  You hear your message said something about rpcrt4.dll?  It is important to relay the exact message you see.

  Please provide additional information on your system:

  What is your system brand and model?

  What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

  Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, MSE, Comodo, etc..

  The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

  The afflicted system has a CD/DVD drive work?

  You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

  You use some CD to access this Panel of Microsoft recovery where this "no profile" option is?  I don't know what all this means if it isn't some CD shipped with your system, in which case, I would use it for a coaster instead of something to fix your system.

  If the c:\windows\system32\rpcrt4.dll file is missing or afflicted, you do not start in the last good known Configuration.

  I can't recreate your error exactly, but it is easy to replace the rpcrt4.dll file.  Looks like you have a working CD drive, so put yourself a Hiren boot CD and when you started on this, you can copy your precious files to a USB device for safety.

  There should be a backup copy of rpcrt4.dll already on your system, here or here:

  c:\Windows\System32\dllcache

  c:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386

  You need to rename or replace the rpcrt4.dll file which is in c:\windows\system32 and replace it with one you will find the backup copies.

I use your Windows 7 Desktop with extended desktop.  I have 8 GB DRAM, Intel i5 processor, Intel HD graphics chip and a 1 TB hard drive with a 500 GB data partition.  I have Norton Internet Security, but I've disabled entirely whenever I tried to use Pre.  I tried to disable the extended desktop, but that has not changed anything.  I tried to turn off the sound, just in case the Realtek HD Audio was the problem, no luck.  I have all the unessesary process stopped.  I tried to delete the data partition, but it did not a bit of difference.  I know that everyone recommends two hard drives, but that is not possible for me right now.  I am really pulling my hair out on this thing.  I resorted to burn the project to a DVD + RW and just look at that to see how the project is progressing.  She becomes a bit old after a while having to burn a disc whenever I want to see if I change the timeline correctly.  Any suggestions as to a solution would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

  Do not install an operating system is usually caused by (in order of probability):
