Is there a setting to activate the button upwards in the Explorer of Windows 7?

I ran the updates recently, but I don't know if Microsoft has never added Up button on explore because I can't find a setting to allow it. Is there a place for him? I find it irritating to have to click on a parent folder, which may not even be visible or readable.

The Up button is available when you try to open or to save a file, so I don't understand the inconsistency.

Also try to help those who do not use their computer often (like my mother) or the newbs of the computer is frustrating because I'm like 'build a case' and they're like 'What?' and I must say "click on the folder named [blah blah blah]." I don't consider removing the Up button an upgrade.

It is not symbolized by an arrow, but you can always do it with a single click.  Just click a higher chain, here:

For example, if you were in this area and wanted to go 'up' for the parent, simply click the name of the folder parent in the address bar:

I bet your MOM would not be confused down there.

In addition, you said "the Up button is available when you try to open or to save a file", but it is not really universal: this is if the demand program views shell inherited. Try it with something like Notepad or Word, and you'll see the same as the behavior of the Solution Explorer.

When Windows 7 is under development, they have posted on the blog UX up arrow was redundant, and they didn't want to confuse people with two different ways to mount.  Especially when it means that most people would never notice the improved address bar feature.

But - they always return in Windows 8 as (go figure) very few people never discovered or noticed the development.
