Issue 4620 printhead HP

We have a hp 4620 all-in-one printer. When we left Florida for maine in the spring, we took the cartridges where they might flee. When we got back last weekend, we put the cartridges back in, but the printer does not print. any ideas on how to get the ink flowing again? the cartridges were sealed closed, but we think that the holes in the printer head can have dried. the cartridges have ink in them.  any ideas will be appreciated. Thank you!

My next suggestion would be to check the date of warranty or the expiration date on your ink cartridges and contact HP directly to see if they could see fit a replacement of the cartridge.

  • HP support is killing me

Please forgive me.  I'm at the end of my rope with HP email support.  We have proven that the printer print heads need to be replaced, but remote assistance representatives continue to ask us to print the pages - which, of course, does not print because the condition of the print heads will not print (in warranty).  We tested the issue with printheads on the other as a printer; with these printheads the printer in question performs very well.

Email support representatives continue to ignore this truth, preferring to provide instructions of diagnostic for different models and instructions a combination of keys that do not produce no results with our another example of the same model.

I'm tired of repeating myself.  Can someone here suggest to call or write to resolve what seems like a simple enough question?

    Thanks for all the senses.

Thank you; I did it.  One hundred twenty - nine very patient minutes later (after the cat, appeal and redundant email chain), was told to expect a new set of printheads by warranty.

Cost: Estimated 270 minutes plus fees of $55 technician.

Advantage: $75-150 saved by seller relating to the guarantee agreement.

Gross yield: 4-$21 per hour, less than income and pleasure life lost by investing in this simple goal.

    NET (loss): a specification resource.

Consultant technical, I am deeply experienced with the process of diagnosis, including levels of support and strategic initiatives focused on costs.

As a consumer, I'm concerned based on the strategy of support takes over the customer's satisfaction.

As a professional, I am baffled by the support that is so steeped in resistance to quick results.

As a Manager, I am saddened that some suppliers of so cripple their own support staff, per obvious lack of training, supervision and motivation.

I hope that this experience of support is also educational for others, as it has been for me.

  • Office jet pro 8610: printhead issue when idle for a long time

I live half the year in Florida and the other half in North Carolina. I have the same printer model in both places. On the advice of technical support from HP, I remove the ink cartridges and put them in a bag before I left for the season. I just returned to my house from the North and had a problem with the printer/ink. It was resolved by HP by sending me a new print head, because this printer is still under warranty. But the next time it won't. I try to learn if there is a better way to deal with the issue of a printer sitting inactive for six months. Must I also drop and the bag to the top of the print head? Should I just take the cartridges back with me, so they will be used frequently? Is there a reason to think about letting the printhead to sit empty for months would cause a problem? ANY advice would be welcome, because I've always had problems upon returning to a unused printer. TIA!

    Hey @sls2,

I see that you are worried about having your printhead replaced on your e-all-in-one Officejet 8610 printers if they have any questions after you have not used for several months. I can answer for you.

First of all, if the printer is no longer under warranty, they print head would not be replaced. It is a replaceable part, however you must buy the HP printhead if cartridges does not solve your problems. Here are some things that can be done:

Let the printers power when they are not in use. If printers are turned on, the printers can do the maintenance to keep the cartridges and ink system to dry more quickly. This can save your print heads. Of course, this does not work if there is no power when you are away.

Buy an extended warranty for printers. You can contact the HP Support by clicking here and filling out the form below and they can provide you with options of extended warranties and treat everything immediately. Please note that they will need serial number of the printer to record it all for you. You can also buy a warranty by visiting HP Shopping. When you follow this path, you will need to call the number included in the package of warranty and they will need serial number of the printer.  Whatever it is, the printer should work when you buy the warranty.

Buy a HP Laserjet Printer. LaserJet printers use toner, which is a dry power rather than the wet ink. These printers may be left in storage for years, opened again and can always print. This would put an end to any concerns about the cartridges or the print heads. The disadvantages of these printers is that, unless you use a single black printer, the cost per page is superior for printing from the Officejet 8610. This path would make printing very expensive photographs, so this is something to be aware of the fi.

Buy a printer with a system of two-ink cartridge. HP printers with two ink cartridge systems have print heads integrated cartridges instead of the printer. This means that if the cartridge doesn't work over the cartridge can be replaced instead.

The downside of this is that your average cost per page to print would increase. You can compensate for this by subscribing to the printer for instant ink program and cancel your subscription until you change your location. You can learn more about the program by clicking on this link.

  • 4620 wireless with the new modem issue

This will be my first post on this forum so Hello to you all!

Until week th elast everything was working but: I have a 4620 all-in-one connected to the wireless network (it's a netgear modem) and I was able to print wireless all documents of any surface (iPhone, iPad, Macbook, Samsung galaxy,...). I recently switch to another type of wireless connection, it's "half-way optical fiber": my provider provides me with a modem that can go from 20 to 30 mega on the wires in my apartment and it connect to the fibre outside the building.

Now, I tried to set up my printer to my macbook. Everything works very well with a USB cable, when I remove the USB cable during configuration (such as the window for example), it is not able to find my printer and Setup fails.

Printer and macbook has the same SSID, the printer has an IP (192.168.1.138) but can't find my macbook. Is there some strange decor I not taken into account? Is there something, in your experience, I put on the page settings of the modem?

Please help me, it drives me crazy as Wi - Fi is crucial for me, as I have to print documents from multiple sources!

    Paolo

Finally found the solution! Last night I did all work properly!

The fact is that this new modem allows two mde connection: 2.4 ghz and 5 GHz. My provider set as well with the same SSID and password so I did not understand that my macbook connected to 5 g wirelees while the printer on the 2.4 g.

When I separated the two network different SSID and password I could connect to the same network and got all this work! Even my ihpone, ipad and whether

    Great printer by the way!

  • 4620 OfficeJet won't print black

My printer does not print anything in black. I replaced the cartridge black and tried everything to troubleshoot print quality and troubleshooting blank pages printed without result.

I tried using Mac OS X 10.8 and Windows 7 64-bit, with the same results.

    @PetuniaJH

Because it's a 4620 I would advise calling HP hotline, regardless if it is no longer under warranty...

  • OfficeJet 4620: Cannot sweep to macOS 10.12 Sierra with Officejet 4620

Since the update to Mac OS 10.12 Sierra, I am unable to scan using my Officejet 4620.

I used to use the HP scanning software which worked well but I found out it only works with OS X 10.11 and earlier versions.

The HP Easy Scan Soft says that it works with Mac OS or OS X 10.9 and later so I installed this.

However, when the application is open there is a yellow explanation mark on the image of the scanner. The scanner is selected under the scanner drop-down.

The printer works well, is that the scanning feature that does not work. I tried to reboot my laptop and printer and you have reinstalled all the drivers and application, but it still does not connect.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks in advance

    Phil

    Hi Phil,
The HP scanning application is indeed incompatible with Sierra, so you may experience problems.
Remove the scanning HP by moving to the trash, then empty the trash, also remove all currently installed HP Easy Scan instances.

Then install the latest version below, it will be installed in the Applications folder:
    http://FTP.HP.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/OSX/installations/Essentials/HP-easy-scan-1_7_0.pkg

If you experience additional problems, ensure that the latest version of the software is installed by following HP Easy Start below:
    http://FTP.HP.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/OSX/applications/HP_Easy_Start.app.zip

Finally, make sure that your drivers are up-to-date by clicking the Apple icon, select about this Mac and then press on software update.
Click on the Bank on the menu bar, click Reload Page, click all update if an update is available.

If you can meet with other issues, the printer is connected via USB or wireless?

    Kind regards

  • HP 4620: guaranteed

If you are considering buying a Hp4620 all in one printer, avoid like the plague. I had one of those bought for me as a present 2014 Jan. It worked well for about 6 months. Then after he developed a printhead problem while it was under warranty I was able to contact HP online. They talked me through all the various patches, but nothing has worked for a replacement was sent. Large, or was it? When the replacement arrived I got an immediate problem with him again once I went online to talk to a grumpy but this time after putting in the numbers series etc I was informed that my printer was no longer under warranty. I went into the details of my previous printer and once more, I was able to discuss with a representative online. I told the rep, I was not happy to lose the warranty of my printer and it agreed to modify the warranty due to expire during my first printer would, January 15, 2015.

Large, or was it? A few weeks ago my printer developed some problems, so I thought that I could chat with someone online. I entered the serial number etc, but even once told me that my warranty has expired. At that time, I had lost the details of my last printer so I couldn't see if that was always recorded. I filled the form of guarantee of the dispute and which has expelled HP but still did not have the decency to answer. Horrible customer support.

The 2 problems I have now with the printer is, 1. I can't the ink black print for love nor money. I bought a genuine new cartridge but it won't play ball. I cleaned the printheads again and again, I tried to run 100's of black copies only to end up with a blank sheet of paper. 2. for the 1st time since I bought the printer, I tried to use the scanner wireless but sent messages from the computer saying that it was an error, try changing the IP number and the printer saying that it was not connected to the Internet. I know what I have printed a document of my iPhone as a test, although a white sheet of paper. Software and drivers are all up to date. For months, I was bombarded with messages saying that networkcommunicator has detected a problem, maybe this relates to the issue of scanner?

All in all, I won't buy more HP, they are not reliable and the after sale support and the service is horrendous.

    Hello

  • HP Office Jet Pro 4620: 4620 HP won't wakeup

After installing and printing, the HP4620 goes to sleep.  after time, it HP4620 not to wake and print via WiFi.  I've seen lots of posts with the same problem, I have had the printer for over a year and it worked fine up until about a month

    Hi @ JimTsr,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that your Officejet 4620 e-all-in-one printer is not printing wireless when it goes into sleep mode. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector. Once done, this document explains How to fix connectivity issues with your printer.

Please let me know the results after following the above. If it allows you to print, click on accept solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.

  • HP Officejet 4620 e-all-in-one stop wireless print whenever it is turned off

My HP 4620 stop wireless print whenever it is turned off, although it is connected to the network (by the results of the test network wireless, pass & the quality of the signal is excellent).  No troubleshooting - HP Print & Scan Doctor work there is no help, I have to uninstall & reinstall the printer each time to be able to print wireless again.

I use it on/on button to turn the printer off, don't disconnect not.

Please help, or I need to return to the store, this is the third time!

I also had the same issue and after a few game it seemed to have fixed so here's what I did... Hope this helps someone else.

-My printer is connected to my wireless network.

-On my computer that I'm connected to the printer through the IP address 192.168.1.153... (Yours may vary) in a browser

    * You can find the ip address printers on the control panel of the printers by pushing the wireless button and pushing the ok option 1, it should appear with the intensity of the signal and the ip address is at the bottom.

-Once I was on the Printers page in my browser, I went to the tab network at the top.

-Then to Internet Printing Protocol section (on the left in the advanced settings)

-On my own PPI was already on, but the location was empty I put a '1' in the location box and then applied settings.

-C' is the only thing that I changed and now my printer is asleep as always, but when I print something from my iphone, mac or pc it wakes up and prints as it is supposed to!

BTW before I went to the printer via the browser. I changed layout sleep in 15 minutes via the Control Panel on the printer itself, don't know if it helped the issue or not because I still had the problem of sleep after I set the timer to 15 minutes instead of 5 min. But I solved my problem after performing the steps above!

Also note that on the one hand some ppl on here say it's a network problem or a router! This is NOT the case I never even tried these roads and I solved my problem only by changing the setting of the printer! I have not set a static ip address or something like that!  The above steps is things ONLY I touched and my problem is SOLVED!

    Router: NETGEAR AT & T 7550 wireless router/dsl Modem

    -Security: WPA2-PSK (AES)

-Printer connected to the router via WPS (push button configuration)

    Printer: HP Officejet 4620e all-in-one

Computer: Apple iMac OS X Version (connected to the network via wifi) 10.7.5

Dell running Windows 7 server (connected to the network via wifi)

  • HP Officejet 4620: HP Officejet 4620 only ink red print documents computer

    Hello

I'm connected wireless to my printer HP Officejet 4620. I use the XP operating system (I know very dated) I am trying to print Word documents and they are just an impression in red ink. When I try to run "Clean printhead" function black ink prints fine through the printer. Can someone help me or explain the reasons for which the documents are only printing red ink through my computer?

    Thank you for your time,

    Steph

    Hey @StephyB,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that e-all-in-one Officejet 4620 prints in red when you print from Word on your Windows XP computer. I can help you with that.

Probably what is happening is there is a font setting that has been changed in Word. If you are unable to find such a context, then the following can be done:

    1. Close any programs you have open.
    2. If the printer is connected via a USB cable, remove it.
    3. Click on start, control panel and printers.
    4. Right-click on any icon of your printer listed.
    5. Click on remove the instrument.
    6. Repeat for all other icons of your printer listed.
    7. Uninstall the drivers and the software associated with the printer.
    8. Download the latest drivers by clicking on this link.

Please let me know if this allows you to print in black. If so, please click on accept solution. If you appreciate my help, please post it by clicking the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.
