 followed instructions beginning now stopped program to "waiting for odd vacancies" moment for this strange worked perfectly.

Laptop only if off now and no keys work.

    Help!

I really don't understand what is happening here. I used the disc of recovery many times and I've never seen this message.
By default the BIOS settings and restart your laptop. When the laptop starts up and you see Toshiba welcome screen press F12 repeatedly to enter the boot menu. When the start menu is shown on the screen, place the recovery in the optical disc drive disk. After doing this choose the CD/DVD drive and press ENTER. What happens when you do this?

ODD must begin to read the recovery disk and you should see recovery on the screen menu.

  • Re: How to recover the Satellite L30-10s?

How can - I make my satellite L30-10 s to exit the restore box settings?

    Hello

I think that HDD recovery isn't possible since this is a very old notebook and I guess for this series, HARD drive recovery were not available.

So you have only one option to retrieve the computer laptop back to factory settings: you need the recovery disc.
If you n t have this disk, you will not be able to put the computer laptop back to factory settings. I think that its no longer possible to order the recovery disk because of the age of the laptop.

    So what to do?
You can use only a clean installation of Microsoft disk in order to install the system.
The essential drivers or tolls are available on the page of the Toshiba UE driver.
