ISearchQueryHelper - search for content of Zip files

Hello

I use inside ISearchQueryHelper interface my .net / c# application to search for files of windows.

This works very well for all files uncompressed. But if I search for Zip files / compressed, it does not give me the results of research.

All I want is just to give me a list of files that match the text that I'm looking for...

If the file is .txt, .log, etc, I will get the result...

But if the file is .zip, it does not give me the results.

Here is the SQL query...

«"" "" "'SELECT \"System.ItemPathDisplay\', \"System.ItemName\', \"System.ItemFolderPathDisplay\ ', \"System.Message.CcName\ ', \"System.ItemNamePrefix\ ', \"System.ItemFolderNameDisplay\ ' OF \"SystemIndex\ "WHERE CONTAINS(*,'\"error*\"',1033) AND scope =' leader: C:\\Users\\dhanusks\\Desktop\\zTemp' AND (System.FileName LIKE"%.zip"OR System.FileExtension AS '%.zip') ORDER BY System.ItemPathDisplay ASC»

Please help me!

Most of my issues in search windows are unaswered. Ms search team it must support?

Hope that I expect an answer to this question.

  • Search for content of a file in Windows 7 does not work. What I am doing wrong?

I read a bunch of messages on this website, as well as others, on the way to search for content in a file. I followed the instructions, but it does not work for me.

As I understand it, if I'm looking for a file containing the word 'pelican', I must type

    content: "Pelican".

    It does not work.

I also read that it speeds up the search if I turn on indexing. This is not feasible because there is more than 4 TB with a value of files on my company's server and indexing is apparently intended to apply only to files that are frequently used in areas that are frequently used.

I guess I'm doing something wrong, because I've seen post this question even others and tell then the answer has worked for them, but it does not work for me.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Just type Pelican in fact, content: is not necessary.

If you do not want to reserve a site indexed, there is an option that you can set to make a slow files manual scan (although it might take hours or days or weeks for the search engine to open and analyze inside 4 TB with a value of files over a slow network connection.  I hope that the server is indexing on, even if you do not have.  If this isn't the case, you'll be sorely out of luck.

  • Search for content in pdf files stopped working after the migration of Windows 2008 Indexing Service

    Hello

We have designed a search custom as an aspx page that uses the Indexing Service to search for content in a set a which coexist document types (doc, pdf, xls, etc.)

We moved to a Windows Server 2003 Indexing Service to Windows 2008 and since the Indexing Service has stopped the search pdf files. The search returns only another type of pdf files.

On the new server where the Indexing Service, I installed Adobe PDF iFilter 11 for 64-bit platform, I think it's the plugin the Indexing Service uses to find the content of pdf files.

Does anyone got the Search Indexing Service content in PDFs on Windows 2008 server?

When you try to import a .mp4 file in windows movie maker, the program does not list the file when I search for it in his file.  Help, please.

As I suggested previously, conversion to a format like
. WMV before you import it into Movie maker may be the solution.

The free Converter from Microsoft can be a place to start:

    When you install the program...

    (Start / programs / Microsoft Expression /)
    Microsoft Expression Encoder 4)

On the "Load a new project" screen...
    Left click... "Transcoding project '...

When the program opens, click on... File / import...

(If at any time you get lost while browsing
the program of... to... Window / active Reset
Type or workspace... CTRL + SHIFT + R)

Look for the file/s that you want to convert.
(If files do not appear... open the fall
    window and choose... All files)

Click (highlight) left the files and the left on the Open button.

You can see the files in the "Multimedia content" pane

In the right column... left click on the tab "Output"...

Open the drop directory window and choose an output folder.
(This is where you will find your converted file)

On the left, click on the button "encode".

Wait... video encoding CPU intensive and can
be a slow process. It is always best if you do not have
    multi-task while files are encoded.

Now... try import you again. File WMV in Movie Maker.

    More converters:

There are to many converters available on the net...

    Hello Wolfixx,

    Method 1.
If you have problems of location of the files, folders, or other items on your computer, try using the search and indexing of troubleshooting to solve the problem. It ensures that the Windows Search service is running and checks if you have the correct permissions to search all the directories on your computer.
See the article below for additional information and steps.
Open the troubleshooter for search and indexing

    Method 2.
Also I ask you to re - index files and then check. Follow the artticle below for the procedure.

  • Search for text in the file Excel, Explorer, does not.

Have a workbook (.xlsm).  In a cell, there is a simple text value (not the result of a formula).  The value is "Homestreet. I type Homestreet in the search box on Windows Explorer.  By the Explorer, the file is not found.  Many users report similar complaints, and so I found several suggested solutions that sounded quite peremptorily declared. So, I have and have done or checked all of the following items, but still the file is not found when I search for it using Windows Explorer.

o that I have rebuilt the index (which was like 24 hours or more).
o in the Explorer. Search folder options, I chose "always search file names and contents", "include subfolders" and "find partial matches."
o in the Panel. Indexing Options. Advanced | Types of files, the file of type "xlsm", it is checked and the option for "Properties Index and contents of the file" button is selected for that file type.
o checking attributes advanced in each folder to the folder containing the file, 'allow files in this folder to have content indexed in addition to the properties' is checked.
I have no idea why should have to do all these things simply to find text in an excel file, but I have them all.  Seems to be a very poor design something that should just be simple. Seems more reliable to find something on the internet, with a simple and direct search by typing text into a search box, to find something on my local C drive! But, beyond this comment... the result of all the above is effort... still, the search does not find the file!
So is there any other suggestions to get the Search Explorer to work? (Or, if you have any suggestions for a good a third-party tool efficiently search my local disc C, which can actually search the contents of Excel files, this suggestion would be appreciated, too).
    Thank you!

  • Search for content when the State is not released

I would like to know how to search for content items that do not have a value of dStatus of appeared.

Our use case, is that we have a few users who generate most of our content. At the present time they put the release Date to a value in the distant future, if the documents are not being released. However, when they want to edit or review the documents, they must go to work in progress screen that exposes none of the search functionalities of the AAU. We are looking at workflow, but that does not necessarily easier to find the documents they need, because so many documents will be in the workflow at any given time. Any ideas on how I can help my user documents that have not been released? Thank you.

I had a similar request. The solution is the following:

Use the GET_DATARESULTSET Service that executes a query that retrieves data revisions, Documents, and the DocMeta table.
Build a custom service similar to GET_DATARESULTSET, which can be run by any user (currently this service has access admin only)
Build a page similar to serach screen, in which the user selects the search criteria.
Note that the parameter to this service is a database where clause (dDocType = 'XXX') against a content server search query (dDocType "XXX").
The content button Search/retireve should run the service to return a result set.
Build a similar model or use the form of search results to display the results.

I used the service to retrieve results (released and unreleased) but executed with api cis. Therefore, I did not the serach, component of a page of search results page.

    Good luck with your stuff.

    Thank you

  • Searching for names of files to search for content

The search function in XP had an option so that on each individual search that you had an option to specify that you want to search in the contents of a file, but by default it would find the names of files only.  It looks in Windows 7, you cannot specify "names of files only" or "filenames and content" the on a per search basis , but it is now a Windows setting.  You go in the Tools menu of the Explorer and then Options records, then in the tab "Search", you choose one or the other radio button for 'What to look for', but this setting is now applied to all research.

Is it possible to specify on a per search basis?

Of course, just put the filename property before the words to search for:

    file name: SearchWords

  • Search for content in Edit Status

    Hi all

I have a content which has just a revision, which is released into the workflow and Edit Status. Is is there a way I can get it in the results of the research.

When I try to run a query xCustom < contains > 'Test', where xCustom is custom metadata and have value as a Test, I get no results.

    Hello

If I understand correctly, you are looking to do research based dStatus = edit, right?

This metadata column is hidden (not used) in the default search page, but it is used when you search the content of the Repository Manager. Applet, it uses the following service with the following call to list content items:

    IdcService = GET_DATARESULTSET

    dataSource = Documents

    whereClause = (dStatus AS 'EDIT')

GET_DATARESULTSET is a service call which executes a Select query on the database. The query is built from the dataSource parameter.

The current data source list is stored / retrieved from std_resources.htm (location: /Oracle_ECM1/ucm/idc/resources/core/tables)

To view these browser content perhaps you could write a RIDC code or run the browser as shown above service:

    http://hostname/ReportServer: port/cs/idcplg? IdcService = GET_DATARESULTSET & dataSource = Documents & whereClause = (dStatus AS 'EDIT') & resultName = list & IsJava = 1

When checking for the @ResultSet list and under this listed dDocName result page are all the content id benefiting from the Edit status.

GET_DATARESULTSET is not a HTML associated with it, so must be output using IsJava parameter for content list.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you

  • How to search the content of the file to open a file from an application?

For example, most of the Windows applications, if I open a file in this application, I type the exact filename for character character in order to open this file. How can I set my computer to find just what I type, whether it's the file name, or a Word document? You will notice in my picture I typed QZ04, which is actually the name of a file that is not supported, but then I tried looking for a supported file and got the same dialog box. Is this a problem with the functionality of the application or the computer has itself?

I use a HP with Windows 7 p6325a computer if that helps. Thanks in advance

This is the program.  The box of files of type down below is actually a display filter. If the programmer who built allows it, you can change this to "all files" instead.  But it is the one who built the program.

But yes - you must type a name of file right here.  The person who wrote the program that you are using has not provided to you with a search box.  If they had, you would have seen this instead:

  • The search for folders instead of files

When I do a search on the way to the charms of the right side of the screen, I choose "Files" but records NEVER appear in the search. I can't have shortcuts for everything in my computer. Is it possible for the records displayed. I didn't know if I missed something.

    Otherwise I'll live :)

    I just wanted to ask.
