Is it better to transfer usb2, eSATA (or usb3) in small quantities or large amounts of data? Corrupted data?

Not sure if this should be in performance/maintenance or hardware/drivers.

Hello. I was wondering about the usb2, eSATA and a bit on the usb3. I have usb2 and eSATA on my systems.

Someone I work with told me that there may be corrupted data if you transfer a large amoutns of data via Usb2. It is best to break your files to move, copy, etc., he said. My colleague told me earlier that anything more than 30 or 40 GB start to be transferred correctly from external factors or for some reason any.

These issues apply to eSATA or Usb3? I guess not, since these other methods are designed to transfer large amounts of data.

Is this true? Is this due to material limitations? What is the recommended size of transfer? It's Windows XP, Vista or 7 limits?

Any info or links are appriciated.

Thank you.

I have never heard of something like this before and have done some fairly large data movements in the past.  I would recommend using the program Robocopy in Windows Vista/Windows 7 (and available for Windows XP as a download add-on) to drag the move instead of type / move, given that Robocopy includes a number of features and security provisions that are not present in the case.

  • Large amount of transfer of songs in a desktop folder

    Hello

I'm trying to copy approximately 6000 songs from iTunes on a folder on my desktop. I was able to copy about 250 songs and then it allows me to copy over. When I drag and drop songs from iTunes on the record, nothing happened. I'm trying to create a subdirectory in the folder and paste it here, nothing happened. I create another folder on my desktop and tried to paste, nothing happened. But if I just do one song at a time, he copied.

    What will be the reason?

Suggestions or comments are much appreciated.

It's your library or a playlist it contains? If a playlist, you can export the list to a file XML, then shift-start-Tunes to create a new library on a different path, import the XML playlist and consolidate the media in the media of the new library folder. Then, you'd be able to do everything you want to do with this subset of files without affecting the original library.

  • Problems with Windows Easy Transfer

I tried several times to use file transfer for my old HP XP on my new HP Vista computer files.  First time I made "all user files" and stopped to transfer to half way and says that my D: drive is complete on the new Vista.  So, I made a start to recovery to factory settings and tried again.

Second time I tried to transfer, I disabled the D: drive and tried to keep it short, not as many files.  He transferred what I asked for, but these files under a separate user.  And once again, flashing at me my D: drive is very low on space.

I did another system of recovery, but it did not work.  D: drive is always full.  I do another system of recovery currently see.  I negligence has not set a restore point before you start.  Women for the India tech support was no help at all.

What I am doing wrong?  Why Easy Transfer work "easily"?  I have so many games, movies, and music on my XP I can't copy on disk since I don't have a burner to work.  I'm not so concerned about the transfer of parameters like many music, although I hate to lose all my favorites in outlook express and web pages.

    Thanks for any help.

You can burn your data on CD/DVD or a Flash dive allows you to transfer data.

Here's info from MS on how to use it:

    Windows Easy Transfer

    Buy an easy transfer cable

You can buy a cable easy transfer of many computer manufacturers or retailers. To make sure that the cable is designed for Windows Easy Transfer, be sure to look for a "Certified for Windows Vista" logo or the "Works with Windows Vista" on the packaging.

Buy a cable easy transfer now at Windows Marketplace

Windows Easy Transfer allows you to easily move the files and settings stored on your PC under Windows 2000, Windows XP, or even Windows Vista to a new PC running Windows Vista. Windows Easy Transfer will automatically transfer things like:

    • User accounts

    • Files and folders

    • Contacts, settings, and e-mail messages

    • Photos, music and videos

    • Windows settings

    • Program data files and settings

    • Internet settings

There are several ways that you can use Windows Easy Transfer; Choose how you prefer to connect your two computers, select the data you want to transfer, then let Windows Easy Transfer do the work for you.

    Easy transfer cable

A single cable is a special USB cable that is designed to work with Windows Easy Transfer by creating a direct link between your old PC and new PC. One of these cables is the most simple and fast method for the transfer and is recommended if you do not have access to a network. An easy transfer cable will transfer data from the PC running Windows XP or Windows Vista on a PC running Windows Vista.

    • Install the small software application provided with your cable (or download here) on your current PC.

    • Connect the cable to both computers.

    • Windows Easy Transfer will launch and guide you through the transfer process. Your information and files will transfer at approximately 20 GB per hour.

Use a home network or small business

If you already have a wired or wireless network, it's a great way to transfer all your data. You can use your network to transfer your data in real-time on your network or by using a shared folder on the network.

    Using an external hard drive

If you have an external hard drive, Windows Easy Transfer can copy your data on this drive and then copy the data from the drive to your new computer.

With the help of CD or DVD

Windows Easy Transfer can use your CD or DVD burner PC to transfer your data. This solution is not ideal, but can work well if you move only a small amount of data that can fit on a single disc. If you have a large amount of data that does not fit on a disc, it is possible to use this transfer method using multiple disks.

  • Data transfer between PC and device

    Hello

I need an advisor. I was wondering what would be the best way to transfer data from the PC to a connected device?

Here's the scenario: I need to download a large amount of data from a web service. To do this, I use a small application installed on the user's PC. Once the data is downloaded and converted, the application converts it to an xml file. I would push this file or string with the XML itself to the device that will be connected through the USB port.

In addition, the scenario reversed: I can access the PC to the device file system?

    Thank you

    Daniel

    Hi Daniel,.

You just need to synchronize data between PC and device and device to the PC. I'm wrong?

There are 2 ways to do it.

    (1) Intellisync APIs, (Director of office requires)-net.rim.device.api.synchronization

    (2) USB connection. (Doesn't require no Office Manager)-use streamConnection

You will get the USBsample in samples of JDE. I guess that as the example of synchronization is in examples of JDE applications.

  • Wireless disconnects the transfer of large files

    Hello

When large amounts of data transfer (in one or several files - no difference) of my D520 wireless on my desktop via a belkin F5D7632v1000 drops wireless connection and the transfer stops. Happens usually somewhere between 30 and 100 MB. When falls and displays cannot restore, connect by clicking on OK re - find the network again. I had this problem once on an old HP laptop and it was something to do with needing old drivers for the wireless card. The map in this particular laptop is a Dell 1390. Driver 4.100.15.5.

Now, I had this before, when I had a laptop to work the same and had diversity of main antennas set in advanced settings for the card and I disabled the IBSS 54 g protection mode. However, this doesn't do the trick. Unfortunately, I don't have access to check the other settings in the advanced wireless adapter properties. Does anyone have a failsafe of the advanced settings of the adapter set? See you soon.

  • A few questions on the framework of the actor

    Hi all

I tried to get my head under the actor and begins to see the light at the end of this tunnel-no need of sunglasses right away, because I have a few questions remaining:

    1. data transfer :

So far I've had a quick glance the evaporative cooler model and actor model, as well as worked through the LabVIEW actor Framework Basics by labvolution. These examples are pretty clear for me now. What I don't understand though, is how you are supposed to provide "real" data These examples use only references and then update using the "value" property This may not be very fast, but is probably still enough for user interface applications. But what happens if I have a player who generates data by reading example of a card and I have, let's say, want to detach this far from the data backup process in a file. How I would pass large amounts of data between stakeholders effectively.

    2. using the framework of the actor with RT:

In presentations to the AF, I saw that they always mentioned that it was completely "capable RT. While this may well be true for the RT itself system, yet once I wonder how to transfer data from an actor of the RT of a player in Windows. Yet once again, suppose I want to generate data on a cRIO and save that data on the host PC. I will establish a channel of communication between the target myself by network flow or similar? It defies any sort of encapsulation of the AF in my opinion...

    3. set the actors:

However, what worries me the most, is the definition of the actors. How can you know what is a player in your system? Each card set as an actor? Define you each device as an actor and consolidate all I/o to the breast? Is there an easy way to know how to set the actors?

    4. technical support:

While working with the examples, I found that the debugging can be quite difficult. I had several cases of "Not executable Subvi" this point through several other live who finally call something dyynamically and from there, you discover that one of your screw is broken. Is there an easy to know what is the problem? I know there are modules for LabVIEW that are designed to turn on debugging part of the actor, but who would not be available in a review of the CLA, where you will have only a base installation of LabVIEW.

    5 root and nested actors:

Finally, I wonder what root and nested average actor. So far my understanding is that the actor root is the parent actor you cast in the launch of VI and nested the actors are all children who serve the actor parent and are, most of the time, launched since the actor-actor of parent nucleus. Is this correct? Is there a better definition of it?

Any help on this is greatly appreciated. I'm looking forward to the discussion and interested if you frequently use the framework of the actor or if you have abandoned it even once after using it.

    See you soon,.

    Pete

A good place to ask the question in the framework of the actor is in the community:

And Yes, I've used and uses the framework of the actor.

  • Questions about serial port read and write at the same time

Hi I create a user interface for the communication serial port, where there are essentially 2 front panels, where the user enters commands one and the other where the prints of UART is delivered. I thought initially using a state machine but the reading and writing may be independent sometimes and so I can't rely on States. I searched a bit on the forum and he left me even more confused. Help, please.

    (1) in a thread that sessions visa duplicated has been used for writing and reading at the same time, is it recommendable? How will this affect performance?

    (2) essentially when the vi is reading data are it must constantly view as well, however, someone said that it takes too much memory to use shift registers, so how do I go about this? If using a State in queue after the loop of reading it affects the playback loop and be sequential?

In addition anyway is to move the cursor to the latest data from the indicator

    (3) for the control of the user input, assumes that the user has entered an order in the control and press ENTER, then writing visa is launched, but if it comes in another string and press enter then write must be called again... is - it possible? will detect the previous commands in the control of compensation?

    (4) according to my understand the expectation for the event do not monopolize resources and writing can go in parallel, am I right?

Thank you. I have attached a very basic vi which took me to the point, but I want to make it more robust. Please help especially in the part of the user interface.

    su_a,

    (1) you can have only one session to a port. Several UART can handle full duplex so performance is not affected.  At flow rates of high data and large amounts of data, buffering and latencies of BONE can become a problem.

    (2) who told you that shift registers using too much memory? Shift registers are usually the best way to transfer data from one iteration to another. String concatenation inside a loop (registry to offset or not) causes the chain to develop and may require re-allocation of memory.  Your VI never clears the string so its cold length become very large.

Generally, you do not have an active cursor on an indicator.  If you want to always display the most recently received characters and turn on the vertical scroll bar use a property node to keep scrolls to the bottom.  This can be annoying for users if they attempt to manually move the scroll bar and find that the program continues to move it back automatically.

    (3) if the user has changed the value in the chain of command, when he hits enter the modified value event fires.  Simply strike brace does not change the value and does not trigger the event.  Not control need to be erased, but the value that he has to change.  If you want to send the same command again, have a button send a command may be a better choice.

    (4) write is a case of the event.  It is not in parallel with anything.  The structure of the event do not monopolize resources.  The other loop will run while it waits.

The event loop will not stop when you press the STOP button. Probably it wll take two command: change events of value after JUDGMENT before any loop stops.  Replace the Timeout event (which never expires) with a STOP: value change event and a real wire of this judgment to the Terminal endpoint.  Remove the local variable.  Make mechanical locking when released.

  • Data are automatically downloaded to the computer.

    Original title: automatic download

    Hello

I am facing a problem about automatic download of data. Even if my computer does not all tasks over the internet, by clicking on 'View network status' I see that bytes are received. What happens for each internet connection. However, speed is not affected. I can surf and download stuff pretty quickly. I disabled automatic updates and notifications of the app. I have Norton Antivirus and a complete analysis of the system has not revealed any virus.
I am unable to change the Sync settings on connections inhalers option and I think that the problem is perhaps due to this. It is 'ON '. I can't change it because whenever I try to log in my Microsoft Account users, after entering my email address, I get "Please Wait". I want to know why I'm getting this and how I can solve this problem.
If you think that the automatic download is due to something else (like a virus, perhaps), please tell me what to do. Because of this problem my internet Bill is going through the roof. If someone can provide a solution I will be immensely grateful.

Thanks for the help of microwave blue. The problem was caused by a spyware. He was automatically transfer large amounts of data. I solved the problem by following these steps:

    1. I uninstalled Norton Internet Security, because I had the feeling that for some reason he was not be able to detect the virus that was responsible for large data transfers.
    2. I have activated Windows Defender and updated.
