Is it possible to run a program as administrator when not on the administrator account?

In my school, the servers had locked and the only account is a Standard account. Is it possible to run the program as administrator. When you right click, run as admin option doesn't show up. Is there a way to do this?

If you hold down the SHIFT key as you do a right click, see if run it as an option in the contextual menu Manager has been added. Then opens the dialog to enter the administration username and password.

  • Is it not possible for me to duplicate my administrator account?

My little brother uses my account, so I would really like that, if I could reproduce them so he could have his own. Is it possible if the account is the administrator?

    Hi EColl,

It is a complicated question, but in general, it can be done.

First of all, it is possible to create a new user account and move information from one account to the other.  You will use essentially the same procedure if the account has been corrupted (except you copy instead of move and would not remove the original account). Here is the procedure in Vista: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-vista/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile.  If you have a different operating system, or perform a search on Bing for 'fix a user profile corrupted in ' or post back and I'll try to find it for you.

If you want him to have administrator rights, you are finished.  If this is not the case, use your username to change his account to a standard account and then you are done (but if he is accustomed to using an administrator account, he can find a standard account quite a bit more restrictive - but it's up to you).

But consider that, while both accounts have the same starting point for documents, images, programs, audio, desktop, settings, e-mail programs and configurations and accounts and other, as soon as you start to use them separately, they will become different.  He will not have access to your user accounts and any additions, changes or deletions you make will not intervene in his account (because is not the same account).  Well, if you two administrators, technically, you can access the data in each and other accounts and copy it to your own - but who then begins to defeat the purpose of having separate accounts.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • I have a 64-bit system running Windows 7. I could not get the AutoPlay to open whenever I insert a CD or a DVD.

I have a 64-bit system running Windows 7. I could not get the AutoPlay to open every time I insert a cd or a dvd, I changed the settings to Ask Me to Windows Media Player to open with Windows Explorer... but nothing I tried introduced the feature of AutoPlay to life.

    Is there a solution

    original title: AutoPlay Windows 7

It worked for me: I forgot where I got it, could have been here if it's a little different from what I've seen above

    PIECE AUTO REPAIR
    USING GROUP POLICY EDIT
    gpedit.msc in search
Computer Configuration\ Administrative Templates\ Windows Windows\ Policies\ will disable Autoplay.

In the REGEDIT HELP: Group Policy Editor is not provided with Windows Home editions, however, you can use regedit to achieve the same result.

Open regedit and locate the following key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

    Change: NoDriveTypeAutorun to 0 x 91

If necessary, create this key as a DWORD.

    When you view this file.

If you check through the Task Manager > processes (tab) some will note * 32 because they are native 32-bit applications running on a 64-bit operating system.

  • Is it possible to send a document through EchoSign, but not allow the recipient to sign in fact that a certain number of days later?

Is it possible to send a document through EchoSign, but not allow the recipient to sign in fact that a certain number of days later? I often send contracts which have a period of seven days - if the recipient is not allowed to sign until seven days have elapsed since the date I send the contract. I was wondering if there is a way to fight against this automatically or if I should tell them that they cannot sign up to a certain date and count on them to follow my instructions.

    Hi Jamie,

From now on, once the document is sent to the signatories that they can esign it at any time and it is not possible to delay or set the least number of days before they can not esign.

Although EchoSign does not have this feature currently, but we can send your request to our team of developers to integrate the requested feature becomes available in the future.

You can also put your ideas on our page of ideas (http://ideas.echosign.com/forums/21617-echosign-general ) where your feature request will go directly to our development team.

  • Cannot run some programs after system restore to remove the virus

    Hello

Toshiba my duaghter had a nasty virus that pretends to be an antivirus software product, which sneaked in, between the time his default service Norton has expired and I had the time to install Trend.

Can not remove it using trend, so on the advice of a friend, decided to make a windows system restore to a point before the infection. It worked successfully and the virus has disappeared, but now she can't run some programs, I tried to reinstall Trend, but fails because he says you must first uninstall Norton. But I can't run Norton, or uninstall, and certain folders on C: are no longer accessible.

I have to do a full restore of the Toshiba System (IE back tofactory settings? This seems a drastic measure, but the issue is beyond my meager knowledge of PC.

    Thank you

    Graeme

    Hey Buddy,

Hmm... This announcement is a bit confusing... Maybe the programs you want to say were installed after the system restore point, who knows?

In my opinion you must reset the laptop configuration that you have already written. This will restore the pre-installed Windows version where everything is working correctly and that all the drivers and tools are installed.

Therefore, you only need the Toshiba Recovery disk and boot from it. This will restore the factory settings.

    Hi JH1970,

With UAC, there is no need to raise/permission control to a Director more.  Therefore, I think that's why options will be extinguished with UAC as well.  Try it and let us know if it work.

  • Is there a free program for xp that not only the details of individual deals, but also to let you know the bad guys?

I'm trying to understand the running processes "should" be running and which are not necessary or even harmful. Is there a free program to help with this or article which is a good way to help others understand? Thank you

    Crysta

You can use Process explore (a program sanctioned by Microsoft) to see what is really running on your system - especially what's really running behind all of these svchost.exe processes, you might see in the Task Manager.

    Download it here:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/Sysinternals/bb896653.aspx

PE is free and does not install any startup items or processes to slow you down - it works on request.

PE can be a little intimidating at first since it has so much information, but you will learn to love if you are troubleshooting afflicted systems (especially for performance issues).

If you read the following article, you will be smarter than the average bear on what is happening with all those svchost.exe process see you in the Task Manager and understand why it is normal to see several svchost.exe running processes in the Task Manager.

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial129.html

If you are curious about a running process, you can right-click and choose to search online and it will launch your Internet browser and using all search engine you have configured (Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc) and you give some results.

There is usually a lot of things running on your system that you do not need to run, but you have to be careful what you disable or delete and have a plan for what you will do if you make a setting and your system becomes unstable or even no longer starts

If you're curious to know a particular process and tell us what they are, someone can probably help you to determine whether to run or not.

For malicious stuff, the best thing to do is use scanners of well-known companies where the prevention, detection and removal of malware is their business, their strong and that is what they are doing throughout the day.  For example:

No matter what you use for malware protection, follow these steps:

Download, install, update and do a quick scan (not at the same time) with these free malware detection programs:
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

SAS will probably be just a bunch of Internet tracking cookies, but you can remove them.

Run these once in a while to complete your course without precision antivirus/antimalware applications or when you are suspicious of an infection.

They can be uninstalled later if you wish.

In 1985, there were 11 known computer viruses.  Today, there is more to 1, 568, 311 and the new threats are detected every day.  Always update your virus definitions before running a scan.

  • I am trying to install another gig of ram on my laptop of HP running under win7 32, but when I install the stick, windows crashes at startup.

First thanks for taking the time to look at my problem. I just bought this machine used and he installed a 7 on good own licensed copy and it works just ok. Could not load too many programs or it is quite slow. More ram can only help so I picked up the ram Kingston correct and all stop, stuck the new concert date in the only opening slot, and windows crashes about 15 seconds. Hard, close and remove the ram and back in buisiness. The old for new works, fine. Any combination that adds more of the original concert hangs the system.

The machine is a HP Pavilion zd7000. HP says it has a max of ram 2048 and a Crucial site scan shows the 1 slot available without support dual channel. It is an Intel Pentium 4 @ 3 .00GHz, speed 2992 without support of the ECC.

So I did a lot of reading on this and went into the bios at startup and the bios indicates the additional concert when it is loaded, but it crashes. I have run the checker with the two sticks installed memory and it shows no problem. I went in first Grade and manually configured virtual memory to 1024-2048. I looked at the box that limits the max memory to 1028 and he did not check for me clear, but I can not change the number to 2048.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Mike

    Hey superman,.

The common feature seems to be the network card.

You can try to disable it, or update the driver for this to see if the problem resolves.

  • ERROR: Apple iPhone upgrade program-Apple store do not activate the phone or sell me IUP

So I went on the launch day after waiting inline for more than 90 minutes for a booking of IUP.

I booked an iPhone ATT 7 because there is no available T Mobile phone because I really wanted to participate in the program of upgrade.

This forum said I could just swap the ATT with TMO, when I arrived at the store - BAD!

The representative of the store Apple says if I booked a phone ATT should I start or use an existing att.

He could just let me no Exchange TMO SIM I had...

Bank of IUP and the citizen requires the carrier be activated in order to get their hands on the IUP program, he said.

Suppose that there is little money 'trunk' back-end that Apple and the Bank are paid by the carrier?

I ended up buying the phone outright without AppleCare and came out with a pay phone.  Sold the next day to a friend who wanted a 7 +.

So now I'm waiting for Apple to repopulate the TMO phones...

So beware that you can't just swap SIM cards as previously reported by other members of the forum!

I thought that the FAQ made quite clearly. - http://www.apple.com/shop/iphone/iphone-upgrade-program. If you wish to register by using the payment plan (my emphasis added):

When I buy with the iPhone Upgrade Program, is my iPhone 'unlocked '?

Yes. You can select a new mobile provider or stick to one you have. , We activate your iPhone on your choice of AT & T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon. Once your iPhone is activated, it remains unlocked.

If you pay in full in and out of the phone (and not enroll in the program to upgrade at all), so no activation is required as part of this process, and you can then throw the SIM included and exposed to one of your choice.

Since it was announced, the program of upgrading the range always said that you can not leave the store without activation of the service with a participating carrier. However, you are not under any contract and can cancel this service, as you wish. Your device is not locked to the holder of the SIM card, it came with.
