Issue of PERC H310 Drive-Through.

The H310 (or any PERC card) continues to monitor the health of player even though the player is not part of a raid array. as a non-raid drive?

Eend_Dylan,

Regardless of the configuration of the hard disk, raid or non-raid, the controller will always make the health of readers. So using OpenManage Server Administrator or OpenManage Essentials, you can see the health of disks as well.

Let me know if it helps.

    Hello experts,

I have a server T420 with 8 Bay running 2 SATA 3 "switchable hot 5 Dell hard drives.  The controller is a Perc H310.

I would like to know what kind of hard drives could be integrated into empty compartments. I would like to use non - Hot Swap as well to extend storage. Buy standard 3 "5 7200 RPM Sata Hard Drivies? Will it work?

Thanks in advance. Appreciate your attention.

    Concerning

    Afreire,

You can use enterprise class SATA disks up to 4 TB in the remaining locations. You will need to the carriers for the readers, even if they are non-RAID.   H310 controller supports the use of JBOD (just a bunch of disks) without having them in a RAID.   OpenManage them will see as non-RAID drives.

  • PERC H310 H710p migration

    Hello

I'm not an expert in RAID configurations but I am in charge of server Dell T320 my company and we will replace the storage controller that comes with it (H310) with a PERC H710p. We have a configured RAID-1 and we will continue to use the two disks of same after migration. We will replace the controllers.

I know I have to do a backup before you replace the Exchange, but we will lose the RAID-1 configuration and data (including the operating system) after migration? Or it will be transparent to the system after reboot?

Where can I find a type of paper that could guide me through this process because I don't want to wreck anything.

Thanks a lot for your help.

    Jorge

    Hello.

It is advisable to back up your data before performing any maintenance task. Ensure that you have a backup is valid data. The PERC H710 P supports the migration of virtual disk controller PERC H310. As a best practice, make sure that the hard drives and firmware H710 P is up to date. Replace the H310 and update the H710 P firmware with the controller cables disconnected from the background. Stop the server and connect the cables of the controller in the background and then restart.

Your RAID configuration can be transparent to the system or appear in a foreign configuration. Clear the foreign configuration through the utility OpenManage Server Administrator (OMSA) or Ctrl + R for the POST.

I would like to know how it works for you.

  • Updated full M610/620 PERC H310 Mini RAID 1 disk

I have 8 servers in my M1000e chassis.  They have all two drives 146 GB in Raid-1.  Just got in a boat load of 600GO drives gently used off PE R630 servers who are re-designed in a laboratory.

I would like to replace all the records with the largest, with minimal downtime and no data loss.

Advice? Tips? Advice?  Everything would be extremely appreciated before I mess up and make + 400 users very angry with me...

    Hello.

It is possible to perform this operation with minimal downtime. Ensure that you have a backup validates your data just to be safe. You can do this by deleting every old hard drive and replacing with 600 GB disk, one at a time. Let the new drive to rebuild completely before replacing the other. You can monitor the progress of the reconstruction in OpenManage Server Administrator (OMSA) if installed. Clear the foreign configuration if it appears on the disc, if the drive rebuilt and state LOAN ; assign as a Global hot spare.

You will notice that the total capacity of the virtual disk (VD) will not 600GO, because there will be unused space on the disks. You will use the property capacity expansion (OCE) online from your controller to claim unused space. In OMSA, GB storage-> PERC H310-> virtual disk-> available-> Reconfigure tasks-> capacity and continue. Under RAID level, select RAID 1 and enter 100 to recover any space unused on the disks and continue. See schematic illustration below:

I want to install a Windows Server 2008 operating system on a new PowerEdge R420 and I need to install the drivers for the PERC H310 controllers but I can't find the drivers as the only windows setup exe files or DUP which doesn't help since I always is not a running operating system.

    Thank you

You can use the switch/extract for the DUP or you can use the 'hard drive' version (ZPE).  Since you didn't say what version of 2008 you have been installing, I took the trouble to post all the:

There is a * (optional) * updated by Windows Vista to...
    * Update driver Intel (R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network connection *.

I would like to know if it's a good idea to go for the update of this window gave or not?

    2. I've heard that it has deepened the Start button > all programs > Toshiba > a place where I can go and it could me check for all needed updates for the drivers of Toshiba and all necessary updates...

Pls any idea where to do it?

    Thank you

    Hello

This update seems to be linked to the Intel WLan driver.
I think it s not necessary to update the Intel WLan driver through update of Windows Vista.
If you want to update the WLan driver then visit the page of the Toshiba Wlan driver or the Intel page.

With regard to the second question.
You can visit the European driver Toshiba page and there you can check what newer drivers have been released.

There is also a tool called Toshiba [Tempro | http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/generic/TEMPO_RELEASE/] that keep you abreast of software updates and the latest Toshiba driver as soon as they are released

    Grolle,

Leave in the Raid Controller, what is the status of the table? In addition, was the raid 1 initialized after being created? If this isn't the case, then, who will have to be done before you try to install.

If you download this and start on the lifecycle controller (F10) and then select deploy BONES, load these files there and proceed with the installation of the OS.

  • R320 / Perc H310 / SATA 3.5 - want to use SSD

    Hello

    I recently bought a Dell taking r320.

Unfortunately, I realized that I would have probably gone to Perc H310, am looking to upgrade. I would also like to run with SSDS supported, even if it is in the format of disk 3.5 "caddy. Can someone help me determine what parts I need to buy for this specification. I don't mind move from SATA to SAS (no doubt, it's just a change of cable?).

    Thanks for your help.

Looking at your photos (which somehow only published this morning, but with a timestamp older than my response), you don't need to worry about wiring. Backplane SAS aura disks SAS or SATA, 2.5 "or 3.5" variety.

  • Information about the PERC S100 driver

I have a PowerEdge T110 server with a PERC S100 driver.  I need to restore my system with Windows 2008 SMB o/s.  When I enter in the system recovery options, it ask me to driver for the reader. Does anyone know what hard disk driver, I can you and where I can get it.  I checked on the Dell Support site. I can't seem to find the driver that I don't need to install.

You need the driver disk version, and you must run it to extract the files before using it.

If by "SMB" you mean "SBS", will need you the 64-bit version:

  • Need driver for PERC H310

    Hello dell and community!

I never thought that I need to contact the community to the problem. However, now the day has come. Before describing the problem, I must say that your hardware and software provided is very good and I'm happy to use your equipment.

I needed to install windows server 2003 x 86-based PowerEdge T420 (serial number: B4 * 2). I am well aware that this server is not designed for this operating system. Unfortunately, available only on a server and the decision of the tasks it involves the use of a dedicated server windows 2003 x 86 (used for the automation of industry), that is to say without virtualization.

    I found these instructions here:
    en.Community.Dell.com/.../3846.How-to-install-Windows-2003-on-Dell-12th-Generation-PowerEdge-Servers
I have done it. However, after the installation of windows server 2003 x 86 me when with the logo displays BSOD (0x0000007b, ATA SATA mode is selected in the BIOS). Third party connection LiveUSB showed that shocks, unfortunately, are not created, even if I choose an option by pressing F8 before starting the system.

I think that I stocked up on a bad driver for H310 flash drive, but there are doubts about this.

USB stick with the driver for the appeared H310 tool

NOTE from the ADMIN: Broken link has been removed / replaced this post by Dell >; l = en & s = gen & driverid = R140774

    The driver downloaded from here:
    www.avagotech.com/.../MegaRAID-SAS-9240-8i
The MegaRAID SAS - XP x 86 signed, Version 4.32.0.32 driver name (in fact, I tried several different drivers, but for me it did not help).

But, because of this doubt, if I choose to boot from a LiveUSB and point the driver like on a flash drive by utility Dell USB key F6 Driver utility, the sections are connected and well I can handle. LiveUSB, by the way, is based on Server 2003.

Help me please. Apparently there is no relevant information, many files are not available, I've read these instructions here:

What are the steps I take to performance windows server 2003?
Thank you in advance, your team is great!

First of all, I strongly suggest that you buy a server used on eBay or your local classifieds.

Second, I suggest you that allows you to integrate the driver of your installation instead of the USB/F6 function media puff nLiteOS.com. (Integrate SP2 if not already included while you're there - the drivers might need SP2.)

Are you sure that your "industry automation' may not work on a virtual platform? Many will work.

  • T420: H310 PERC Setup driver during the installation of Windows 2008 R2 SP1

    Hello

I try to install the SP1 of Windows 2008 R1 on T420. However, it does not detect the disk and asks me to load the Setup disk.

Now, I downloaded the driver from: http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=1HHG8&fileId=3389750350&osCode=WS8R2&productCode=poweredge-t420&languageCode=EN&categoryId=SF

Put it on a key USB and then the wizard to detect the USB but then he said: 'no signed device drivers were found.

Reading carefully above the driver download page, they mentioned the installation instructions, it is shown how to load the driver during installation.

HOWEVER, the real problem lies here. These instructions are for a '. '. ZIP format"driver. Considering that, they provide only ".". EXE format"from the driver to download.

So, regardless of teaching the highest page download driver to load the driver during the installation does not work.

And I could not find where to download the '. '. ZIP format' driver.

Could you help me please. What I'm missing here?

    Thank you.

    You must use this driver:
    http://ftp.Dell.com/FOLDER01460337M/9/SAS-RAID_Driver_R2_4R5XT_A03_6.801.5.0_ZPE.exe

Run it to extract the content, then put the content on a USB flash drive to use during the installation.

I try to get updates from the HP website driver and UEFI. The problem is, however, that the button drivers disappears. • Issue of partitioning and drive recovery

My laptop has some performance issues, and general cleaning does not seem to do much, so I thought go through recovery to give the laptop a new start.

Currently, the only thing is that my DVD drive is not working, so backup stuff is clumsy, and is an understatement.

If I create a new partition of the HARD disk to store some files that I want to keep, the recovery process removes it?  Or it just get rid of the stuff on the C drive?

    Hello

So whatever, you should back up your files/data, not on the SAME physical HARD disk.

    Good luck.
