Is there an external link to use to restore Windows XP Home to original values? I can only use safe mode at the moment that my computer shuts down automatically (with blue screen)

Running Windows XP home SP3. eMachines T6528 AMD Athlon 64 3500 + processor, nvidia GeForce 6100 GPU
I downloaded and executed a double file Finder and SEVERAL files deleted by mistake.

According to these instructions, you are not supposed to do that! Look at them again. They are on p. 137 (or p. 145). (P. 137, printed on the bottom or the p. 145 of the .pdf file!)

Remove all the drives and physically disconnect all USB and network connections first!

Then either start as you normally would (if you can) and select:

Start | All programs | System recovery | System recovery

and then click Yes.

Or if you are unable to start up as usual, you will need to press F11 at the beginning - almost immediately after the ignition of the PC.

THEN, when you are prompted to, you can insert the disc. :-)

    Hello, 55adan

Since you are not able to access Safe Mode or perform a system repair, you will need to use your system recovery discs or Windows installation disc to reinstall Windows.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/installing-and-reinstalling-Windows-Vista

Please note that if you use a recovery disk, the contents of hard disks is cleared if you need to connect the drive to a working computer down all the files you need.

If you have a Windows install disk, if you choose that a custom installation and DO NOT format the drive, your old files must all be placed in the folder C:\Windows.old. To protect against data loss, it is always recommended to recover all the data you want the drive first well.

  • Satellite L650 - frequent restarting with blue screen

Hi, I bought a L650 on 2 months ago so it is still under warranty.
Recently (maybe last 2 weeks), she continued to end with blue screen of death. It seems to happen more if I open multiple tabs in internet and I thought it might be adobe flash but no longer believe.
It is said if there is no new hardware or software installed try to reinstall but I do not know what software and there is no new material.

Can someone tell if it is a hardware malfunction or my fault somehow?
Is this a warranty issue, or what should I do?
I've never done any windows CD or anything when I bought laptop unfortunately so don't know not if I reformat the hard drive?

    Thank you.

    Hello

It's worse than at the beginning with STOP: 0x000000F4 error message. It is still problematic to help this kind of problems, because your laptop configuration, preinstalled software and activity is not known to us.

In my opinion you should backup all of your important data, install the OS by using HARD drive recovery option and test functionality with original operating system without any additional software installation.

If the BSOD happen again and again that I recommend you contact the closest service Toshiba and ask for help. I have two laptops Toshiba and so far I didn t notice BSOD at all.

I also tried to run Verifier.exe with the option "Select all drivers installed automatically on this computer" and as soon as I chose this option, another mistake (and cannot change this option), DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

If you do not have to debug this problem, you must use certain basic troubleshooting techniques:

    • Make sure you have enough disk space.
    • If a driver is identified in the bug check message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for driver updates.
    • Try changing video cards.
    • Check with your hardware vendor for updates to the BIOS.
    • Disable the BIOS memory options such as implementing caching or shading.

If you plan to debug this problem, you may find it difficult to get a stack trace. Parameter 2 (the address of the exception) should identify the driver or function that caused the problem.

If you do not know the specific cause of the exception, consider the following:

    • Hardware incompatibility. Ensure that all new equipment installed is listed in the list of the products tested Microsoft Windows market.
    • Service driver or defective peripheral system. A chauffeur service or defective peripheral system could be responsible for this error. The hardware problems, such as BIOS incompatibilities, conflicts of memory and IRQ conflicts can also generate this error.

If the verification of the message bug list a driver by name, disable or remove that driver. In addition, disable or remove drivers or services that have been recently added. If the error occurs during the startup sequence and the system partition is formatted with the NTFS file system, you may be able to use Safe Mode to rename or to delete the faulty driver. If the driver is used as part of the start-up procedure of the system Safe Mode, you must start the computer by using the Recovery Console to access the file.

If the problem is associated with Win32k.sys, the source of the error may be a third-party remote control program. If this software is installed, you can remove the system startup service using the recovery and then Console by removing the offending system service file.

Check the system log in Event Viewer for additional error messages that might help identify the device or driver responsible for control of bug 0x1E. You can disable the cache in memory of the BIOS to try to resolve the error. You must also run the diagnostics of material, especially the scanner memory, which provides the manufacturer of the system. For more information about these procedures, see the manual of your computer.

The error that generates this message may occur after the first reboot during Windows Setup, or after installation is complete. A possible cause of the error is lack of disk space for installation and the system BIOS incompatibilities. For any problems during the installation of Windows that are associated with lack of disk space, reduce the number of files on the hard disk drive target. Search and delete temporary files that you do not have to have, files hidden Internet, application backup files and files saved.chk, which contain fragments of files on disk scans. You can also use an another hard disk drive with more free space for the installation.

You can solve the problems of BIOS by upgrading the version of the system BIOS

  • Can only use safe mode and can not access anything except firefox

Basically, there are a few days all of a sudden, a box came up saying Windows Explorer has stopped working. No matter what I click, it returns constantly to the rear. Because I use firefox, I can't to anything except this, and I can't get him if I use safe mode.
It is terribly annoying, I have 6000 + photos and other things I need, i.e. duties.
How can I fix? I can't use the normal mode, and it's annoying.
    Thanks in advance.

Then download your data either by:

1 remove the drive and put it in a box of USB drive or use a USB adapter. Attach it to a computer that is running a working XP/Vista/Windows7 installation. Use the work of Windows Explorer to copy the data to the hard drive of the system to the rescue and burn data on cd or dvd. I prefer not to do it if I know the drive is infected because he has a chance to infect your host system. In these cases, I use #2 below.

    2. you can start the target computer with a Bart PE (if you use XP) or a Linux live CD like Knoppix and retrieve the data in this way. General information about the use of Knoppix for this are:

You will need a computer with two cd records, one of which is an engraver of CD/DVD OR a USB thumb drive with sufficient capacity to store your data, OR an external hard drive formatted USB FAT32 (not NTFS) *. Download Knoppix .iso image file and create your bootable CD. If you do this in a previous (XP or Vista) operating system, you will need the third burning like Nero, Roxio or the free ImgBurn software (Windows 7 can burn .isos natively). Burn as an image, not in the form of data. Then boot with the CD that you created, and Knoppix will be able to see the files in Windows. If you use the USB key or an external hard disk, right-click on its icon (on the desktop) to get its properties and uncheck "read only". Then click on it to open it. Note that the mouse action by default in the window manager used by Knoppix (KDE) is a simple click to open instead of double-click traditional MS Windows. If you want to burn CD/DVDs, use the K3b program.

    * My understanding is that you can now write on NTFS from Linux partition. If you wish to do this, Google for instructions on the use of the NTFS driver.

    http://www.Knoppix.NET
    http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/ - Bart PE Builder

Then do a restore clean factory/install of Windows.

I want to emphasize that you should not take what I wrote as a definitive diagnosis. I can't see or test your computer from here. I give you my opinion on your computer based on my experience as a computer tech and what you have written. If you can't do the work yourself (and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea), take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad). • Can not leave completely insensitive - Firefox, use Safe Mode, reinstall or uninstall

I installed Firefox less than a month ago. Two days ago, that he left suddenly during the navigation. This does seem like a problem, really - I thought I would just restart - but it REMAINS open. Shows the icon in my dock (on Mac), and the menu bar appears when I click on the icon. I can browse the menu selections but can not choose one.

    I can't:
-Leave Firefox - from the menu or with Ctrl + Q
    -Open a new fenΩtre
    -Open help
    -Access to "troubleshooting information.
-Select "restart with modules disabled...". »
    -Use the Safe Mode

Because I can not use Safe Mode and cannot leave the program, I have IMPOSSIBLE:
-Uninstall (it refuses to remove, because the program is 'open', as it won't leave)
-Reinstall (I can't substitute the existing because the program is 'open')
    -Remove my dock
    -.. pretty much anything else.

I've read many articles dealing with troubleshooting, Safe Mode, reinstall clean, etc, but unfortunately I can't make one of these because Firefox is open but completely insensitive.

(PS - I tried to install the below troubleshooting information, but, even once, because Firefox is not responding, I couldn't open it lol - there was "no application available" to read it.) I can't go through the manual steps because I cannot access the troubleshooting information in the Help menu and so cannot even begin step 1.)

If anyone has any suggestions, I would be VERY happy! I thank very you much for your time and help!

If qutting, it's because of the questions are now trying down option as you click the icon in the dock and choose force quit from the list!

Also you have tired Fox fire rest functionality (otherwise said if your power to access)
    To do:

    1. Go to Firefox > help > troubleshooting information.
    2. Click on the button 'Reset Firefox'.
    3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is finished, it will display a window with the imported information. Click Finish.
    4. Firefox opens with all the default settings applied.
  • I have to use Safe Mode to make changes to the Options since update to 4.0.1

Since the installation of 3.7.16 4.0.1, I noticed all of the checkmarks Options are missing, and the only one it seems to change the settings of the Options is to use the Safe Mode, where the check marks become visible. The same thing happens in the preferences of some of the Add-ons as well. I imagine some sort of Config. problem. Feedback to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated. Although version 4 is faster it already miss the old version which worked without major bugs and am seriously thinking to install the old version or change your browser.

    Hi BSRC$, in stock

    1. You have security software installed on the computer?
    2. You receive an error message when you restart the computer?

Reinstalling Windows XP to the factory setting would not be the first option.

It is possible that some third-party programs or the services installed on the computer interfere with the installation of service pack 3.

I suggest that you try to uninstall service pack 3 from the computer by using the recovery console and subsequently ask the article below for what to do before installing the service pack 3on the computer.

    Hi Bilipino,

You have more than one display card? Try to connect your monitor to the another card and see if you can get the display.
