Is there a 'OK Google' add-on for Firefox or a "Firefox OK"

Since I use a smartphone I have the habit to use Google OK and find that talking about a long query in browser results in more relevant results. I thought I have it add to Firefox to make navigation easier. I can't find an add-on for this and wonder if it is compatible with Firefox. If not, is there a Firefox OK/Hello/loan that will allow me to talk instead of type in the browser.

Hi Figgerty,
If Firefox is now the only api voice added to Gecko, so all Mozilla products can use the api. However, if you type in the url bar of Firefox for android, the keyboard will be the speech google ok text option.
With respect to the office, it is still working on https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1003439

  • Cannot install add-ons for Firefox for Android

I have some add-ons installed. However, lately, when I try to install an add-on for Firefox for Android, I get an error message indicating that I have to install Firefox first.

Only, I use Firefox on my Samsung Galaxy S5 and would like to install more modules. Is there a setting that might make it appear the error message?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • Why is there not a direct download link for Firefox?

I searched the Firefox for Android paragraph of the Mozilla website and am disturbed to find that there is no way to download a .apk file directly, without going through the AppStore. Why is this? It should (theoretically) be no reason not to release a package for Firefox, it's free and open source.

I just completely forgot the link, and it is in the flat view?

The game store manages the control, selection of language and integrated update of compatibility. This ensures the best user experience.

However, versions are available on the Mozilla servers for those who prefer (or need) sideload and are willing to manage their own updates:

  • There are a lot of Add-ons for firefox. Could you add the use of memory and the size of the code snippet. To download a & search for mem usage... bad.

Looking through the massive amounts of Add-ons is a bit annoying. I always want to know how big the app is and how a memory trail I will get. I now have to download the application for size and then the search engine application to see if it is a heavy memory drag. Today, I tried a screenshot of Firefox Add-on. The first was 2.4 mb the second was 414 KB, it's a big difference. Then after searching memory, I found problems.

This info can be added to code snippets.

    Thank you

  • With Firefox 4.0, I see that the AVG safe search add-on antivirus is now disabled. Will there be a new add-on for AVG in the future?

With previous versions of Firefox, this add-on is always enabled. The 4.0 version now says it's incompatible.

I use this one that works as well: Dr. Web AV Link Checker

  • I have install an add-on for Firefox, but it does not appear in my list of Add-ons Manager, and after I restarted Firefox, it went.

I try to install 1-Click Youtube Video dDownloader, which is supposed to add a download button to Yuotube video pages. I go here:

    https://addons.Mozilla.org/en-us/Firefox/addon/1-click-YouTube-video-download/

and I click 'add to Firefox '. It gives me the window "install now". I click on 'Install now' and it is said that Firefox has to restart and it will be installed when Firefox opens again. If I click "Restart now" and restart Firefox. Then I go on Youtube, but no button. I check the page of the Add-ons Manager, and I see that it is installed in the extensions. So, if I go to the page and click 'Add to Firefox' once again and restart once again, go to Youtube, the download button IS there, and it works perfectly. But if I exit and restart Firefox, the download button is once again absent, but the extension is always installed. Why this extension works only when I restart twice, and then it disappears again?

When the button does not appear, but the extension is marked as active, try to reload the page to Youtube without using the cache by pressing command + shift + r to see if that triggers the extension to insert the button.

If it remains inconsistent, I would like to ask the developer to Add on to their Contact page: http://www.clickvideodownload.com/contact.php

  • Whitelist Google Earth Plugin for FireFox 64-bit?

Would it not possible to whitelist, this plugin for 64 - bit as has been done for silverlight?

Hi berwyn, mozilla won't because the plan published (as do other browser vendors as well) is completely remove support for the npapi and move the web content plugin. the win64 version already takes this kind of slate.

  • Why updates for Firefox 11 made my incompatible AVG Internet Security?

I received a notice of Firefox after updating to Firefox 11 that my AVG Resident Shield is incompatible. I tried the AVG update, but none is available. I think that there will be coordination with AVG, before asking to update Firefox. It's a waste of time and it is inconceivable to me.

You hear the AVG scanning engine tools/link bar? AVG is responsible for the update of their own software to make sure it works with new versions of Firefox. According to AVG, http://forums.avg.com/ww-en/avg-forums?sec=thread & act = show & id = 195993 #post_195993, they will add support for Firefox 11 with their next update. Once this update, I'm not sure. You can try posting in the forums, but hopefully, they will have an update for their software soon.

  • Cannot install add-ons in Firefox 4 "[Add on] could not be installed because Firefox failed to modify the necessary.".

I tried to install add-ons for Firefox 4, but were unsuccessful.

If I try to install inside the about: addons, the add-on will download, but then the installation bar will not change.
If I try to install from addons.mozilla.org, the add-on download but then I get a message in the info box on site (at the side of the address bar) which reads, "[module] could not be installed because Firefox failed to modify the necessary."

If I try to install any other modules after that, I get an error.

    I'm under Ubuntu 10.10 on a Toshiba Satellite U400.

On config variables xpi: enabled = true.

I'm having this problem. I am also under Ubuntu 10.10 and Firefox 4.0 (Canonical version 1.0) 32-bit.
When I try to install the Greasemonkey addon (and other addons), it downloads, but the installation progress bar remains at 0%. I can not also cancel installation. If I try, I get the error:

Error: Cannot cancel install of https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downloads/latest/748/addon-748-latest.xpi?src=addondetail of that State (5)
    Source file: resource://gre/modules/XPIProvider.jsm
    Line: 5168

When you try to install, I get this error in the error console:

    Error: this.installLocation is not defined
    Source file: resource://gre/modules/XPIProvider.jsm
    Line: 5751

I read on the troubleshooting page of Firefox that xpinstall.enabled should be set to true in the configuration: about, but there is not in my list of config, so I tried to add it, but it made no difference.

  • How can I download FP 10.1.102.64 for Firefox?

I have been unsuccessful in downloadaing the latest version of FP in Firefox.  I managed to download on Internet Explorer.

I tried the download with my firewall disabled - same result.

I have No Script add on for Firefox, but all the Adobe scripts are allowed.

I don't get the pop "Firefox prevented this site to install software" box that suggests the solution from Adobe's Web Site.  Can anyone help?  The control panel for the programs shows Adobe Flash Player Plug In 10.1.85.3 09/21/2010.  I guess this is about Firefox.  The Control Panel also shows Adobe Flash Player 10 Active X with 10.1.102.64 with a date of 11/07/2010.  I guess this is about Internet Explorer.

I have other questions for my own teaching:

Do I need to download and install separately for Firefox and IE?

Where can I find Flash Player in Firefox?  I'm not in the Plug In of the Add-ons tab in the Tools menu.  Shockwave Flash is there with Quick Time.

Is it possible to download once install in different browsers?

    Thanks for your help.

On Windows, there are two Setup programs; one for Internet Explore (ActiveX) and one for all other browsers (plugin).  If you use both types of browser, you must download and install both of them.
