is it safe to update from windows 7 to windows 8 without having to worry about losing files and data of the current computer?
will I lose my files and stored data when I update from windows 7 to windows 8?
will I lose my files and stored data when I update from windows 7 to windows 8?
There is no particular risk to lose anything, if you do an upgrade, rather than a new installation, and if you do it right.
* However *, whenever make you a leap like an upgrade from one version of Windows to another, there is always a risk. Things * can * fool you. So before I do, you should be sure you have a current backup on external support of all important files for you.
And another point. Even if you do not upgrade, it is * always * a risk of losing. So you should be sure you have a current backup on external support of all important files for you * all * time, not just in the moment it takes important steps.

Updates to Windows 7 without having to download Windows 10.
I have Windows 7 Professional on a Lenovo Thinkpad carbon X 1 Gen 3. When I bought the laptop, a free update for Windows 10 was available. I chose to use Windows 7. Now when I try to download the Windows 7 updates, updates start with 10 Windows even if I remove the check mark from the option of downloading Windows 10. I tried cancel 10 Windows and tried to remove the icon for Windows 10 from the bottom screen bar. No matter what I try, any attempt to update begins with Windows 10! How to prevent Windows download?
Hi Archie,
Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community and showing interest on Windows 10.
As you're referring to cancel 10 Windows can you can't upgrade to Windows 10 by ISO. Try it below and check if it helps.
I suggest you uninstall cancel the booking for upgrade to Windows 10 and check if it helps.
How can I cancel my booking? I don't want to upgrade to Windows 10 in all.
1. open the reservation application in the notification area (double click it)
2. click on the menu and Hamburger in the upper left corner, select view Confirmation.
3. in the lower left corner, click on cancel and then confirm (twice).
Uninstall the reserve completely from my computer?
- Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button . In the search box, type Update, and then in the list of results, click Windows Update.
In the left pane, click view update history.
Check the list for the update KB3035583 and KB2976978 .
Right-click each update, and then click Uninstall.
It will be useful. Please let us know if you need help with Windows. We will be happy to help you.

Have currently CC 2014 company loaded on University PCs. users are requesting the update to 2015 CC. We have currently remove components CC 2014 before the PC can be updated until 2015 for CC. There must be an easier way.
Packages that are installed in the subdirectory 'Build' must be uninstalled using the same package, namely by running the msiexec command with the / uninstall switch, for example
start/wait msiexec / uninstall/SB NomPackage.msi
To uninstall a package CCP on OS X from the command line or a script, use the uninstaller PKG file, for example:
sudo Installer - pkg Muse_Uninstall.pkg - target /.

Updates from Windows to restart loop ;-(
My HP Pavilion Desktop under Vista Home Premium (German language and SP1) with intel processor through the normal automatic updates at around 03:00 local time without any apparent problem.
However, the virtually identical machine next to him is now taken in a loop in which the third three updates appears on the screen of "Curtain" at 0% complete as well as the instruction is not to shut down the pc. After a few moments the pc shuts down and restarts... until even with the curtain screen and repeat ad nauseum!
Have tried all the options found on this and other sites (for example, creating their own different security modes, deleting the file pending.xml etc.) without success.Someone at - it any other suggestions?
Hello
I guess that part of the question could be a driver which is really old or similar should not be loaded.
This exit Windows updates on (after you have access) and stop the updates of the driver to load.

Update from Windows 8 to 8.1 of the store
Good, so I have my new DELL laptop and it is using Windows 8. The shop offers the update, but when I press on to download it says that I need you login using administrator rights. Then I go and log on as administrator, but then he says that I can not use the shop as an administrator. I am lost and have no idea how to update to Windows 8. 1. I thought that maybe if I ran the shop with the admin rights... However, there is no choice or that is. Help, please!
I create a new local account to admin-level only and see if it works from there.
To do this, create a new account. When he asks you an email address, click on "sign-in without a microsoft account" at the bottom, choose "local", then administrator level.
