Is there a 64-bit to Windows 7 64 bit download Windows 7 easy transfer?

I got a new computer, the same version of Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit.

I have the custom system as I want and would like to transfer all the settings for Windows and Office.

I've seen a lot of discussions on "Windows Easy Transfer", but all the references seem to focus on a different version of Windows and the downloads are also for the different versions of windows, I found.

Will there be a version for transfer settings for a Windows 7 64 bit for Windows 7 64 transfer?

If Yes, where can I find it?

I would like to just image, but I want to clean it up the installation of the new computer.

Yes!  It is integrated with Windows 7 itself.

Attach an external storage drive.  Create a folder on this subject.

In the text box that precedes the start, Easy Transfer will be listed, type Easy Transfer.  Click on it.

    Hi George P Boutwell,.

Thank you for using answers Forum.

I think that VMware has a 64-bit/function version. You will need to contact them to verify this.
64-bit to 32-bit is not supported by Windows Easy Transfer, as far as I know.

    I hope this helps.

  • "the password is incorrect" after using Windows 7 Easy Transfer

The problem is that the 'password is incorrect' after using Windows 7 Easy Transfer.

I've already studied this problem on the Internet and in online forums.  A lot of people seems to have the same question/problem/question.  Noone has a solution.  Several members of the staff of Microsoft technical support provided responses which do not solve the problem, explain what is happening, or were intended to solve the problem of evil.  For example, many responses were that political Microsoft does not provide assistance when retrieving passwords.  OK, but this isn't what is asked for.  There is a problem and it would be good if someone has recognized that there is a problem and - at least - it is being researched if there is not already a solution.  Anyway, as many have already asked, here is my point of view trying to find a solution to this problem:

Used Windows 7 Easy Transfer to move user accounts and files between an old 32 bit Vista PC to a new PC 64 bit Windows 7. The transfer was made on a network without using an easy transfer cable. There is no errors during the transfer and user accounts on PC Windows 7 seem to be transferred correctly. Once connected to a user account on the new PC, opens a window titled 'Migration of protected content'. Text indicates that the protected content is transferred and request a password to be entered in a password field. I entered the PC Vista user account password, but the password was not accepted, and this error message is printed "the password is incorrect". All the transferred accounts had exactly the same problem, even if the original Vista PC account password has been entered correctly.

Studied this problem on the Internet and a suggestion to solve the problem is that the password requested is the STEM of simple transfer is used to start the transfer. I have re-transferred from user accounts and entered to the STEM of easy transfer when windows 'Protected content Migration' asked a password. Always to receive the same error message "password is incorrect" on all user accounts.

You will need to determine what password is requested. In my view, it should be the original account on the old computer password, but perhaps the easy transfer ROD. If it is not what should it be? If it's neither of the two, which? If it's the original on the old computer account password or easy transfer ROD, why aren't these being accepted because I tried them both. Once the correct password is available, is it possible to open the window of 'Protected content Migration' to enter the password without having to use Easy Transfer to transfer the accounts?

Finally, what is the protected content that is transferred? How will I know what it is?  It doesn't seem to be something missing in the accounts of user who is easily visible by me. If the protected content is not necessary then not being is not able to access may not be a problem. Because I don't know what content is protected, I have no way to assess if not available is important.

    Pegasus,

What password? The Windows logon password? Yes

Have you tried to log on as an administrator? Yes

Or using your database password key USB key file? No, but why?  I know what are all passwords logon and they seized everything correctly.  Again, the question that must be answered - by someone who knows - what password is asked?  Why are all the suggestions "try this or try that."  Nobody seems to be able to tell which password is requested or why.  What is the protected content that is transferred.  I don't think that there is nothing like DRM content on the original system.  Why this request appears?  Anyone know?

  • Windows Vista to Windows 7 easy transfer

I tried to use the simple Windows for Windows 7 easy transfer to transfer files on my old laptop (Vista 32-bit, SP2) for my new laptop (Windows 7, 64-bit). I downloaded the WET and I get the message "Windows Easy Transfer has encountered an unrecoverable error. Please restart application. "Tried several times. However, even though I have uninstalled/reinstalled the patch, I still get the same message.

I noticed that several people have posted the same message; but, unfortunately, I've yet to see a resolution. Please notify.

    Hello

    ·        On what version of windows, you get the error message (Windows Vista or Windows 7)?

    ·        Where do you get this error message (when you try to install the easy transfer Windows or when you try to transfer data)?

    Method 1:

If you get the error message during the installation of the application on the Windows Vista-based computer, try to re - download the app and check if that helps.

  • Windows 7 Easy Transfer

My PC worked under Windows XP Pro and I decided to install Windows 7.  Before installing, I used the XP installation "back up files and settings" to save my data and setting up an external hard drive.  This has produced a record with 28 files, each about 2 GB with names like IMG000A. DAT, etc. IMG00001.  I installed Windows 7 without any problem, but when I came to transfer my files and settings, the Easy Transfer program would not accept the *. DAT files that had been kept in Windows XP.  Is there a solution or I'm stuffed?

Files and Settings Transfer wizard is different from the Windows Easy Transfer Wizard.

If you did a custom installation of Windows 7 to Windows XP, you can probably try to retrieve your data from Windows.old:

Otherwise, you will need to find a Windows XP machine, create a user account and restore this backup then create the appropriate backup:

  • Password block Windows Easy Transfer - cannot open Windows XP easy transfer file

I did a uprade from my PC from windows XP to windows 7. However, before doing so, I used windows easy transfer to copy my files to a later transfer. The problem is, in the process, that I did not use a password. Now, I can't open .mig files transfer easily created on the USB external drive. I had seen several old posts on this same issue. Some have recommended trying to copy. The problem is that I have more access to the old XP files since the machine is now windows 7.
Is there anyway to pass the fast password in transfer windows easy when trying to backup files without a valid password (especially since I have not created a).

The Windows.old folder has two objectives:
    (1) can be used to uninstall Windows 7 and return your PC to the previous version of Windows.
    (2) contains a backup of all your files of data, documents, photos, Etc. from the previous version of Windows.

Note: Change the Windows Explorer option to see the Windows.old folder:
Click on start and enter in the box "Search": "hidden" (without the quotes)
Click on the "Show the hidden files and folders" option at the top of the list.
    In the "Folder Options" window
Click the 'view' if it is not already selected.
In the list "Advanced settings" locate "hidden files and folders".
Now click 'show files and folders '.
    Then, disable the following:
"Hide empty drives in the computer folder.
"Hide the extensions of the file types that you want to know."
    "Hide protected operating system files"

Click on the "Apply" button and the OK"" button.

Thank you, I posted this question in the Microsoft Technet forum. To save time for others with this same problem, I was told "Microsoft Easy transfer is not backward compatible from windows 8 for windows 7. The solution is to transfer files manually before you change the operating systems and in my case for transfer to a window machine 8 and then manually transfer the files on the windows machine 7.

  • Windows in Windows 7 easy transfer is transferred programs and files and folders

I want to get a new motherboard and processor, but because my Win 7 license is OEM, I have to get another Win 7 disk to replace the operating system on the hard drive, I watched the Windows Easy Transfer tool, but I'm not sure if I will lose programs, if that's the case then I'll upgrade not as some programs are very valuable for me and too expensive to replace I don't want to format the drive only to find out that the programs are sunk, I'll put up with the monitor sometimes not detected at startup upward.

    See you soon.
    Wilf

To repeat, the drivers are obtained from your PC to the support site, in the case of a brand PC, or the manufacturer of the motherboard in the case of a generic desktop computer.

Using the Device Manager will update the drivers from windows update, which is not the same thing, and they may have the functionality of the drivers of real equipment manufacturers

  • -Vista Basic to Windows 7 - easy transfer old and new laptops

After facing a lot of difficulty with the Vista and bluescreen mistakes, now I changed the idea of keeping vista more. Got a new laptop from Dell with Windows 7.

Now again, the problem is, when I tried to use the transfer via the cable, the program responds to microsoft and the Service Pack update. Considering that, my vista update does not appear any new update available from the windows update menu shortcut start. I followed the instructions as stated, but again and again, I wonder the service pack update.

I visited the Microsoft Web site to download the stand-alone software for this purpose. Is it specific to any other software available for transfer easty, that it installs old laptop with Vista Home Basic?  If the service pack is available for this specific update separately, I'll download it from microsoft and install it. I have woul like to get the good link for the same thing.

Just for your info, I give below details of the old & new details of the laptop:
Old - Compac Pressario C500, Vista Home Basic,
New: Dell Inspiron 1440, Windows 7.

Grateful for your advice on this.

  • Windows Easy Transfer, 32-bit to 64-bit

I plan on using Windows Easy Transfer 7 to keep my files when I upgrade to 7. I think also the upgrade to 64-bit (I checked and my computer is capable). My question is, on the Page about the program, he said that the files can be moved from 64 bit to 32 bit, but it does not say that she can't move 32-bit to 64-bit. Can you migrate files to a 64-bit to a 32-bit OS

Yes, you can migrate the settings and personal files of 32-bit versions of Windows using Easy Transfer for Windows 7 64 bit, but not vice versa. Andre Da Costa http://adacosta.spaces.live.com http://www.activewin.com

  • Easy transfer Windows of Windows 7 to windows vista does not

    Easy file transfer question

I had to go back to Vista to W7 64-bit.  (long story) Before that, I created a file transfer with W7.  I can't make the transfer of files to Vista.  I was told it would work, but I have problems.  Any guidance would be extremely useful.  Thanks, Jagsrus

    Hello jagsrus,

To add to what said Dena, you must restore the files and settings to a 64-bit computer. Because easy transfer creates all of the backup in a file single .mig, it would not allow you to browse the file and restore the backup files.

Once you create a backup, you can restore the files on a 64-bit computer, you can go on using the backup and restore windows to create another backup that you can restore your 32-bit of Windows Vista. Read this article:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/back-up-your-files

If you have another 64-bit computer, you must restore the data and backup important files. This will help you restore them on your 32-bit computer.
