Is it possible to free up space on my IPhone by moving the files to JUST my icloud?

For example, with a 16 GB IPhone 6s and I really only get about 11 GB. I had the phone for less than a month and am already low on storage. I bought 50 GB of storage icloud but do not see the point so when I delete something from my phone will remove the cloud as well. Is there a way to keep some photos/videos on JUST the cloud?

iCloud doesn't really work like that. It's work is to synchronize them between your device and the cloud, not store them on the only cloud.

Use Dropbox.

    Hello

I have an iPhone 6 and uses iOS 9.3.2,and I recently deleted all my pictures and videos to free up space, "Manage the storage" in still however said circles I 23.4 GB of photos/videos like iTunes when I connect my iPhone to my Mac. I deleted my recently deleted folder and follow the instructions of a guy showing a year, which suggests to set my phone date about two years back and deleting the photos recently deleted the file and both of these solutions do not work. I have reset my phone (home and power button operation / stop) and also, it does not work. I don't want to wipe my phone and restore it if possible, but it's the only option I can think of next.

Are there other solutions before I try this?

    Thanks in advnace

    Hey Ben,

Thanks for stopping by the communities Support from Apple! Looks like you are trying to free up space on your iPhone by deleting all the photos and videos, and you still see 23.4 GB absorbed by these files. You have already made sure to empty your recently deleted album, fix the date of return on your phone and performed a hard reset on your device. You did an excellent job so far, and I'll be happy to give you some ideas to move forward from here.

Before diving into other troubleshooting procedures, it would be useful to ensure that you have a recent backup of your iPhone is available. This will help us ensure that all your important data is stored safely for you. Here is an article with information on how to backup your device:

The backup of your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

Once it is in place, I recommend you to reset the settings on your phone. This is not the impact of your personal data, but you will have to perhaps adjust the user specific settings, but also re - enter passwords and Wi - Fi networks. To complete this step, go to settings > general > reset > reset all settings. When you restart your phone, check if the local storage on your phone has updated to reflect the changes you did related to your photos and videos.

Beyond that, you want to look at your phone erase and reset to the factory settings. It is possible that some kind of software corruption causes the divergence of storage that you are experiencing. Set up your phone as a new device via iTunes install a new copy of iOS and also to exclude the corrupted files, etc. in your user data. This is a resource for this process:

Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod to factory settings

For later use, it may be useful to use iCloud photo library to transfer and store your photos. There is a feature that allows you to optimize the storage on your iPhone so that your photos and your videos do not have as much local storage space. • How can I free up space on my C drive without dumping files I need to power my computer? Windows XP 2002

How can I free up space on my C drive without dumping files I need to power my computer? I have currently 40,4 GB used and I don't know how or what is out there that I don't need? I have a backup of system restore that takes a lot of space, but Im saying that I can not remove it by a pop-up box that says access denied even though I have since transferred it on my external backup hard drive. Can someone please help? Thank you

{You can remove C:\{folder-name with lots of letters and numbers like this: 2b4892ncf73d63db37db37}------(these files are temporary and have been created by installers)
    C:\Temp
    C:\Documents and Settings\\temp
    C:\Documents andSettings\Temp Settings\
C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\ (all the folders inside this folder)

To remove manually restore points, you will need to login to safe mode and change the permissions in the Security tab of the restore point. However, I do not recommend this.

Read this article on how to remove safely restore points:

  • If I decrease my first partition where I installed my windows 7 which has 100 GB of space available go I lose all the files of the OS or data?

    Hello

If I decrease my first partition on which I have installed windows 7, which has 100 GB of available space, will I in bulk all the files of the OS or data on my first partition?

    Thank you

    Johan

    Johan,

Before you begin this task, assume that you will lose everything.

Make a system image - see link on the left side of the opening screen of Windows backup.

Make a disc repair system [this can also be done starting from a link on the opening screen of the Windows backup] or a Windows 7 installation disc to use to restore this image if necessary.  Then test that you can boot from it before starting the main task.

I resized a partition with no problems successfully, but there is a risk of serious or even catastrophic problems.

    Good luck

Unfortunately, if you see messages that say you're low disk space, you will probably need to have a bigger drive installed on your computer.  This shouldn't be very expensive.

In the meantime, you can delete files using the disk cleanup tool in Windows (click here to see a video how-to):

    1. click on start, then click my computer
    2. right click on 'disk Local (c)' and then click on properties (at the bottom of the menu that opens).
    3. click on the button that says "Disk Cleanup".
    4. When you get to the list of the types of files to remove, if one of the lines, says "Office installation files" do not check that.  Otherwise, you can check all the boxes.
    5. Once you have ticked the boxes, click on the OK button.

The process can take a long time.

  • Try to free up space on a hard drive in the red.

I have Vista Home Premium.  I have a 240 GB hard drive.  A very large part is occupied by 2 files, 81,0 concert a piece.  I took a lot of photos and music out of this player and all unused programs.  These backup files is so great? I doubt I have 81,0 gig of programmes across by car.  A way to safely remove?  {The files are as follows: C:\N360_BACK\{A3BB98C1-B6DA-43C9-8ECD-4DA5BFC7A8E5}.    C:\N360_BACK\DRIVE_C.     There is also the file that appears to be a normal backup file of meg 2 named backup.@db in the same folder.   These files were created in 2007 and 2008.

If there is no FREE program would you recommend for this type of operation?  Please notify.

Thanks to all the help, I cleaned up my hard drive.  It turned out to be crazy backup of the two Norton became old files.

Because you guys are frappeurs.1000 let me ask another question.  When I followed your steps above I go a step further and trying to do a disk defrag.  He would never start.  I even tried to schedule one for later, but it would never start.  I don't know if it's related but I also tried to look at all my start up programs to thin them down to the must have.  It would allow me to end with some, but not others, as the case wouldn't let me do anything.  His action as an Adminstrative thing but I am logged in as admin.   Virus, spyware, adware... etc?

  • Have no disk space in Vista and cannot locate the files to the origin of this

At first when I noticed that my hard drive was full that I followed the tips shown on the wire "A NO DISK SPACE" by Rajesh S.  After doing all that I gained about 1 GB of space back.  I'm on Internet Explorer, ventured to a few sites, remove the brower and closed browser history.  Check how much space was left and the 1 GB has been reduced to 125MB.  Angry, I compressed my C:.  That's when I noticed several files (.swf, .htm, .mp4, .flv, and .png) that should have been deleted, but were not.  After the decompression the C: understood under what his screenname located.

Now my problem is that I had a general situation where they should be, but when I explored the region I couldn't find no trace files.  I even ran a search later on one of the files I copied down and could not take his foot. (I am the admin of this cpu).

Hi due to some problems of space I took the offline tablespace, then move the file to a location different and introduced the online storage space after renaming. After all this, the space used for the file system is always the same. How can I get the space freed up?

    Hello

I'd be willing to bet that a core oracle process holds the lock (e.g. dbwr). use lsof (open list) command on each one and you should get the info or perhaps fuser.

  • How can I stop OE 'compress files to free disk space,'

How can I prevent the notice OE ("compression of files to free up disk space"), constantly arise. I moved the cd, deleted files, shortcuts to files, etc., and I still get this pop up to compress files.  very annoying.   Help

Have let you compact? Disk space is not recovered until you do. Let compact, you should not see the prompt again for 100 closures of OE. If you see more often, after the return. If not, read this.

    *******************

Why OE insists on compacting folders when I close it? :
    http://www.insideoe.com/FAQs/why.htm#compact

    About file Corruption:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/IE/community/columns/filecorruption.mspx

Compacting your folders periodically is a must to keep OE works fine and at some point, you may lose all your saved messages if you do not. When you delete or move messages, the space they used remains until you compact.

Never touch anything until the compression is finished.* *.

    See:
    www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#2

With SP2, Automatic compaction in the background has been removed because of problems he has caused. Now, you will get a prompt to compact after 100 closures of OE, you need to do, and do not touch anything until it's finished. If you compact manually, at your convenience, this will also set the counter to zero. See this for more information:
    http://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm#compact

If you are fully patched, you will now see a copy of your dbx files copied to the Recycle Bin as BAK files. If something goes wrong when compacting, the messages can be easily restored from this backup. A compact manual resets also the counter in the back of the registry to zero now.

To keep things running smooth and harden faster:

Do not archive mail in default OE folders. It will eventually become corrupt and you may lose mail. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.

    And backup often.

1 did you regular disk cleanup?

    Here's a tutorial for disk cleanup: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/76073-disk-cleanup.html

The tutorial has made 2 parts.
The 1st part is the classic disk cleanup which will give you back some dsik spaces.
The 2nd part (more Options) is to remove all of your points except the most recent restoration. This will give bring you a ton of disk space. ATTENTION: you need to do TR = ure it not there no probem with your computer before you use more Options, because you won't restore to fall back on 'old' points.

    2. recommend installing CCleaner.
    It's free.
Use it regularly and it will help recover you a lot of disk space back.
Attention, DO NOT use the register option. Saty away from him.

Here is the download link: http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner

3 invest in an external hard drive. Move all your personal files, such as picrures, documents, videos and program downloads on the external hard drive. Which will free up tons of space.
An external hard drive of 1 TB of capacity can be had for less than $ 150. 500 GB will be even cheaper.

You cannot delete the photos and keep them in iCloud photo library.

You can reclaim space on your phone with: settings > Photos & camera > optimize iPhone storage that keeps the smaller version, more low resolution on the phone and original version enlarged in iCloud.
