Is there a free software to convert DVDs to Windows Movie Maker software

Hello

I have a problem loading the images to a DVD in Windows Movie Maker. Can someone point me in the right direction? I'm looking free software which will convert a DVD to a file compatible Windows Movie Maker.
Thank you.

The following steps may be worth a try...

I'm guessing that this isn't a step a commercial DVD
with protection against copying? If_yes_read on...

FWIW... break the copy protection on
commercial DVDs is illegal.

Insert the DVD into your DVD drive... If AutoPlay or
Launch of Windows Media Player... just close them.

Now... to... Start / computer... a click right on the
icon for the DVD player is in and choose...
Open or explore... it allows to display the directory
the DVD.

Find the VIDEO_TS folder and open it... video
files have a. Extension VOB.
Copy them to a folder on your hard drive... it
Maybe more than VOB files and those with the
larger sizes of files are the ones you need.

If you're running Vista Home Premium or Ultimate...
You may be able to import the VOB files directly
in Movie Maker.

If not, try renaming the. VOB files. MPG or
. AVI and try to import into Movie Maker. If this
works... drag in the timeline, one at a time
and publish (save) in the .wmv format.
Then reimport the files for editing .wmv.

If still no success... you will need to convert the. VOB
format .wmv before import into movie files

    Just some thoughts...

It may be useful if you are going to... Tools / Options / Compatibility tab...
    and uncheck all filters.

Also... it might be a compatibility problem with your source files...
(videos / photos / music files)

Several formats are apparently compatible with
Movie Maker, but the most reliable choices are:

    Photos - bmp

  • M30X MultiDrive won't burn a DVD from Windows Movie Maker

    Hello

My MultiDrive M30x will not burn the DVD from Windows Movie Maker and other applications.

I also had problems with burning CDs (unbranded) of Windows XP, built in utility.

The multidrive has problems with cheaper brand discs?

    Just to note,
The laptop was to support guys three times until various issues.
    (1) the hard drive failed.
    (2) the multidrive has failed.
    (3) the motherboard replaced, due to power outages, it would not charge the battery, or recognize that the AC adapter is plugged.

Note: The hard drive, not the fan made the most noise in mine!

    Thank you

    Hello

As far as I know (i.e. pre-installed burning software Save now, drag-and - drop) disabled the option of Windows XP burning. In this case if you want to use the Movie Maker or Windows media player burning option, you need to activate this possibility.
Please, go to the properties of the drivers (right click). Please select the recording tab. CD recording option on this drive must be marked.
I use the software Nero burning and in my opinion he of one of the best burning programs. In addition, you should try different manufacturers CD/DVD because some CD and DVD is not compatible with some readers. Check the TDK CD and DVD. I never had no problem with these media.

    Best regards

  • DVD on Windows Movie Maker

I wanted to watch the DVD on my TV but I get a message that the disc is not playable.

I wanted to watch the DVD on my TV but I get a message that the disc is not playable.

No, it won't play on any dvd player when you burn videos from Winows Movie Maker on DVD. It can only be played on the computer that is used to burn the dvd.

There in Vista Home Premium and Ultimate, Windows DVD Maker included in the system.
That allows to burn videos to DVD. Then you can play the dvd in any dvd player or computer.

What version of Vista you have?

  • Why, trying to ' save/burn DVD' in Windows Movie Maker 2011, Windows stops at 40% registered?

I carefully created a film that lasts 1 hour 19 minutes and consists of clips video, pictures always and the music with Windows Live Moviemaker 2011.

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium and think I have all the updates that are loaded.

When I try to "save/burn DVD", Windows starts the recording of the film process, and when she gets the 40% recorded point, Windows will stop.  What is the problem?

Large, complex projects, such as the one you created tend to
    be problematic.

There is a real possibility that you have included one or more
source (photos, video clips, music files) files that are either
corrupted or not completely compatible with Movie Maker / DVD Maker.

Several formats are apparently compatible with Movie Maker but
    the most reliable choices are:

    Photos - bmp
Video - wmv or dv - avi
    Audio - wav, wma, wmv
