  I have a report to the discoverer who shoots in 2 data points, the first is of $ gross turnover and the second is of $ turnover. For each data point, we have 2 different columns, one for direct sales and a column for the indirect sales. The report ends by displaying 4 columns of data.
  
  Gross direct sales | Indirect gross sales | Net direct sales | Indirect net sales
  
  I want to filter the report to show only 2 columns of data Indirect gross sales & Direct sales.
  
  What is the best way to apply some type of filter to the data points? I tried to create a named calculation, but I was not able to produce the desired results.

  Looks like you want to have 2 columns of 4 columns based on the data.

  If so, what you were doing was OK IMO you want to create 2 calculations with each calculation using the CASE statement.

  However, make sure that in the condition that you always keep it bring back the original 4 data columns.

  On the first assumption, you might want to use the concept of this all about the entire CASE statement.

  So, something like:

  1 calc_direct

  SUM (CASE source WHEN = "Direct" THEN END Net sales REST 0)

  2 calc_indirect

  SUM (CASE source WHEN 'InDirect' = THEN any OTHER gross sales 0 END)

  Make sense?

  A really weird problem started today.  I am able to open and work with the files have.  However, when I save the work, the original file exists, no not update work.  I closed and open the AI and restarted the computer.  But I'm still in the dark.   I remember my having seen this (or similar) issue before, but I can't seem to remember the cause/solution.

  Sometimes, (some) things can stop working for no apparent reason. When (other) possible reasons/remedies do not work, it can be a kind corruption (temporary or permanent) that can be cured with something on the following list.   External media: it is generally recommended here for open/save from/to clean hard disk and to copy to and from networks and removable media. You maybe lucky (for a while), but the chances of corruption of files and other unpleasantnesses are immensely greater when you use something else than the hard drive, and it is better safe than sorry.

  To have a network really work requires little work.

  Make sure that you do not mix Mac and Windows on a network: you must use a Mac with Mac machines and a Windows Server with Windows machines.

  If you go through external means, it is always safer to zip/compress the file to avoid corruption.

  It is relatively easy to have a pointer that can move around the screen.  What's more complicated is to find where this point is in relation to the fields that you have on the screen, and so the fields that have the focus.  So of course what do you with this pointer while people type?  or if there was a pointer, users will need to click to select the input field?  Then once you have selected an input field, made the moving average of scrolling trackball with - in the area or that the bar has to be moved.  Everything becomes complicated.

  Unless someone is willing to throw a lot of money to you to implement this, I would say that the answer is no.

  Yours is a laptop? If so, you're probably brushing the touchpad with your Palm or fingers. The easiest way around this problem is with an external mouse with touchpad disabled. To disable the touchpad go to control panel, Manager of devices and look under the mouse or HID for her. Then, right-click on it and select Disable (not uninstall - it will reinstall itself only if you do).

  You can also connect an external mouse and select the option for Notification of Touchpad to disable the touchpad when an external mouse is present. This setting can be found in the mouse properties dialog.

  It is possible to use JavaScript in case on the blur of a field to force the focus on a particular area. Thus, an approach you can take is to set the tab order so that excluded the field you want is at the end and in the last field you want in the tab order do something like:
