Is this OK to remove most or all the *.log files?

Windows XP Media Center Edition SP3 on Gateway Intel system double heart Hz 6300, 1.86, 3.24 GB/ram, 320 GB hard drive.

He is allowed to delete most or all the *.log files, or would be a serious mistake?

I never used for anything else than to troubleshooting, then very rarely.  So I would delete them to your heart's content.  However, I must point out that they do not have enough disk space amount to something meaningful, so there is really no need to worry about them.

I hope this helps.  Good luck.

One possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or limits Firefox or plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after the detection of changes (update) for the Firefox program.

Delete all rules for Firefox in the list of permissions in the firewall and leave your firewall again ask permission to get full unlimited access to the internet for Firefox and the plugin-container and the update process.

I did a system restore (I think) and lost all the photos, files and programs.  Can someone tell me please how do I get back them?

Looks like your user profile has been corrupted in some way and XP connected to a new profile.  This means that when you connect, you see one of your stuff and can be also lack all the other programs you may have installed previously.

Note that the system restore do not know or care about the personal files on your system.

Unless there's a disaster or instead of a system restore you done a system recovery files would be still on your system somewhere - you just find them... and when you find them, you can correct what happened.  If you have made a recovery of the system instead of a system restore, then all is lost and you need to recover from a backup.

Have you performed a search of Windows to see if you can find some of these photos and files?    For example, you could search for something like "Resume.doc" or a file name that you remember exactly to see if it is anywhere on your system and where it is.

Why don't you get in Windows Explorer and (assuming that XP is installed on your C drive), navigate to this folder:

    C:\Documents and Settings

Below, you will see that each user on your system has their own folder for their personal belongings.  You will see also some folders listed user that you do not recognize, but that's normal.

Under the folder of each user, there is another folder, as "Documents of Jose" and under this 'Jose music' and «De Jose Pictures»  Dig a little and check them all to see if you can find your missing stuff.

Just take a look in the Control Panel, add/remove programs to see if "missing" programs are still installed, but all not available when you are logged in (you don't have to 'do' something - just look at).

Assuming that you can find your missing stuff, determine where we (which will make feel you better knowing that it is not really gone), then report back and someone can help you straighten things.

All files in the windows in the index (or whatever that is called) are called "$NtUninstall" followed by a lot of numbers.  I'm afraid to turn off this option.  What to do?  Is this a virus?

It seems that if you have enabled the option "show the hidden files and folders".  If you want to re - hide these files:

    • Click Start > My Documents
    • Click on the menu Tools, then Folder Options
    • Click the view tab
    • Scroll down and select the radio button for "do not show hidden files and folders".
    • OK your way out

The files of $ $NTUninstallKBxxxxxx are the files that the system creates for use if you ever decide that you want to uninstall the corresponding Windows updates.

As a general rule, you must uninstall not Windows updates unless you can specifically identify an update as causing a problem.  Thus, some people want to delete all the $NTUninstall files in order to earn a little extra space on the hard disk.

Although deleting these files generally will not be free very much space, if you are interested, check out this article--> http://windowsxp.mvps.org/Hotfix_backup.htm

I recommend that you leave the files where they are and re - hiding as described above.

  • Loss of all Redo Log files

    Hello

It's for testing purposes and practice of recovery scenarios. Database is in log mode archive. My question would be on the scenario in which we loose that redo all online log files available.

Now after doing a lot of research on the internet I could find two scenarios.

    CASES1

My recovery logs have been lost. But I could stop normal or immediate of the database. In this case I could perform incomplete recovery using my archived logs and re create the logs online redo with the resetlogs option.

    CAS2 (my question)

My recovery logs have been lost and the system crashed. Now, oracle would need perform a recovery of proceeding on re start, however there is no present setpoint recovery to perform this restore.

Is it not possible to recover the database, even if I have a valid backup? If there is, how do you do that?

    Thank you

If you lose all copies of online redo logs, you lost all those transactions. Data files may or may not have some or all of the data of those redo logs. You need restore the database and retrieve it at the point in time of the last series of archive logs (at the latest) and go from there.

But guess what? Oracle expected that someone might have a question like that, and actually (gasp) has documented the scenario:

Download this message when I try to run Lightroom. The procedure entry point AgTransitCargo_pushTransitCargo could not be found in the AgKernel.dll dynamic link library

    Hi Michela,

Lightroom makes a call the the AGkernel.dll file, but the file isn't sure what to do because it can't find the line of code within himself to answer. This can happen for several reasons, that fall within these two broad categories: AGkernel.dll is damaged and must be repaired or AGKernel.dll version is incorrect and should be updated to the correct version.

Here are some things you can do to fix the file:

-Record again with Windows AGKernel.dll: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/249873

    -Windows repair: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929833

-Install all the updates that are available for Windows: Windows Installer updates

    -Uninstall and reinstall Lightroom

    Kind regards

  • Packer of creative cloud in creating a package that I can install do not.  He goes through the motions, download all updates, create setup file, but it does not work despite the fact that there are no errors in the log files

Packer of creative cloud in creating a package that I can install do not.  He goes through the motions, download all updates, create setup file, but it does not work despite the fact that there are no errors in the log files

After hitting my head against the desk to repeatedly create packages, try on different computers I have finally found a solution.

These packages have been copied on an external drive, if I try and install from the external drive, which is a common practice, it fails.

If I then copy this file pkg from the outside, to the computer I install, then run it, it will to and moved very well.

That is mind-boggling stupid, because it's rare that you have to copy the file into any computer, it is less always installed off the coast of externally, and many people in the company are pushing on the network and the management of the suites so there is a serious problem in Adobe package manager if this is the case where it cannot manage the Middle installed offshore.

I hope that if anyone else is having problems so it suits.

  • LR to read the metadata of the file, automatically or manually all the configuration files

    Hello

I would like to know how to configure LR for the following use cases:

    1. Read the metadata from all the photo files once.
    2. Always read all files, so "to start" stage, on a regular or - ideally - on basis of evolution into a file.

I already know how to "read metadata" for individual or selected, files but my questions are in regards to pictures of my catalog.

Another way to look at this is: how to select all the images? Is it possible to say to LR to read the metadata for the selected images and apply "import disc settings' as the default for conflicts?

I don't understand what some of the implications of are, as a decline in performance in the section files/XMP metadata are only a subset of the LR metadata keeps in the catalog, for example flags, the collection members, develop the story, etc. are all not stored in XMP as I understand it - and it's good for me.

All my files are JPG or TIFF, so the XMP section is contained in the files, not in separate sidecar XMP files. On my file system my photos are usually organized in a folder structure as follows: J:\Pictures\Year\Month\Event.

    Thank you very much!

    Stefan

    1. Select all Photos (click on all of the photographs, turn off filters, expand all the batteries, then Ctrl + A) then the metadata-> read metadata from files

    2. cannot be done. Reading metadata from files must be started manually.
