Issue of PNMicSrv.dll

I recently published a new server RDSH of Windows 2008R2 vWorkspace 8.0. After you have configured it, I couldn't connect via an RDS session. It would break have reported a problem with the audio redirector PNMicSrv.dll. I applied the patch 294101, but still had the problem.

Once a uninstall/reinstall of vWorkspace does not resolve the problem, I had a hunt through the registry and found the following value:

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\Winstations\RDP-Tcp

REG_SZ AudioEnumeratorDll PNMicSrv.dll

I uninstalled new vWorkspace and removed all the registry values vWorkspace, that I could find. I changed the value above back to the endpoint Audio MS rdpendp.dll DLL. After you have reinstalled again, the value of AudioEnumeratorDll remained as rdpendp.dll. I could then audio redirection and connection seems to work without any problems. I tried to change at the back of PNMicSrv.dll and the session crashed again on login.

I checked several other farms of vWorkspace work (7.6 & 8.0) and had all the value of AudioEnumeratorDll to rdpendp.dll.

This value must be set to PNMicSrv.dll or rdpendp.dll (which seems to be the only configuration to work)?

Assuming that it should be set to rdpendp.dll I am perplexed as to how he ended up with the other value. It wasn't something that I had changed it manually.

See you soon,.

Scott.

Morning Scott,

Thanks for the update.

I'm trying to figure out what the cause is configuration at random, but I have yet to find common cause.

As Chris mentioned, it's thanks to our Dev team now so I hope they know why the code has been added and will simply remove or put in a check that automatically corrects the value.

All the best, Andrew.

    Hello

    The auditor of system files, Sfc.exe utility, allows administrators to monitor all protected resources to check their version.

    Critical to restart Windows that do not match the expected version of Windows files can be replaced with the correct versions. If a file is repaired, the corresponding registry data are also repaired. Protected files is not crucial to restart Windows are not repaired.

    1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, press the Windows key + Q, type CMD in the search box and right click guestand then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.
    2. At the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:
      sfc/scannow

      The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft Versions.

  • How to call external functions without one. DLL (just using a.) H and. LIB file)?

    Hi all

    in fact, I am facing difficulties on how to get an external function is called in CVI (Version 2009).

    I was delivered with a. H file and a. LIB file to call an external function of my project CVI. The. H file looks like this:

    void exportedFunction(double *parameter);

    As far as I know, the external function was written with MS Visual C++ 6.

    So, I tried to link statically to the al extern like this function:

    -Add the. H file and the. LIB file to the CVI project

    -#include the. Folder H when I needed to call the external function

    -do the external function call

    During construction I get unresolved CVI external function call error, so this seems not work.

    I did some research autour and stood up with two possible problems. Maybe one of you can help me get a bit further and do work things out.

    (1) of the code of the 'real' function inside the DLL file that was not delivered to me. Or y at - it a way to get concrete results (calling external functions) with just one. H and a. LIB file (with none. Included DLL file)?

    (2) the external function does not export according to the rules of Style 'C '. The signature of the function in the. H file shows some things don't like

    extern "C" __declspec(dllexport) void __stdcall ...

    Or maybe it's a combination of these two issues (missing. DLL + bad export style function)?

    I guess I could get around the incorrect service export style when I managed to write a wrapper around the original function that actually uses Style C exporters. But I guess I need to the. DLL file for this test as well.

    Thank you very much for your answers.

    Best regards

    Bernd

    There is no need for the stuff of dllexport. There is also the option of a static library without any DLL.  But the "extern"C"' is essential, because it forces the C++ compiler, which was probably used to compile the library to use the C calling convention.

    If you are unable to ask the library vendor to provide a version that was compiled using C calling convention is the way to write a wrapper with VC ++ 6 around this library that functions using C calling convertion reexports. Something like

    extern 'C' myfunc1 type0 (type1 arg1,...) {

    Back to func1 (arg1,...);

    }

    for each function, you must use.

    BTW. "unresolved symbol" is the error message from the linker, you can expect if you try to bind the C code against a generation of library with the C++ calling convention.

  • My Windows XP has problems with shlwapi.dll

    My Windows XP has problems with shlwapi.dll and there are plenty of sites to download, but they all want money, why don't misrosoft not has an answer for this problem. When I try to update to internet explorer 6 to explore 8 then the error always pops up saying: you have a problem with shlawpi.dll and he can not continue... Very very frustrating.

    In general, it is not a good idea to download dll files.   See, for example, http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findtheproblem/qt/dll-download.htm

    If you explain more in detail what your problem is, including providing the full text of the error without paraphrase, it is likely that someone in the appropriate Microsoft Answers forum will be able to help.

    Because it seems that your problem is related to Internet Explorer, you are more likely to receive help if you post in the forum Internet Explorer, where there are already many threads dealing with issues of shlwapi.dll on IE: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/Search/Search?SearchTerm=shlwapi&CurrentScope.ForumName=ie&CurrentScope.Filter=&askingquestion=false

    If you look through some of these threads, you can find the answer to your question without further delay.  If not (or if you just want to watch), do not forget to include not only the text of the error message, but also the version of Windows XP, you have (Home, Pro, Media Center) and its service pack (start > run > winver > OK).

    And, based on this thread - with what seems to be your exact problem - also include responses to the following questions (there no answer, certainly because the OP has NOT provided to the request for information):

    1. what application or anti-virus security suite is installed and is your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?

    2. do you have a free trial Norton, or a test of free McAfee [a] come preinstalled on the computer when you bought it? (No matter if you have never used or activated).

  • IE8 does not close. Browser closed, but the poster Task Manager always seems as its opening. Whenever it opens a different istance of ie8 opens.

    When I run my browser (ie8) everything seems normal. I tried to close it with file, output but also by clicking on the red x or the other way give the same result. Manager tasks indicates that it can still even if it disappears from my office. When I open it again another instance of ie8 opens with the original still on Manager tasks. IE8 will continue to add to the list whenever I open and close the Task Manager. The only way to really close he must choose end task for each instance listed in Task Manager. It causes also the process runs my cp at 100% until I close it.

    I had exactly the same problem.  I went through the Add-ons in IE8 individually until I found the culprit.  I started with all Add - ons disabled and could close all Windows IE8 without blocking or question (note that all iexplore.exe processes [5] disappeared after the closure of the last window to IE8).   And then I activated the Add-ons in the groups.  After each group, I retested IE8 by opening 4 times, each with a different link, but the same 4 links every time.  If I was able to close all Windows IE8 4 without blocking and could see all 5 close processes after the closure of the last window to IE8, I proceeded to the next group of modules.  When I had activated almost all THE Add-ons, I triggered the blow that left every 5 iexplore.exe processes running, forcing me to complete the process on each... the Adobe PDF link Helper version 9.1.0.163 for the AcroIEHelperShim.dll file.  If I enabled all OTHER modules, but left Adobe PDF link Helper disabled... everything works normally again.

    I don't check no. updates were missing from my install Adobe Reader 9.  I also looked for Adobe.com anything regarding this issue or this DLL, but found nothing.

    I hope this helps others out there.

    Meanwhile, I have found a workaround. It seems that the problem is related to pnmicsrv.dll for vworkspace versions superior to 7,6 GA at least the question seemed to us after application of a patch for this version and it reappeared after upgrade to v8. In both cases I solved it replaces the pnmicsrv.dll file in our model with the dll version 7.6 of GA

  • Install WinXP on E325 after Ubuntu 11.10

    Hello

    After using the E325 with Ubuntu 11.10, I decided to go back to Windows. I try to install XP, I can upgrade to Windows 7 for free (as a student). So I created a USB bootable via "wintoflash":
    1 stage (installation in text mode) works so far.

    2 step (GUI mode Setup) does not work due to the infamous "hal.dll" file missing.

    None of the solutions worked for me so far (I tried to repair the boot.ini file, but it did not help). There are many other possible solutions on the internet (for example working with the Windows recovery - which I am unable to do).

    Everyone here has had a similar problem with its Thinkpad Edge? I guess that there is a problem with the partitions after Ubuntu, but I'm simply too inexperienced to find an appropriate solution.

    Any help is appreciated.

    :-)

    What is a "Vanilla" installation of Microsoft XP or one of the media of Lenovo?

    IIRC, XP from MS does not include the AHCI drivers.  If your HD SATA AHCI mode, which could explain things.  Try to go to BIOS and change SATA "compatible" or similar mode.

    The partitions on the disk should not make a difference.

    Maybe I am barking the wrong tree here.  How about you to know more about how it is a failure.

    [edit] Just read up on the issue of hal.dll missing.  My suggestion seems unrelated.  Sorry about that.  I leave you here for now since it applies in some cases, given the general nature of your thread title.  Good luck.

    What happens on computers of 32 and 64 bit.  The IE8 was captured by sheet of VMWare and the fix IEShims.dll is enabled.

    I tried the 'wow64 = 0' setting as well as the 'AltArchitectureShortcut = 0' in the file package.ini.  None of these settings seem to help.

    Any idea would be appreciated.

    Updated the original message to match the correct number. Post edited by: lcourson

    So after much troubleshooting, I have discovered that the file which was causing issues is jsproxy.dll.  This file has changed between Windows XP (which is where IE8 has been captured since) and Windows 7.  There is one missing method in version XP, InternetGetProxyInfoEx.  I just ran across this issue because we use a pac file for our proxy assignments.  This seems to be a similar problem for the IEShims.dll http://kb.vmware.com/kb/2038758fix.

    This fix should be the same that the IEShims hotfix, copy the version jsproxy.dll from a machine of IE8 windows 7 to the package and recompile.

    This put it out there in case someone else is going through this issue.

  • dll memory allocation issues

    Hello

    I recently had trouble with a program that calls a dll that I write in C. The dll uses LabView functions for the memory manager to allocate and free memory for a string of Labview in an ErrorCluster.

    I know there has been a lot of posts on this topic, but none seemed exactly applies to my case.

    At the start of the vi, everything works well in the beginning, only when it ends and restart, LabView crashes. It seems as if LabView crashes as soon as it tries to free memory (amended) of th Errorcluster.

    Starngely what it always crashes. The program could be running 2 - 3 times in a row, then fall for the third time.

    I managed to reproduce the error in a small program. VI and the dll code are attached.

    I hope that I did not lack a post that already addresses this problem.

    Thanks for your help/advice

    There is nothing intrinsically wrong about changing the string handles in a LabVIEW DLL, but you must confirm to the Protocol.

    There is a very likely potential problems with your C code.

    Yoou should really ensure good packing your definition of cluster of error with

    #pragma pack (1)

    #pragma pack()

    for 32-bit Windows. Otherwise you can get by with the alignment as LabVIEW for Windows problems use packing byte to its data structures, but your C compiler will probably try to align the code string and the error on the limits of 4 bytes, resulting in your DLL corrupt pointer real string handle bad.

    In addition to this your handling and the copy of the Stiring is VERY low and therefore prone to errors.

    Instead your SetError() function might look more like this:

    MgErr SetError(LVError *thisError, LVBoolean thisStatus, int32_t thisCode, char *thisSource)
    {
    int newsize = StrLen (thisSource);
    MgErr err;

    Set status and Code
    thisError-> status = thisStatus;
    thisError-> code = thisCode;

    If (thisError-> source)
    ERR = DSSetHandleSize (thisError-> source, newsize + sizeof (int32));
    on the other
    {
    thisError-> source = DSNewHClr (newsize + sizeof (int32));
    If (! thisError-> source)
    ERR = mFullErr;
    }
    If (! err)
    {
    MoveBlock (thisSource, LStrBuf (*(thisError->source)), newsize);
    LStrLen (*(thisError->source)) = newsize;
    }
    return err;
    }

    and it could be even simpler:

    MgErr SetError(LVError *thisError, LVBoolean thisStatus, int32_t thisCode, char *thisSource)
    {
    int newsize = StrLen (thisSource);
    MgErr err;

    Set status and Code
    thisError-> status = thisStatus;
    thisError-> code = thisCode;

    ERR = NumericArrayResize (uB, 1, & (thisError-> source), newsize);
    If (! err)
    {
    MoveBlock (thisSource, LStrBuf (*(thisError->source)), newsize);
    LStrLen (*(thisError->source)) = newsize;
    }
    return err;
    }
