Is there a reason to keep older versions of elements?

I installed items 6, 9 and 11, and also first elements 11. Given that I have 11 items and Prime Minister 11 elements is that any use for versions 6 and 9?

It is best to not slip into the trash. See these posts:

  • I have that one saved backup system, is there a reason to keep additional files prior to the last backup of system? I can remove them systematically?

I run the Windows Image backup to a hard drive external on a weekly schedule. The result shows on the hard drive as "WindowsImageBackup\(User name)-PC\Backup (date) (number)"-currently about 80 GB (binary).

I reserve about 135 GB of available space for backups of the system, so I save only the last backup of the system.

So far, I have no problem with that.

However, the disk hard, there is another folder '(USER NAME)-PC' & under which is a folder "backup of files (date) (number)" for each time that the backup system runs.

These files vary considerably in size - for example, 1 GB, 12 GB, 22 GB. They delete or replace automatically - just, they accumulate.

What I want to know is ~.

What is the purpose\importance of these additional files?

Since I only have a single saved backup, is there a reason to keep additional files prior to the last backup of system? I can remove them systematically?

    Original title: Windows Image backup

    Hello

    Thanks for the reply.

File '(Computer name)-PC "contains the files necessary for the Windows. Data files saved in libraries, on the desktop, and if the Windows folders for all people with a user account on the computer are also recorded.

[The default Windows folders include AppData, Contacts, desktop, downloads, Favorites, links, saved parties and searches.]

The size of these files increases, because the content of the folders mentioned above increases.

For more information, see the article mentioned below:

Help download and installation to Prodesigntools links can be found on the most linked pages.  They are essential; especially steps 1, 2 and 3.  If you click on a link that does not have these listed steps, open a second window by using the link to Lightroom 3 to see these "important Instructions".

  • Should I keep older versions of CS on my PC in order to have the most recent work properly?

I recently started a new job and found plesently my workstation already put in place with Creative Suite 5.5, but then saw CS 4 and CS 3 as well. When I asked why they were all there, the answer has been that upgrades build out of them. If we were to uninstall 4 and 3, would not work 5.5.

Now, this isn't my first time around the block... I have never done this in the past in a different position. In fact, I remember how it was to install the new software and then uninstall the old, often running to problems on the way to work.

My new Department IT is right? Or can I uninstall older versions in the hope that my computer runs faster or better?

    Thank you!

Upgrades do not build out of the other, so it is normal to not keep the 'old'.  Applications Adobe sells are stand-alone capable.  But it is usually best to uninstall old before installing the new as there could be some shared elements that you might remove when deleting old versions after the fact which could cause problems using the new version of.  I wouldn't say this is the norm, but it happened.

Keep the old versions or not may depend on the nature of the work that you do.  If you are lucky someone needs an old file they ask you to review, but they need saved under the old version, you'd be glad you kept old installed versions.  If you do not see this scenario involved in your work, then you probably don't need the old stuff lying around.  It is not likely to affect the performance of your machine in a way or another well - it's just eating space on a disk.  If you are not running the software, it is without impact on the resources of your treatment.

  • I just CC with Acrobat XI. Is there a reason to keep Adobe Reader XI on my system?

I just bought creative cloud, but I don't have a lot of space left on my hard drive I'm looking to free up some space. My question is, Adobe Reader does nothing that can't Adobe Acrobat or Reader only a subset of read-only features in Acrobat? This would be ideal, so I uninstall the drive and do everything, just the Acrobat XI.

    Thank you.

Unless you need drive for workflow testing purposes (for example to check if a complicated form works well from the point of view of your recipients), then there is no reason to keep installed.

  • Is there a reason to keep LR5 on my drive hard if I am now subscribe to creative cloud? Is it safe to delete?

I need to free up disk space on my MacBook Pro. Is it possible to remove the LR5 once you've been a subscriber to creative cloud?

If you are sure that you won't need Lightroom 5 more, then it is safe to remove it. There is no interdependence between different versions or even different updates to Lightroom. Each new installation of Lightroom, upgrade or update, is a complete new installation of the program.

  • Must I keep older versions of the CS software?

    HI -.

I'm emptying the junk files from my Mac Book Pro, and I noticed that I have versions of the Master Suite CS back to CS4 applications.  I can safely uninstall these older versions or are they attached somehow to CS6?

    TIA your entry.

    JL2

    Hi jl2000,.

    Welcome to the Adobe Forum,

You can safely uninstall the old version as the features of the old version are incorporated in the new version, how ever do not throw away or destroy the previous version Installer (link to download/DVD) & serial number, they may be required in the future.

    Kind regards

  • keep older versions of explained

Once I have download CS6, do I have to keep the old version on my computer or I can delete?

You can disable (help > deactivate) and then uninstall it.

you do not have a version update installed in order to install the upgrade.  you just need the serial numbers for both if the previous is not installed.

  • An installation older version Photoshop Elements 4.0 Windows 7, IE 4.0 is required, what happens if you have IE 11.0

I have an old Version of Photoshop Elements 4.0 on CD and used long on Win XP, now I use Win 7.1 and need a new facility.

Worked until I was asked after Internet Explorer 4.0 was necessary, and I have IE 11.0 - that is higher - and installation stopped and goes no further.

How can I install it? IE 6 or 7 will not work with Win7.

Any ideas? Will not buy an another PSE, for my business, it's good.

    Thank you!

It was also reported that if you uninstall IE11 and install IE9, it will work. Eventually, he reads IE10 and superior as IE1. After installation, you can remove IE9 and give IE11.

    See you soon,.
