Is it possible to import Raw files into the LR catalog...... including all changes in an external file raw editor such as Capture One?

Is it possible to import Raw files into the LR catalog...... including all changes in an external file raw editor such as Capture One?

I can import the Raw file successfully, but can't see all the changes that have been applied in Capture One. IM assuming not, but just to check.

Your assumption is correct, Capture One, Lightroom and other third party raw processors have their own exclusive process and profiles to render the raw data.

They do not make permanent changes to the raw data and save changes to a .xmp file or to a Lightroom catalog file.

I'll provide too much information because those of us who are computer knuckleheads think that everything is important since it is a mystery to us.

My main computer crashed and the data has been retrieved from the hard drive, including all of my Outlook Express dbx files. There are four years of e-mails in these files and critical that I be able to open them.

My only working computer running XP. It has Outlook Express is installed on it and was once used for e-mail, but not more and not implemented with my ISP to send or receive if it matters at all. Other that the sending and receiving of all the other functions of the OE program appear to be operational.

I have read many explanations on how to open the files dbx on different sites - all is completely different and most seem well beyond my skill level.

There is a fairly painless way to open these files? I don't want to try anything that could damage them. Please... any solution please guide me through in its simplest form - I am 64 but pretend you are explaining the process to a 7 year old. Yes, I'm that lame!

Sorry for writing a novel and thank you to all who take their time to help the ignorant!

I advise you to immediately copies of your DBX files restored. Save the duplicates in a place safe, and don't mess with them.
Then try using one of the various tutorials that you have found on the Internet by using a copy of your DBX files restored.
I did it a few times, but years ago and I DBX http://www.techrepublic.com/forums/questions/how-i-open-corrupted-dbx-files-in-oe/ visualization tool

As long as you have these unchanged copies of backup of your DBX files, you should survive it - other than frustration. Email PC remains a mess.

  • Is it possible to import image files directly into an open document?

Is it possible to import a series of image files, say jpegs, directly in an open document, rather than having to open all image files with drag-and - move each individual in the open document? Specifically, I'm a dentist and I often get sent to me by other offices digital x-ray images. But they come as 16 or 18 separate image files and I need to put them in a virtual "chest x-ray: mount", so I can see them all at once, rather than having to open all images and alternate between them. So I opened a blank document in PS (CS4), then I navigate to the folder that contains all the image files that I received, select all and open them all. In PS, I can now click on each tab of the image and drag the image into the void "montage" and close the image. This new image would then become its own layer in the document 'mount '. But I must repeat this 18 times for each patient. I thought that if there was a way to open the new document "mount" and then select all of the image files and 'import' somehow all image directly in the document - essentially "automate" - which would save me time and aggravation cargo! Anyone out there have any suggestions? Thank you very much!! Dr G.

Yes, but after you have all your images as layers in a new document, that you can simply select all the layers of-> and then drag them to your document in one fell swoop.

  • import audiobook CDs into the section of iTunes audiobooks

iMac late 2015 on El Capitan 10.11.4. iTunes 12.3.3.17.

What is the best way to import CDs audiobook directly in the iTunes audio book section, making it appear like a book?

Are there settings in iTunes or system preferences that will help you? Audiobook all CDs are original CDs owned by me and in good shape.

So far, I imported a book on 12 CDs into iTunes. He went in the section music as 12 separate albums. I found how to go to the "Get Info" section to change the music to the Audiobook tag label to pass above the section of audio book.

Now I have 12 separate books in the audio books section. How to combine these files appear as a book, now that I have them in audio books? I'm not familiar with iTunes, but can all these combine into one? Or is what makes them all a Playlist the only option? Is there a combination to do in music before moving on to audio books? I saw the reference to attach files, but do not know, it applies?

Is there a way to make it easier on the server front end and put in place to mount directly in the end and audio books as a big book instead of 12 partial books?

Any help is appreciated... I have a large import library and would like to make things. Thanks in advance...

I use a free app called Audiobook Builder, works a treat

  • Impossible to import new photos to the default catalog in LR3, 5

    Hello!

I'm in LR3, 5 on OSx10.5.8 and recently, I lost the ability to import new photos (from hard disk). My default catalog (so far I use only) contains pictures of appx.33k and I can't import to new shots. Yesterday I was shooting tethered camera and everything went well. Today, I wanted to import new files (from disk) and noticed that 'import button' is totally inactive. Dead. I have implemented a new catalog and managed to process the photos today, but when I switch to the previous catalogue the 'import' button is always dead.

    Thoughts? Ideas? Help, please!

    Thank you in advance!

I try to rename/move the preferences file and see if it helps. I see that you have exported the entire catalog as a catalogue. The exported catalog normal behavior?

BTW, your histogram looks funny too!

  • Is it possible to import video files 5 K in CS4

I'm trying ot import photo time is hit decline I transcode in

uncompressed video files 5 k (roughly). I can import them currently only 3 k but but it appears to reject the larger files.

What is the dimension of the wise actual video size limit?

I search everywhere and cannot find an answer. Is it possible to increase this limit?

Time differences are shot on a Canon 7 d and the dimensions are 5184 x 3456. He also always rejects images of this size.

    The size still CS4 max is 4096 x 4096

    CS5 max is top - 10, 000 x 8, 000:

I remember vaguely questions whether it has lower limits in certain circumstances.

I suspect that it is also a limit to the size of the video image in an office setting, but I'm not sure about this.

  • Is it possible to import a project into an existing project - PRE 8

Hello. The last time I did a lot with video editing was a couple of years back using the Premiere 6.5 full version

At the time, you can create a number of projects as parts of the complete solution. Then when you when it is ready to create the full movie would incorporate you the various projects in the time line.

Is it possible in the first elements V8? I looked around but found nothing.

If this is not the case, how do you deal with projects very long? Move sections on a track that is unique?

    Thank you

You cannot import with all his changes intact - a project into another project. However, you can import a project finished in another project.

Go to share/computer staff/AVI. The AVI you export in the current project can be imported into any other project as a sequence of rendering.

  • Is it possible to import an existing in the Muse Web site or should you create everything new?

I have a few sites that I created in DW, with style sheets, etc and I would convert them into a site of Muse. Is this possible? Or do I have to create each Muse site from scratch?

    Hello

Muse does not support the HTML/CSS/Javascript for the moment. You can open .muse extension in muse, but you can export you Muse site in html format.

Please let me know if you have any other question.

  • Is it possible for copies low-resolution export/print/extract of photos into the Lightroom Catalog offline?

I store my lightroom catalog on my laptop, but all my original files on an external HD that I do not usually carry with me. I find myself wanting photos small (1200 to 1600 pixels long) by e-mail, download, etc. at this point, I am ready to export my entire library to 1200 pixels photos and store those on my laptop hard drive so I can actually use my photos without external. Is there an easy way to use a Lightroom previews to get smaller versions of the photos?

A quick glance, it looks like that you just turn on the use of 'intelligent previews. This will allow you to edit and export when the external hard drive is disconnected.

  • I have 10 items, 5 Lightroom and PS6.  My mac is to say his "run or almost.  I suspect that the problem is the organizer of the elements, 875 MB, and I don't think I can import it into my LR catalog that is located on an external drive.  Any suggestion

So useful, here's some additional info:

I am running OSX version 10.9.4, with 8 GB of memory.

I see. But what 'catalogue' I was in when I do the next step of the "use a file > open recent"?

External photography reader, if I open the run called cat LR5 is its 675 MB, the file C Drive LR5 is 1.23 GB, but I suspect it's applications and a catalog.

  • Import database 11g into the 9i database

Hello, I have a client who needs to be able to take a UTF8 11.2.0.1 base and put it back in a 9.2.0.1 WE8MSWIN1252 database. Is it possible to do so.

    Hello
I would like to note the following:
    1 - 9i is no longer supported.
    2. I think that you cannot move data to another character set. Only you can do this if the set of characters that you move data to are a great of the character of the defined source.

  • Imports RAW - possible to use cameras settings?

This may be a stupid question, but is it possible to import FIRST files in LR and batch process them using predefined parameters that reflect the camera how he is to say how the camera would create the jpeg format, but obviously without converting them to JPEG?  Can I specify that they must be treated like my Canon EOS70D?

    Thank you

It's one of the problems when you are working with raw images. Each manufacturer of the device stores the parameters of the camera differently in their owners raw file format. Lightroom and Camera Raw (used by Photoshop and Photoshop Elements) are designed to only reads DO NOT these settings because of how differently, they are stored.

There are a few alternatives that will help mitigate this. First of all, you can set one of your images so that it matches the JPEG and then you can create a preset that can either be applied individually or applied to all raw, when imported into Lightroom. This could be a preset or several presets. But only a preset can be applied to the import. The other option would be to adapt one of your raw images so that it matches the JPEG and then save the new camera default values. These default values then apply whenever you import new images or reset the images that have already been imported.

Since you use a Canon camera, in the section of calibration in the develop module, you'll find profiles of different cameras available that are designed to match the different camera settings that you can choose in the camera. These profiles can help get the picture more closely what looks like JPEG.

  • Is it possible to import the same JavaScript document into several PDF documents at the same time

I have a recurring project where I disable advance click into individual PDF by using a JavaScript document. Is it possible to import this script into several PDF files at once rather than having to manage it at the same time?

You can create an Action that adds the script. Curiously, the Action would be a JavaScript that uses the doc.addScript () method.
