Is it safe to keep the PC is plugged in after removing the battery?

As I will not pass my pc for a while, I removed the battery and use the AC power instead.

But I would like to know if its safe to keep it plugged into the AC 24/7? and if she consumes energy or it damage anything when the pc is turned off?

its okay, I use to do all the time with the other thinkpads when my battery died on me. It will not damage your laptop.

I was constantly using a laptop Pavilion DV6-1230 we 5 years almost always with the power adapter is plugged in. I replaced the battery once. I was told yesterday that this isn't a good idea, because it can lead to a shorter battery hardware and life issues. We buy a new computer and want to know what is the recommended method for the use of current alternative with a laptop. Is always connected OK? Or we stop the computer at the end of the day? The power plug must be removed from the plug?  Appreciate the suggestions and recommendations on best practices in this case.

    Hello:

It is not a good idea to leave the power cable connected with the battery in the PC.

You should disconnect the power supply at least once a month even if you move the laptop, run Notepad as needed and let the battery drain down until you get the low battery warning.

    Then load it up.

  • Portege Z930: How to keep the battery alive as long as possible?

    Hello

Got a Portege Z930 recently, I do not know how to manage the recharge of the battery in order to maintain 'live' as long as possible.

I'm mainly using computer at home, to leave the battery and then recharge, but I'm not sure it's a good idea. I had an A-200 before satellite, also use it at home and keep connected all the time; After a few years, the battery capacity decreases

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    > after a few years, the battery capacity decreases

It's nothing unusual after a few years of any battery would start to lose performance.
Generally speaking after 500 times charge cycles the battery begins to lose clean performance.

Of course you can remove the battery and could use the laptop only connected to the power adapter, but in this case, the laptop would shut down when making connection interrupted.

To extend the battery work, you will need to calibrate the battery from time to time.
To calibrate the battery, you must discharge the battery until it is completely empty. Then connect the power adapter and charge the battery up to full charge. Repeat this procedure two or three times in the line.

    Greetings.

  • What is the best keep the battery in the best performance?

Is how better consider keeping batteries for laptops in the best performance: 1-supported always. 2 - Use batteries for laptops without plug in power when the battery is charging.

    Hello

It makes no difference which way you use because if you keep the AC/DC adapter is plugged in and the battery is fully charged, the battery will not be used. It will only be used if you unplug the AC adapter.

In addition, a battery can be recharged up to 500 times so I always work with connected AC/DC adapter. But I would say to completely load and unload the battery from time to time. ;)

  • Z50-70: it is safe to run the AC adapter / CC with no battery?

As the thread title says, is this safe that run the laptop of the electric network powered AC adapter without the battery installed?

I rarely need to run on battery alone, and keep the battery at 100% load is not good for her, so I prefer to take the battery but I am afraid that it may have a role in the stabilization of the power supply. I note that the output voltage of the adapter is 20V, i.e. > 5V above the battery voltage.

  • How to keep the Palm TX

    No device

I've been a user of long date Palm TX and want to continue to use it until I absolutely have to go to something else.  That's why I bought an another Palm TX (used of course but works perfectly) and plan to keep it until the one I have is unusable for some reason any.

I would like some advice on how to take care of those "storage".  How many times should I load up and run it through a few "exercises (?)?   Or should I?  All other words of wisdom?

    Doug

I keep my extra TX charged for the most part, on my desk where I will see it and plug occasionally to top it off.

I don't claim to be a battery expertise, but FWIW there is a thread on this topic on the discussion forums at www.brighthand.com.  I think I remember seeing something that gave a technical reason to keep the battery at about 40% charge.  As with most of the information from the Internet, take it for what you paid for it.

I jump your service Txes incl. you well for many years.

  • Can we keep the laptop plugged even after the battery is fully charged?

When my battery is fully charged, is it acceptable to continue using the charging or is it better to unplug? My friends have different opinions on this topic and one of them said to me that if I continue to load while it is fully charged, it quality will be reduced or something. Is this really possible?

    Hello

The best information comes from the machine system.

Batteries and loads in portable computers today are designed to stay in the computer
available to use and reload. The system more now have an automatic release of configuration which
will drain the battery a bit then are. That helps keep the battery refreshed
If the battery has more power and lasts longer.

  • OMEN of HP for computer laptop 15-ax006no: best way to use the battery

    Hello!

I bought a HP OMEN for computer laptop 15-ax006no (http://store.hp.com/SwedenStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=X9Z44EA & opt = UUW & salt = NTB) earlier this week and I wonder how is best to use and to keep the battery?

-Should I disconnect the battery when I have access to outlet?

    - Or should I fully charge and then use remove the charger and only work on battery?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

Batteries and Chargers for modern laptops are now smarter than we thought. They stop to load when 100% full

    1. Should I disconnect the battery when I have access to outlet? You, the risk is down, you have no backup power supply and it can kill your machine, speciall if she had a normal HARD drive.
    2. Or should I fully charge and then use remove the charger and only work on battery? This isn't a good idea because the battery will run out and you will need to recharge which means increase in cycles and the charge battery will die earlier.

My option: maintain the battery even when plugin

    Kind regards.

  • Satellite C650D-006 - how to maximize the battery life?

I have just bought a laptop C650D/006 and I was wondering what is the best way to maximize the battery life. In other words, if I use it with the power cable plugged AC will be keeping the battery installed the result of all the time a decrease in the battery or it does not make a difference?

    Thank you

    Hey Buddy,

You can maximize the life of the dough if you always remove the battery if you n t necessary e.g. in the House where you can work with AC/DC adapter.
In addition, the battery must always be fully charged and be invoiced if it s empty.

  • L50 - B satellite will not start when the battery is completely discharged

    Hello

My Toshiba L50 - B won't start when the battery is fully drained but connected to the power outlet.
I try to work most of the time on the battery to keep the battery in good shape, but when I forgot to turn off the battery drains and the system will not start when I plug in the adapter.

The battery charge indicator is orange light as it should. Only when the battery is fully charged to 100%, it will run at startup and function normally after that. I tried to turn on the laptop several times during the charge cycle, but only when the charge indicator changes from yellow to white it starts. Tested for 2 bodies.

My old Toshiba always immediately turned on when I plugged the adapter even when the battery has been completely drained. Am I missing a setting somewhere?

Thanks for responding... I hope well :-)

    Toshiba L50 - B
    Windows 8.1
Any standard/original setting since I only acquired this laptop a month ago.

The laptop should light up if the power adapter is plugged in and power the laptop corectly any if the battery is empty or during charge.

Please check the version of the BIOS that is available on your mobile phone and compare with the BIOS available on the page of the Toshiba UE driver
Maybe you need to update the BIOS, but to be honest, the history seems really odd to me and I m afraid that there could be some power supply electronic problem

So in the worst case, the laptop must be checked by authorized service provider.

  • Re: This option is available to charge the battery?

It is rather a general question, although I use now L500-226 laptop running Windows 7 Home Basic.

One of the main reasons, I continued using PC instead of the battery of computers (as laptops) is their need (laptops) periodically remove the charger and then reinsert it when the battery is low. Otherwise, keeping the charger is still plugged, the battery would suffer in two ways:

1 - where the loading stops, the battery will not be able to restore full capacity for the first time. Of course, if the charge process to full discharge then to a low level is repeated once again, internal chemical reactions of the battery could be reactivated gradually to a good extent.

    2. in the long term, keep the battery in full charge State also decreases its MTBF (Mean-Time-Before failure).

As we all know, the process of charging the battery to full then shock it in an optimal level of low could be repeated automatically by the software.
Obviously this option must be set by the user first. In this case, there is no need to unplug the charger.
And only when the user has to take the laptop where the voltage of the network are not available on request, this option would be disabled to avoid discharging the battery automatically.

Does anyone think that this option is already available in some new Toshiba laptops and maybe L500 models?

To be honest, I was told that the large companies in the world that produce batteries games can get significant extra revenue of the replacement of the battery packs in shorter periods. But in my opinion, the majority of PC users replace their PCs with laptops that are implementing the battery above, option since they will not have to pay each year (at best) to replace their relatively high price (specific for the manufactured product!) battery pack.

    Any idea?

    Thank you.

This option is not available. All works automatically, and as the Akuma wrote, you should disconnect manually.

  • Satellite C660 - 25 c - how to calibrate the battery

    Hello

First of all, I apologize for my bad English.

I would like to know the procedure to calibrate the battery of my Satellite c660 - 25 c.

    Thank you

    Sincerely, romat1993

    It's pretty easy.

To calibrate the battery, it of necessary to charge the battery until the battery indicator indicates that the battery is fully charged.
Then, unplug the AC adapter and keep the battery discharge until it s completely empty.
Then connect the power adapter and charge the battery again.

This procedure should be repeated two, three times in the line.

  • Satellite U series: Question about bypassing the battery when connected on AC

Hi, I am a bit newbie to PC Toshiba laptop (series U) and I was wondering if my laptop has this feature where it bypasses the battery when it is fully charged and the power supply cable is connected?
I see the battery blue led is on even when it is fully charged and the power is connected, it means that my computer is still using the battery?

    Hello

Congratulations on your new machine, I understand that worried you´re for your battery life. I was scared too, but a lot of people here in the forum told me that, in each new machine for many years (i.e. about 6 to 9 years) almost every laptop has an electronic charge that regulates the process of charge of the battery.

Don t worry, if your battery is fully charged, the built-in charging circuit is a special State that is as "cool cool" to maintain your battery and to protect the battery.
S better to keep the battery in the machine then removing it.

    Welcome them

  • Can I use the laptop without the battery?

    Hello

The other day, I bought my first laptop. A 17 '' HP Pavilion running Windows 7. My question is can I remove the battery and just run through the power cable? I heard that you can with some laptops, but not with others.

I have take the laptop with me places that I will use it as a PC of office most of the time. I guess that charge and discharge the battery in time, will be so if I need to use it on the road I might as well give the battery a rest.

Many people now use a laptop in the same way as a desktop computer, at work or at home. As the laptop is plugged in and rarely/never moved or disconnected or completely stop, simply allowing it to enter the mode "shall". Such use does not seem to contribute to battery decline we see here a lot of messages. HP & other manufacturers do not recommend removing the battery in such a case. Since I unplug/move mine sometimes I keep the battery in and don't forget to unplug and leave it to unload and reload periodically. This has worked well for me.

  • The battery life on Portege M300

    Hello

Wonder how long your batterys is last on your Portege M300? Mine lasts about 4-4, 5 h using a 'normal '.

What is the difference in the life of the battery between Salvation and the standard battery battery capacity?

    Hello

Simple answer: Hi The capacity batteries run longer. But you should only use original Toshiba batteries which are developed and designed for this device. Other batteries may damage the unit!

There are several steps to follow to ensure that you get maximum performance of the battery:
Batteries come in a discharged condition and must be charged before use. It is recommended that you charge and discharge the battery again two to four times to allow it to reach its maximum rated capacity.
Keep the battery healthy by fully charge and then fully it unloads at least once every two to three weeks. Exceptions to the rule are Li-ion batteries which do not suffer from the memory effect.
To get the maximum performance of the battery, optimize mobile power management features before using
