Is there a way to scan both sides of the ADF on OfficeJet Pro 8600?

I try to scan a document very large, double and want to place the document in the ADF and have both sides scanned to PDF.  Is it possible to make this work?  I am running Windows7.

Thanks for any help,

Stasi

  • Scanning both sides of the Mac procedure please

Hello, I bought a MFP HP LaserJet PRO M477fdw.

Scanning on one side is OK but the printer is supposed to be able to do duplex scanning. I is not this function in the system preference--> printer & Scanner. In HP Easy Scan, there is a duplex option, but even I've chosen, hit the scan button on the side as a single scanned computer. Someone knows how to scan both sides at the same time?

Please try scanning with HP Easy Scan by doing the following:

Open HP Easy Scan and then open the menu Presets in the presets menu, define the type of Document and the source as document feeder, then check the box to scan both sides.

  • "Scan To E-mail" configuration on HP Officejet Pro 8600 more N911g

It's the same problem reported by several other users of this forum to which no solution has been provided.

I was not successful to set up the scan e-mail option for a HP Officejet Pro 8600 more N911g bought 12 August 2012 and using CLP1CN1150CR firmware.

I'm trying to do through the interface of the Web server built into the printer from an iMac running Mac OS X 10.6.8 and the 5.8.0 HP utility.  More specifically the page under 'outgoing Scan-> Scan to E-mail-> e-mail profiles.

I tried 2 SMTP from different servers, each one works well to send the email from the computer: Apple iCloud mail service (formerly Mobile Me, formerly known as.) Mac) and AT & T Net messaging service.  I checked the server name, port number, and authentication login and password were all correct.

When scanning to email serves as the printer, I get an error message: unable to connect to the server.  Check the address and the name of the server.

During a test of the computer when configuring a profile of outgoing mail, I get an error message: the device was unable to send the test e-mail message. (EmailAccounts-timeout).

When I try to configure the page under "Settings-> E-mail Alerts-> mail server" and use exactly the same values as those in the e-mail profile out above, registration and Test option fails with an error message: the device was unable to send the test e-mail message.

Oddly enough, I am able to use the client to the computer with the option scan to the computer-> e-mail in PDF format or by e-mail in JPEG format.  With this option, the file is scanned and added as an attachment to an e-mail message from the Mail in Mac OS X client.  The e-mail message is sent via SMTP server even when I press the button send.

All the error messages seem to indicate that the client software of electronic mail of the printer is unable to establish a connection to the SMTP server.  However, it is unclear what configuration setting is one that could be the cause of the problem.

After further research, I noticed that there is another default possible values of port Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP):

    • Port 25 is the standard SMTP port number.
    • Port 465 is the number of SMTP over SSL, Secure SMTP (SSMTP) port.
    • Port 587 corresponds to the port number dedicated for a presentation Mail (MSA) Agent that uses a variant of SMTP, as specified in RFC 6409, which requires that clients are authorized and authenticated to use the filing of mail service.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8610: Scanning both sides of the computer does not not on officejet pro 8610

    Hello

    Help, please!

Set up: Officejet Pro 8610 connected wireless for HP laptop Windows 10.

Mission: I have 10 A4 sheets with stuff on both sides. I want to scan every 20 faces and save them on my laptop in the right order.

I would like to do this automatically thought IE the automatic document feeder.

I use scan options HP Scan and Capture software in document settings

I select the source to be "heavy feeder" and duplex scan (if available) option I select '2 Facer.

Although this force the 8610 take the original since the ADF doc it's only one side.

    That's the problem!

Also if I use the HP Officejet Pro HP printer Assistant, if I select the radio button for the front and back, once its done scanning side 1 of the document it asks me to take the originals and put them in the feeder to make the other side. The scans are then coming out in the wrong order!

I bought this printer so I could do it, but can't make it work. I want to cry. Help, please.

    Thank you

    Hello

The HP Officejet Pro 8610 does not support scanning duplex automatic, that the more advanced of this series models supports a such (8620 & 8630 models)

You can find the printer specifications listed below:

Breeze through multipage documents with automatic two-sided scanning and the 50-page auto document feeder (for 8620/8630 only).

    http://www.HP.com/hpinfo/newsroom/press_kits/2014/OJPro/OfficejetPro8610_8620_8630.PDF

You can only perform this manually with your printer model, I suggest to use the HP scanning software.

If the analysis is delivered in the wrong order, try to install and use the HP extended Scan application and check differences:

    FTP://FTP.HP.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi

    Hope that helps,

  • This officejet pro 8600 is not duplex scan size of different pages, only the size of page letter

I have a desktop hp jet pro 8600 and printer. My original printer scanned pages front and back of different sizes, the printer stopped scanning properly and I replaced with the same model. Now, this printer can not scan other than letter size paper. I can only scan two-sided letter-size pages! The reason why I bought this printer has been for its scanning capabilities. I talked to support HP they said it scans only some dimensions of the page in duplex mode. Please HP DIFFICULTY this problem and give your customers the ability to SCAN RECTO VERSO DIFFERENT SIZES of PAGE. I've been with hp for many years, printers, laptops and a computer

    Message reads

"The document feeder only supports analysis for some sizes of paper double-sided. If your original is too long or short, use the scanner glass.

HP I'm supposed to use glass scanner page-by-page, I bought a officejet pro for special to spend less time scanning features manually. I wonder what the reason for this restriction of page size, it worked on my previous printer.

I solved this problem without downgrading the firmware to version CLP1CN1232AR.

I downloaded and installed HP Web Jetadmin to do this (www. HP.com/go /webjetadmin). Then, I followed the instructions on the manual (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01943164.pdf) to activate this option.

The image I used was obtained on the HP ftp site: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/networking/software/pfirmware

The name of the image is: ojpro_8600_n911_g_n_1232A_09272012.ful.rfu

Now, I can scan both sides of the legal size.

  • HP officejet pro 8600 more and how to scan in word?

How to scan into a word with a HP officejet pro 8600 document more? Why is there no selection for microsoft word given to Adobe PDF? How something to analyze in Microsoft word 2007?

There is no way to scan directly to Word.  Simply not possible on this printer.  Not sure if this is possible on any printer to scan directly to Word.  What you can do, and it of a bit tedious, scan the document into a .pdf file, save the PDF, open the PDF, select all the items in the document, copy it to the Clipboard (Ctrl + C or right click and select copy), open Word, create a new document and paste the Clipboard into the Word document (Ctrl + V or right click and select Paste).  It is the only way to get the scans in word without conveting them form a .pdf, .doc or .docx.  I'm sorry.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 Premium can scan double-sided legal format of the ATF documents?

I can't get the award-winning Officejet Pro 8600 to scan one side of a document of legal size of ATF.  I use Panel of the printer to scan to computer and save to the PDF format.  I select original: two-sided in the Panel.  The printer will scan only on one side and an error message appears saying that the tray supports that double-sided scanning for certain sizes of paper.

    Hello

    Thank you for your message.

Unfortunately, the ADF can scan only 1-sides for legal-size documents.

You can, however, use the software to "Add pages" using glass as the example below.

    Hope that helps.

Please click "Bravo Thumbs up" on the left, if it helped you and 'Accept as solution' If this helped solved your problem.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 scans a page full of lines of garbage

    Hi all

I recently tried the copy and scan functions of my all-in-one OfficeJet Pro 8600.  Each scanned document appears as a page of garbage (see table at right) lines.

I tried the recalibration during a cold, start tried an update of firmware (already up to date), have cleaned all glass on the device and we tried all other patch listed on generic scan HP troubleshooting page.

    Any ideas?

    See you soon,.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600: Officejet Pro 8600 leaves black lines on docs scanned when using the document feeder

This is the second HP Officejet Pro 8600 I had - one was replaced by HP, after that the same issue arose.  I tried to clean the entire unit, but we still get a thin black line running vertically down the page.  This line is divided into sections of 1 "and 2.5" in length.  Sometimes I get the fine line and then almost a shadow line that is parallel.

Any suggestions would be very appreciated I have scan documents to PDF format and it's hassle to put everyone on the flat for scanning.  I use the charger of the doc on a daily basis and wonder if this could have something to do with the lines.

    Thanks for any help.

The question is a spec on thin (~ 1 "wide) glass to the left of the main bed scanner.  Clean this area as described in this document.  It can be difficult to see the affected area, a bright flashlight which is held at an angle to the glass can help find the place.  Even a very small spec on the glass can cause a black line when using the ADF.

  • Not completely scan legal size with Officejet Pro 8600 more Documents

I'm trying to scan legal documents of sizes on my Officejet Pro 8600 Plus new. I have gone through the forums, and this has been a recurring problem in the past (see link- http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Scanning-Faxing-and-Copying/Scanning-Legal-Size-Documents/m-p/35416#M14...   ), but doesn't seem to be resolved. If I use the document feeder or glass, the paper is cut down and seems to be stopping at the "A4", legal vs. size. I can't find any setting on the scanner itself, or in the HP Utility software to change this, or even to be able to identify the current configuration, if it is a.

I use a Mac Pro, system 10.6.8 just installed and started using the printer a couple of days, and everything is up-to-date software-wise. Everything else on the machine works beautifully.

Can anyone identify what is happening here and how to fix?

Thanks for your help - I chose precisely this particular unit on the next model down because of the glass/size bed legal, and if I can't use it to scan legal documents, well, it's a problem. Thanks for your help!

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911n - documents scanned by omitting

I have problems scanning to an email from our HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911n.  I use Windows 8, but I was able to reproduce the error on a Windows 7-based computer and a Windows XP computer.  When I scan a single page to the e-mail I can send it successfully and all recipients are able to successfully open the attachment. But if I scan several pages, recipients, including myself, are unable to get the PDF to open it.  This is the error message I get:

We have 5 profiles set up in the scanner and it seems I'm the only one with questions.  So far, I updated scanning engine, updating my Adobe Reader software and deleted and recreated my profile for scanning to e-mail.

    All advice is appreciated.

    Hi hratti,

As I read your description, I belive that you are using the analysis of e-mail service that does not involve the computer.  The printer can send the scans as email directly via an e-mail provider.

You use a different email provider as other profiles?  You could try to set up a gmail account and enter the new gmail email address in your profile.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 scans to the computer windows 7

I am using Windows 7 on my desktop at home for the first time (since a few weeks ago). I got this HP Officejet Pro 8600 for at least a year now, and it was easy scan documents using my Windows XP.

This morning, I scanned a document on the Windows 7 system, but tonight the icon ("HP Officejet Pro 8600") does not show the scan option. I am stunned. I need to scan more than a few documents and cannot find out how to access this feature. Help, please!

Hi delphine and welcome to the forums of HP!

I see you have a 8600 Officejet which seems to no longer provide the analysis option. I will certainly do my best so that he could share with you scanning capabilities

It's really weird that you get is no longer the option scan so I suggest that you run the HP print and Scan Doctor and see if it finds problems first. If she says that everything out very well we should be able to get an icon on your desktop HP Scan so that you can just open it directly.

To do this, click the start menu, click programs principally made, click the HP folder, click on the HP Officejet Pro 8600 folder and then right click on the HP Scan, select send to and Desktop. Then, you will see an icon on your desktop that says HP Scan and you don't have to go through the HP printer Assistant longer.

I would like to know how it goes for you!

  • HP officejet pro 8600 more: double side id or copy scan

    Hey,.

I have hp officejet pro 8600 and I'm unable to scan or copy id cards on both sides.

y at - it an option for scanning on part and other identification cards or copy bothh sides of ID card?

can you please help me with it, because I really scan identity cards, the two side to my computer.

"" and if there is no video or tutorial on scannig or copy on both sides of the identity card for "hp officejet pro 8600 more ' and then share it with me.

    Thanl you.

    Hi @Sanky1,

While the document feeder allows the 2 sided copy and scan, the loader will feed not IDENTITY cards. What you can do, is copy each side individually, then put two copies on the document feeder and scan 2 faces. If you want both sides of the card on a single page, same idea, copy both sides individually, then place them copies on the glass to scan so that they are aligned with a scanned page.

I hope this helps. If you need further explanation or assistance, let me know.
