  Hello funny177, if you are using Windows 7 and maybe even Vista, you can go to the Control Panel, programs and features, look in the upper left corner of the screen and click on View Installed Updates.

  You will see a window that shows all the updates that have been added to your system. Just look for Internet Explorer 9, right-click on it and select uninstall.

  Internet Explorer 9 will be uninstalled and Internet Explorer 8 will be automatically reinstalled as default browser.

  You can check the updates for Internet Explorer 8, and will often remind you to try Internet Explorer 9.

• EA3500 issues related to Internet wireless

  We had trouble with our EA3500.  I spoke with tech support but could not afford it, so they sent me here.

  Our EA3500 works well, sometimes, not others.  It seems that there is a problem with the wireless internet signal.  For example, I can be reviewed online very well when I am connected to a LAN, but all of a sudden, internet wireless will cease to function without apparent reason, even if connected wireless devices must complete signals.  When this happens, all connected in LAN devices still work while those connected wireless are not.

  Until I finished the call with the Linksys tech support, they mentioned that I might need to update my firmware.  This could be the case.  I'm on a macbook pro 2007 at this time, and update Linksys program comes to about 88% complete and then informs me that the update failed.  Don't know what that means.

  Where should I go from here?  Any help would be appreciated.  I must also mention that we have a RE1000 about 50 feet away from the router, and I'm not sure if that plays in this.

  Yesterday, I bought my first BB and I don't really like it. However, I bought it because the phone contract that I bought it, the Motorola Dext was horrible, even after a replacement.

  Unfortunately I do not have a packet of BB, but I have to use the mail and the internet. I use the browser 'Hotspot' and have no other options of browsers in use. This means that I can't even connect to the internet.

  -J' have unlimited internet on my package

  -I don't have a lot of BB

  Can someone tell me what I need to do?

  You will not be able to get the email, BlackBerry BBMaps, BBMessenger, Facebook and Twitter for BlackBerry applications and many others.

  You will be able to use only the Hotspot browser and some other third-party applications such as Pandora radio.

  You need the data Plan BlackBerry, not a bunch of generic data.

• Basic functions and issues related to the Internet after virus removal

  I hope someone can help with my daughter's laptop.  I think this is the right forum.

  Back in March she got a rogue virus on his laptop computer. It has been removed successfully, but the programs on his personal user account have still some problems. She tries to open any program by double-clicking its icon, a screen will appear asking you to choose a program from a list to open it with. If instead, she clicks on the icon of the program and chooses to start, it opens fine (but is very painful to have to do so every time). In addition, some basic on this user account functions do not work (it does not receive some pop-up windows to the top when it should, the scroll bar on its mouse pad no longer works, programs configured to start at startup must be started manually, etc.). Finally, after being and deletion of another rogue virus a few weeks ago, the internet on his personal user account stopped working, only display a "Cannot display the Web page" page even if network connections show that it is connected to the internet. NOTE: None of these problems exist on the administrator account or if she is invited to log on as an administrator.

  A gifted friend computer has helped to ensure that the computer is free of any virus or malware but was not able to understand how to fix this user account.  It was suggested to delete this account and create a new user, but she doesn't want to have to do that, if possible, since she spent a lot of time customizing.

  The laptop is a HP Touchsmart PC with Windows Vista Edition Home Premium (x 64), AMD Turion X 2 Dual - Core Mobile RM-75.

• Degradation of internet WRT110

  I have a PC and a laptop (the two valleys on Vista).  The PC is connected to to the WRT110 and the laptop is wireless.  Provider is Time Warner (Kansas City).  When I do a speed test on computers (through the router), it is generally between 3.5 and 5.0.  I called Time Warner and at the suggestion of the technology on the phone, I unplugged the connection of the cable to the router and directly to the PC.  When I ran the same test of speed, she came significantly closer to the announced 7 MB.  He did not go with the laptop, but guess I would get the same results.

  It's my first router wireless, so my question is... is this normal for a router to degrade an internet connection so significantly?  I expect that the mobile wireless can be a bit slow, but I was stunned (and frankly, quite irritated) that the PC wired directly to the router is affected.  Any ideas?  Thank you!  Jason

  You won't get the same exact speed of the router... that you are getting the modem because the router is somehow a firewall.

  Although try the following settings on the router...

  -Change the MTU to 1300.

  -Change the band Radio of Standard - 20 MHz and the Standard 11 - 2, 462 GHz channel.

  -Uncheck the box filter anonymous Internet requests on the Security tab.

  -The tab settings of Advance Wireless... Change the interval of tag to 75.

  Keep updated on the router firmware. You can download the latest firmware from www.linksys.com/downloads.On configuration page, click on the Administration tab, update the firmware.

• Missing related to Internet/network drivers for HP Pavilion dv7-6b78us

  Hi all!

  A friend of mine gave me his old laptop (thank God!) and it is perfect in every way, except that it is missing some very important drivers.

  I downloaded both packages different pilot off-site Support for the HP driver. driver Broadcom Wireless LAN and Wireless drivers for Microsoft Windows Intel. Nor a fixed my connectivity problems.

  What do I need download and install to solve these problems? I've attached screenshots of the hardware ID for my missing drivers.

  

  Some of these drivers are not part of internet/connectivity, but if you guys could help with those, too... I would be eternally grateful!

  Trying to play PC games recently, I had a few problems. Yesterday, I solved a problem of RAM where it says 16 GB installed but 3.46 GB usable by using msconfig. That has been corrected (apparently) However most of my games just get past title screens and even when they do they are slow as * / crash most of the time: nothing has changed.

  I have a GTX 770 so it is a recent issue, because he was working fine until last week. Driver is up-to-date as with all updated regularly through steam/uplay games. One glaring problem I see maybe I have 9 GB on Windows (c) to the left, but I really would not have thought that to be a problem.

  Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

• Firewall issue 314 and Internet Explorer

  I had problems to use my internet browsers from 2 days.  First, it started with Firefox AND Internet Explorer does not.  It would come just to the top with a page saying "connection timed out" so that my internet and router are both operating correctly.  My roommate's computer connects fine and both of our phones. I have internet hy plugged directly into the computer, but also a WiFi connection that both said were connected. When I went to diagnose the problem through the computer, he told me '314 firewall problem' but didn't tell me how to fix it or provide solutions outside the base "call someone else" which tends to be the solution to all my problems windows.  I did a bit of reading with my phone's internet and someone suggested to use CCleaner.  I have Firefox running again.  However, none of my games on the internet will connect and Internet explorer is still having the same problem.  I tried unplugging everything and restarting all 4 or 5 times.  I tried to open port 80.  None of this does not work so far.

  I have a series under Windows 7 Home Premium HP p6000 office.  Any help would be great (and I am not a geek at ALL, so simplified responses are greatly appreciated!) Thank you.

  I opened Internet Explorer go to tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab > then clicked on the "Reset" touch everything downstairs and it completely resets the browser to its origin (removal of passwords and personal settings) settings.  Then I rebooted it and it loads the homepage! It's a relief that this pain in the thigh is over.

  I have the Pearl 8110 and am currently do not pay for the Blackberry internet service, or my cell phone provider.  My question is, if I have my BB connected to my laptop (which is connected to the Linsys wireless high-speed internet), is there a way I can get online with my BB via my laptop?

  There is no way to connect your BB to the internet via your laptop...  You can, however, download things on your computer and transfer them to your BB using the Blackberry Desktop software.

  If you want to use positional notation, then you can only omit parameters by default when they are at the end of the parameter list. In your case, this would mean

  I have a bunch of folders and subfolders, I created for various projects, but I don't always want to see them. (that is, I want to "collapse", while most of the time - I just see the Inbox, sent, spam and trash folders.)

  The only option I see is the equivalent of a power switch - that is to say, file view/page/component layout, or no record.

  If you uncheck the folders pane, you lose the Inbox, sent, spam and trash folders.

  If you check the option part of file, regain you your visibility of the Inbox, sent, junk mail and folders trash... but you also see the bunch of files again.

  Is there an option in-between - where I can see (again) the Inbox, sent, junk, and trash folders - but only see a collapse (as in 1 folder that says something like "folders") - without having to create such a file and paste the slew of my other folders in the folder manually created?

  The only suggestion that I would have to choose the name of the account, not the Inbox but the name of the main account.
  Right-click on the account name, and then select new folder.
  Name the project or something that makes sense to you.
  Now right-click in project and select new subfolder.
  The name of the subfolder.
  Repeat if necessary.
  There will be a pointer next to the projects folder where you can expand or collapse the tree of project files.
  This will only add an extra folder, projects, when the project tree is reduced.
