  • HP Photosmart C7280 all in one installation with windows 8.1 problems

    Hello

I have a HP Photosmart C7280 all in one printer which worked very well on wifi with Windows 8. A few days ago I got the prompt to upgrade to 8.1. Subsequently the printer would not work and I got prompt/warning message to re - install the printer software. And I went to the control panel and deleted all the old HP software, tried to re - install the last being on the HP site... nothing will do.

I tried to do a number of ways - manual download, download the HP software that determines what software is required, then it downloads for you...

It seems to start unpacking all right, but then gets stuck on "Checking system" and never progresses to something else. Help!

    Hello Cam77,

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support. I see that you're having trouble installing your Photosmart C7280 printer after upgrading your computer to Windows 8.1.

I have included the Windows 8: the progress bar on the Software Installation stops or stalls document. It will guide you in the steps to get the installed printer.

Please let me know if you are having difficulties while doing the above. If you do, please let me know at what stage things are ugly and said error messages. Please also indicate how you have the connected printer (USB cable, ethernet or wireless). Thank you.

  • Game - the Lord of the RINGS battle for Middle-Earth is not compatible with Windows 7

I have a desktop with Windows Vista and a laptop with Windows7. My grandson wants to play the Lord of the RINGS battle for the Middle Earth, released in 2004, that works with Windows XP. What should I do? Can I still buy Windows XP and, if so, can also be installed on one of my computers? I don't know much about computers, especially if there are two operating systems on a single computer.

I suggest you look at this:

Make older programs in this version of Windows

    * and * I want to add that, since he is a game - compatibility mode peut/may not work.  The game itself may have some requirements will not require this compatibility mode (I think versions of DirectX, etc.).

Like XP until now under the name of purchase - it is difficult to locate a legitimate copy - but they are there.  Although - dual-boot to play a single game, especially if "don't know much about computers", could end up being less expensive (in time and possibly costs if things went wrong) purchases some used/refurbiushed computer/laptop that comes with Windows XP as operating system. (If it's something you really want to continue - I've seen portable that would probably run this game with Windows XP included and 3 months warranty 1 year for $249 + shipping/TX and more lately - from TigerDirect (sort price low to high, get at least 1 GB of memory, 40 and up to drive hard, etc.))  I just think that the penalty do not worth the personal cost of time/money * if * the thing to address compatibility mode above does not work.)

  • Problems with the touch screen of HP all-in-One after upgrading Windows

I recently updated my version of Windows (64-bit) with system updates and then a full version updated to version 8.0 version 8.1.  After the update is complete, I started to experience a strange problem with the touch screen on my HP Envy Rove.  The screen would flash repeatedly one set of points in the right lower quadrant of the screen as if the simulation random screen button.  There is no way to stop this.  If the screen on a keyboard was pulled up, letters in the place of the flashes would be broadcast in the fields on the screen.

The only way to stop the flashes of screen has been to go into the Device Manager and disable the HID-Compliant device driver.  It stopped (system generated keys) flashes, but also disabled my touch screen input.  So now the system is usable, but without the benefit of the touchscreen.

Here is the information on the driver:

    HID-Compliant device

    Date: 21/06/2006

    Version: 6.2.9200.16851

    (input.inf)

I tried updating the driver, but this seems to be the latest version available.  Go back to the previous version of the driver, could solve the problem, but I could not locate on the support web site.

Any suggestions on how to solve this problem and re-enable the ability of my touch screen?

    Hello

Downloaded drivers from the manufacturer will be the most tested and up to date available. The best place to download a driver is directly from the manufacturer of the equipment.

So I suggest you to install the driver that is available on the HP website for your model.

It's hard to guess, because there is not much information to work with.  I'll give some basic steps you can take to see if it helps. Try to clear the temporary internet files, cache and other things non-essential to your system.    You can do this in the Tools menu, then internet options.  There is a good freeware called CCleanercleaning program. I use it and it found a lot of junk and ignores.  It also cleans the registry for you as well. If your hard disk is very full this could slow down as well. see if there are files you can back off the drive or remove to free up space.  It is also possible that your system is dusty and dirty, and it slows down the processor. Maybe it's time to clean the vents and see if the radiator in the PC is clogged by dust.  Heat can also slow down a PC, especially if it's left on a lot so be sure that it is also well cleaned.

    Hope these tips help you.

    Hello

Take a look at the matrix compat UCCX: If you upgrade to 7.0 (2), you can use Windows 7 as the OS for CAD platform (no SR on 7.0 (1) you would do). The problem is that the train from release 7.0 (x) has reached EoL and EoS, so even if you can download the upgrade to 7.0 (2) here, I absolutely recommend you take a look at the opportunity to upgrade your system to 9.0 (x) or same 10.0 (x).

  • NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GT: the driver is installed for this device is not compatible with Windows 7 (from Vista 32-bit)

Hi all, I am interested in my Sony Vaio AR41L (under Vista 32 bit SP2) upgrade to Windows 7, but when I run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, it tells me that, for the graphics card, NVIDIA GeForce 8400 M GT, the driver "installed for this device is not compatible with Windows 7.

Apparently, NVIDIA is not a solution and sent people to Sony, and Sony say that they have not updated the drivers for Windows 7 and that we do not know when they expect to do...

All known and solved this problem?  Any suggestions would be very helpful!

  • What to do if the computer is not compatible with windows 7

I have a computer that has lost the ability to use Windows XP by notice on my screen.  When I ran to the compatibiliy Windows 7 audit, the computer is not being upgraded to be compatible with windows 7.  What are my options?  I can't get a new computer.  How can I make my Windows XP operating system works?

To repeat one of my previous questions, what was the view of your receipt of no longer being able to use Windows XP?

And what if you can recall, happened to the computer just before you started to have this opinion?

Normally, except in the case of substantial changes to the hardware, once Windows XP has been activated - as it was to the company - she should stay enabled.

If the computer is connected to the company network, there may be questions to use as a stand-alone computer (which can be fixed).  In addition, there is a body of thought that holds that any used computer should have re-installed Windows.  A computer company, however, is much less likely to have "bad things" about it as previously used by an individual.

The reason that many new computers is coming with OS CD is that Microsoft gives the leading manufacturers (the so-called "Direct OEMS") the opportunity to provide a built-in method to restore the computer to its State 'cost-of-the-factory' rather than provide the CD of the OS.  See How to restore or reinstall Microsoft Windows on a Dell computer.

It is possible, however, that the it Department of the company that has purchased the computer completely erased from the hard drive and loaded a company custom 'image' right under Windows XP and applications that the company wanted to have on its computers.  If this is the case, you can be out of luck unless you can go back to the COMPUTER service company and ask for their help.

Finally, it is possible that you may be able to get a set of backup from Dell disks: http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dellcare/en/backupcd_form?c=us&l=en&s=gen&redirect=1
