Issues installing vSphere 5.5 U2 Web Client on Windows 7 Professional

It is a new installation of vSphere 5.5 U2.

Windows Server is not available. It is a Linux shop.

I use the vCenter Server Appliance 5.5 U2.

I want to install the vSphere Web Client on my work PC to Windows 7.

I downloaded VMware-VIMSetup-all-5.5.0-2183112-20140901-update02.iso for the Web Client vSphere.

  • Requires that the vSphere Client Web Single Sign-On
  • Single Sign - On has prerequisites
  • The sine qua non VMware-tcserver wants to be installed on Windows Server.

No there is no way to install the vSphere Web Client 5.5 U2 on Windows 7?

vCenter Server Appliance integrated Web Service client.

You simply access http://: 9443/vsphere-client using a web browser to access the webclient service.

A separate Web-client installation is not necessary.

I think that's what you are trying to reach.

  • Problem installing vSphere Web Client on Windows 8.1

    Hello

I want to install VMware vSphere Web Client on Windows 8.1 to connect to a server ESXi vShpere. But I get an error message stating "the product cannot be installed on Windows XP SP2 and higher.

Well WIndows 8.1 is "WIndows XP SP2 that precedes" but its obviously not recognized as such.

Question: does anyone have a solution to overcome this defective version of the installer check?

    cordially Edmond

Nothing in particular. Just thought while I reinstall my client pc to install the last managementoption of the ESXi server. And I thought that to be the webclient service.

Thanks for all the information. Super!

  • vSphere SSL for the Web Client (device vCenter) certificate error

    Hello

I installed ESXi 5.5 and right once I deployed the device vCenter. After the configuration and a few reboots, I navigates to the web client, and I get this error when I try to logon:

"Based on the current configuration, the authentication server's SSL certificate was not reliable."

I have until this google everything on the subject and outside tutorials on how to change certificates in the Windows version of vCenter, nothing on the device of vCenter. I was happy when I found the 'Certificate regeneration enabled' checkbox, but that did not help either. I can test successfully SSO settings in the control panel of vCenter.

    Everyone please?

Edit: I should also mention that I am not able to connect to vCenter with the vSphere client. I get the "Cannot complete the connection by incorrect username or password". I use [email protected] as user name.

  • Using Cisco VPN Client in Windows 7 Professional 64 bit

    Hi all!
I need to use Cisco VPN Client to connect to my server in the company, because my company uses lotus notes Server, I have to connect Cisco VPN to access e-mail. But now my windows version is Windows 7 Pro 64 bits that cannot directly install this application, I already installed XP Mode and creatde shortcut to Windows 7, I plugged the Cisco VPN to my Cisco VPN server, but I can not access the server, Pls help me and show me how to solve this problem

Open the XP VM itself, do not use the shortcut that was published in
the W7 boot menu. You need to install Outlook / your email client
Inside the virtual machine, as well as on the side of W7. You can point to the same
PST files if you have local PST files, but you just can't open them in
at the same time of W7 and XP VM.

There is no way to bridge using the shortcut of publishing app

Some people have reported success with the third party IPSec
replacements as customer universal shrew or the NCP. Your IT Department.
would like to know if these are supported

  • How can I install a DeskJet F4580 on a PC running Windows XP Professional x 64?

I can't locate the so-called suitable driver for my OpSys in order to operate the printer that recently gave me.

    Hello GrayWolf38,

    • There is no software full featured for this printer for Win XP, 64-bit.
    • But you can try the below steps that should at least allow you to print...

1 > make sure that the pritner is connected to the computer.

    2 > click on START > Control Panel > printers & faxes > add a printer > add a local printer >

3 > select "Use existing Port" then Virtual USB from the menu drop down.

4 > click NEXT, in the manufacture of the list, select HP / Hewlett-packard in the pane right, select Deskjet 990c and finish the wizard

Now try to print, it should work.

    Kind regards

  • VCenter 5.5 new install - VCenter not no projection in the Web Client

    Hello

Today, I installed a new simple installation of 5.5 VCenter Server with all the parts.  I can access the web client very well and it will also authenticate with SSO (even if I don't allow my username anywhere, maybe I'm a domain administrator it allows this?).  Anyway I digress, when registering in the web client VCenter County shows 0 and I am obviously unable to perform all tasks at all.

Of course, my link between the VCenter server and Webclient went wrong somewhere and I am struggling to see how to solve this problem.  From my research in 5.5 that it should automatically just connect and you don't need to 'register' that we had to do with older versions.

    Any help appreciated.

    Thank you

    Paul

    Hello

As described in this KB KB VMware: vSphere installation 5.5 Web Client on a Microsoft Windows platform

Among the vSphere post installation steps Web Client adds SSO identity Source

Log in to the Web Client vSphere and authenticate using the [email protected] domain to check that the SSO and vSphere Client Web work correctly.

You can also add an external identity source, such as Open LDAP and Active Directory before deploying the server vCenter Server and inventory Services.

For more information on the different types of Sources of identity for vSphere 5.5, see him add a vCenter Single Sign-On identity Source section of the Guide of installation and Installation of vSphere.

You connect by using the domain ([email protected]) account?

Have you tried to connect with username [email protected]?

According to the guidelines of vSphere vSphere 5.5 Documentation Center Documentation

When an identity source is added, all users can be authenticated but have access no. authorization.

If you open a session by using the domain account (domain administrators) you might be able to connect, but cannot perform all the tasks that the user is to have access permissions.

Then you can try to login with the username [email protected] first, then assign permission to your domain account.

The steps to add the UNIQUE identity Source Authentication (if the ad has not been added) and assign permissions (for the domain account) are described in vSphere Documentation here:

vSphere 5.5 Documentation - add a vCenter Single Sign-On identity Source

VSphere 5.5 Documentation Centre - assign permissions in the Web Client vSphere

  • Cannot install service pack 4 Windows on Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2

I have recently installed windows service pack 3 and now when I try to install service pack 4, I get this
    Error installing Service Pack 4:
The version of windows that you are trying to install does not match the update you are trying to install
    My Info to the computer:
Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2
    Toshiba
    Tecra
    Intel (R) Celeron (R) M
    processor 1.50 G

No, it means that you are misunderstand any error message you see.  There is no service pack 4 for Windows XP.  All reputable antivirus meant for Windows XP software will install on Windows XP service pack 3.  If you have problems to install antivirus software, your computer may already be infected.

You must install one antivirus resident program.  Do not install the Avast and AVG; Choose a.  You can have other anti-malware of on demand software.  The best of them is MalwareBytes AntiMalware (free).

If you would like more information, please proceed as follows:

1 display the full text, without paraphrasing, of any error message you get when you try to install a software of your choice.

    2. after the URL (link) of the Web site from which you downloaded the antivirus installation package.

    3. click on start, then run, then type the following command in the "Open" box and click OK

    Msinfo32.exe

When the windows of Information System fills, click on edit, and then click Select all. Click on edit, then click on copy.  Then paste (CTRL + V), the copied data in your response here.

  • vSphere 6 Web Client - VM console mouse issues

    Fresh VSphere 6 install:

vCenter device 6.0 2559267 (tiny config, the integrated Setup)

    ESXi 6.0 2494585 and 2615704 (patch applied 201504001)

Client computer (admin): Win2008R2 server with or without SP1, Chrome 41, 37 of Firefox, IE 11, Adobe Flash Player and 15.0 17.0.

Tried all possible combinations with the latter (see above), each time the same symptoms.

Affected by issues with mouse on consoles Web Client VM, vSphere unaffected client (c#):

    (1) when you open a console to a computer virtual where VMTools are not installed, _movements_ of mouse are not transferred to VM, clicks are however, entered at the keyboard is forwarded / work.

    (2) in the case of installed VMTools, it gets a little better, but still problematic

-Whenever a virtual machine console opens upward, if the vSphere Client Web browser window has been enlarged, the new window / tab with the console gets maximized as well and "tends" VMs Office - looks makes each pixel bigger. When the browser with the console window is restored down, the Office of VMs in it gets "resized" to fit the window.

-Movements of the mouse seem to work (with installed VMTools), however only in the region which is the system VMs "native, not resized, non-tendu-pixel" resolution - f.x. so my WinVM has a screen resolution of 800 x 600, I launch a console in the Web Client and it is open in a window size 1600 x 1200, visually each pixel gets "stretched" and 4 times higher in the console , however the mice only moves in superior left quarter of desktop VMs, which seems to be linked to "native VMs not resized resolution." Once I have restore to the bottom of the browser window with size equal to or less than VMs console "native resolution", mouse movements operate in all areas of office in the console.

Does not sound like a trivial thing to solve at first glance, but maybe someone has encountered a parameter that would disable the stretching of VMs Desktop in the Web Client Console? This would fit perfectly as a workaround.

Any other ideas / suggestions are welcome.

    Thanks in advance!

VMware have an article now for the same problem: the mouse pointer does not work in the console of virtual machine VMware vSphere Client HTML5 Web (2116851)

Three solutions of workarounds currently exist:

    * Use VMware Remote Console.

    * Access the console of the virtual machine of VMware vSphere Client.

    * Install VMware Tools in the virtual machine and to increase the resolution of the screen until the mouse pointer has a full range of motion.
