Is - this HIPAA compliant?

Can we get a BAA signed to be HIPAA compliant?

Unencrypted email HIPAA compliant. Of course not.

Is s/mime or PGP encrypted email complaint HIPAA, probably. But respect is a holistic approach to data, not to find pieces of a puzzle and putting them together and will. "We complaint."

Unfortunately I have witnessed many discussions during the past 10 years between consultants HIPPA Compliance and can't do most of the organizations that call themselves complaint are not because their staff simply do not receive confidentiality or security. It does not just a hoot, that you have all the certificates in the world, if you have a fool that sticks the username and password for access to the data of patients on a post-it on the side of the MRT machine.

The answer here is like Thunderbird mail clients and Outlook may be HIPPA compliant, but they are not in their default configuration and will very probably never while the skills assessment does not include the responsible use of it.

I suggest take you a look here https://blog.udemy.com/hipaa-compliant-email/ and with that knowledge pay for certificates of encryption for the Member of staff concerned and have them installed by a qualified professional or contact one of the providers on the link to provide the service you desire apparently. I would go with the other, because I still managed to convince a management practice that the introduction in their own printer and unplug the server e-mail to boil the kettle are not good ideas. IF you need a third party encrypted email provider that will pay enough for their expertise to ensure you maintain your compliance.

  • Complies with Hipaa Siri?

My technologists tell me that Siri is encrypted in transit, encrypted in place.  I guess that Apple would not sign a BAA, but is compatible for use with PHI Siri?

Siri is not HIPAA compliant, because they will not sign a BAA. Their technology "can" achieve the level of compliance that need, but they will have to participate with this agreement. I would like to keep all your PHI away from Siri.

Sends files to doctors using Adobe send HIPAA compliant?

If this is not the case, does Adobe offer any solution for sending large files by e-mail in accordance with HIPAA?  A simple connection type password at the end of doctors would fix it right?

Sending Adobe is not HIPAA compliant, and as far as I know, Adobe does not offer a consistent with HIPAA service to communicate medical information. There are many more HIPAA that just require a login and a password.

I suggest you to contact your doctors to see what system they recommend to communicate electronically with them.

  • Disable the USB port

How do disable you the two USB ports on the front of a Dell Inspiron 3647? Or better yet, the password protect them?

The problem with the software approaches, either change the registry or by using an application like IntelliAdmin, is they disable all the USB storage for all users. If you won't be able to connect a USB or USB either. Note: If you use them, only the key and encrypted USB drives USB encrypted is HIPAA compliant.

You will also need a password protected administrator account and only this account has the right to change the registry or re - run IntelliAdmin to reactivate the USB access.

The Manual shows two connectors on the motherboard to the front USB ports. If you unplug the cables of these two connectors (be sure to store out of the way or cover with the CHATTERTON, so they can't communicate with the motherboard, case, or any other component), you can physically turn off the two front USB ports.

BUT, BUT... I do not know if that generates an error message when the PC starts, or if the PC starts even when these two cables are disconnected. May be worth a try...

My other thought is to put the PC in a cupboard locked (with adequate ventilation) and only personnel are the key.

Since it is a HIPAA question, you may not be the first to meet, then maybe you can find acceptable solutions to the HiPAAJournal.com or related resources.

  • can catch a fax have more 2 rings?

    I have an officejet 4500 all-in-one printer.

Fax built me within the definitions to 2 rings for incoming calls.

This can be changed? I need, say, 5 or 6 rings; What can be done to correct this to comply with my choice?

Yes, it can be changed. I forgot the exact name of the option, but on this printer, you can press the installation icon (key), then go to the fax settings. Here you can see options to answer, or the rings to answer. You can change to anywhere from 2 to 6 rings.

  • Formulation of condition CQL with the source table and Javabean event

    Hello

I managed to create a State in CQL that compares 2 values of TIMESTAMP between a source table and a Java bean.

I did this by complying with the standard DATETIME SimpleDateFormat in the docs.

But the format does not include milliseconds. Is there another way I can do this, without losing the value of millisecond of the Javabean?

    The request is something like

    Select table.*
    table, beans
    where table.sometimestamp < bean.startdate
    and table.sometimestamp > bean.enddate

    where bean.startdate and bean.enddate is a java.util.Date? (or all)

I tried all kinds of combinations like to_timestamp (bean.startdate.getTime ()) but it is not the correct timestamp.

Also tried to use types of java.sql. * but came through different CQL syntax errors.

    Any tips?

    Thank you!
    Jarell

    Hello

I think you have two options:

    (1) to use SimpleDateFormat the of ' pattern. For example: "' yyMMddHHmmssSS', where the last two are the number of milliseconds.

    2) keep as a long (e.g. System.currentTimeMillis)

    Best regards

  • Level of risk profile necessary for HIPAA

The VMware Security Hardening Guide says:

"Risk Profile 2: guidelines should be implemented for the most sensitive environments, for example those who handle sensitive data, those subjected to stricter rules of respect, etc..".

If I'm the target of HIPAA compliance, should I assume that I need to comply with profile of risk 2 on all points all least, or is not as simple as that?

    Hello

You MUST comply with the HIPAA regulations, however, there is nothing in there everything exceeds these requirements. If you feel that the guidelines are for you, then by all means to implement. The regulation is the bare minimum required and defined by the general Committee.  If you feel more comfortable, appropriate, according to the laws HIPAA AND risk II profile can do both, but meeting the profile of risk II does NOT mean that meet you HIPAA regulations.

Regulatory compliance is the starting point is not the end of the security. However the course being does not mean that you meet the requirements of regulatory compliance.

The VCM team did a mapping for you. Go this way.  Or if you prefer use not VCM then you can use HyTrust, mocking and many others. Depending on the tool you use, be sure to trust you with their mappings. This trust is essential. Personally, before choosing a compliance assistance tool, talk to your compliance officer and see if they have heard of the tool or would recommend to others. If 'other' does not work in a virtual environment, you must begin to educate the compliance officer, because they need to understand before they audit for compliance.

  • We have problems with Adobe Acrobat DC - document cloud services and how it relates to the HIPAA.  Everyone is working through these issues?

We have the Cloud of Document with Acrobat DC services issues.  We are considering turning off the cloud feature to stay in compliance with HIPAA.  Everyone is working through these issues?

    Hi mikem82897618,

You can view the following link to see what can be done with Adobe Document Services cloud when you work in Acrobat DC:

Store files online, share & access wherever you are. Adobe Acrobat.com

Also, visit this link to learn more about how Adobe Document Cloud services comply with HIPAA security standards:

Signatures digital signatures electronic vs. services of Adobe eSign

Please specify the same details why you should turn off the cloud feature.

What and where exactly are you facing trouble?

    Let me know.

    Kind regards

  • How can I put my tabs below my address bar after this last update?

(edited for language. Read them guidelines and rules of the Forum -m)

I've always had my tabs below my address bar, and I find it incredibly annoying and ineffective to have above my address bar, as well as over my bookmarks bar.

Before this update I could fix this terribly designed annoyance by laboriously going in: config and setting browser.tabs.onTop to false instead of to say the opportunity to change this in the settings. It was not very obvious for someone who likes the OPTIONS rather than being forced to comply with new design bad decisions, but at least it worked.

With this latest update however, enter: config and while not affecting false browser.tabs.onTop no more miracle now mucked tabs tool bar on top of the rather than below the address bar.

Y at - it another way to change cela, or am I stuck with this?

You can install either of the following Add-ons.

If you don't want to install an add-on, you can put a style sheet in the userChrome.css file.

  • Portege M700: Device Manager reveals five peripheral generic HID-Compliant

We have a M700 Tablet, which came with Vista, but came back to XP using supplied reinstall drive.

The machine works fine for most, but sometimes suffers from a deadlock, which seems to be related to the touch screen.

In device manager reveals five generic "HID-Compliant device" that appear to be duplicates for the other five entries in this section - the other entries seem to be the correct devices because they have specific names - Toshiba tablet buttons type "N" 'USB Human interface device', 'Virtual Driver Touch' "Virtual touch interface" and "Wacom Penabled dual touch"-if each device properties are inspected the settings under 'Driver', 'Détails' and 'Resources' are identical.

I tried to remove redundant entries by deleting in normal mode and safe, but devices reappear.

Is it possible that I can remove these entries and eliminate a conflict between these elements as a source of blockages.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

Normally it should t be a conflict for resources between these different devices.
The Windows operating system should assign automatically different resources if it is needed.

    > I tried to remove redundant entries by deleting in normal mode and safe, but devices reappear.

You can disable the device in Device Manager.
You must first mark the device and then turn it off using the Disable option.
It s a red circle with small PC.

    See you soon
