iTunes 10 Windows will not let me my backup of archives

While trying to archive the backup copy of my iPhone to iTunes in Windows 10, iTunes won't let me check when I followed the instructions say right click on the backup file in the preferences > devices.  Help!

This facility is available on Mac. You can do a manual to copy the backup set in C:\Users\ < user > \AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup and give it a file name ending in - yyyymmdd-hhmmss but iTunes doesn't show all with a different name in the backup list, probably if one is the active backup for a device time update on the next backup.

I'm trying to set up my fax machine!  My windows fax component service won't let me add says insert xp disc which I did not and said look these files H:\WXHOEM\i386. Please help me

Since we don't know anything about your system, I'll give you some instructions which will work for XP Service Pack 3.

To install the fax of XP with no CD Service, download the version of Service Pack 3 to XPFax.zip since my SkyDrive and extract/unzip the file in a folder on your desktop or somewhere on your system to a folder name, you can remember (there are 35 files in zip archive).

During the installation of the XP Fax Services and it asks you your installation CD, change the location of the file to point to the folder where the 35 files on your system.  Whenever the installation asks you for a file on your CD, change the location to look in the folder XPFax, until the installation is complete.

    Restart and test.

Here's how to get the file XPFax.zip from my SkyDrive:

I downloaded a copy of XP Pro SP3 files you need on my SkyDrive (everyone has a SkyDrive for file sharing).

Here is the link to my SkyDrive and you can get the file you need here:

    http://CID-6a7e789cab1d6f39.SkyDrive.live.com/redir.aspx?RESID=6A7E789CAB1D6F39! 311

When you see the files available for download, you will not see the file extension (.exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip etc), but when download you them they will have the right extension (most of the time).

When you download the file (especially if you use Internet Explorer), when you get a chance to save the file, it cannot save the file with an extension (such as .exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc) then you will need to manually add the extension appropriate to the file when you download the file before you save it.

You can download the file without the extension, and then rename the file to add the appropriate extension.  You don't want to use a file called XPFax when the name of the file should really be called XPFax.zip (if the downloaded file has no extension you will need to change the name of the file to add the appropriate extension to run).

  • I just bought a HP Win 7 (unfortunately) workstation running. My previous computer ran HP XP. Windows will not let me install my fonts.

Don't get me wrong, the HP workstation is great, it's Windows, I just can't stand.

I tried to double click on the fonts to install and Windows returns an error message. I tried dragging the fonts in Windows 7 fonts folder and it gives me an error message. I downloaded AFM to PFM because Windows says I need the PFM files, but when I run the AFM to PFM, it returns the message that the PFM files are already there.

I bought a laptop Sony a couple of years ago with Vista and fell on this problem. I despised Vista so I sold the Sony and remained with XP on my HP Workstation. In fact, I was so p - o'ed on Vista, I went out and bought a Mac Pro and Mac Book Pro, as I intend to dump Windows altogether. Unfortunately, the vast majority of my work required of Windows programs.

Given that, I decided to go for the new HP workstation because I had heard horror stories less on Win 7. I was then going to sell both of my Macs.

Unfortunately, it was a BIG mistake because now I'm stuck with a work station $3,400 that I can't use to work on my documents InDesign, Illustrator and Word that have all of the fonts I was running XP (and which run WITHOUT problem on my Mac).

It is a problem of Windows, and when I tried to contact MS supports, I was directed to HP since Win 7 is pre-installed on my workstation.

I just got the phone with HP Technology Support and they say they can't help because even if it IS a WINDOWS PROBLEM, they do not support software related issues.

I even tried to copy the font files to the Directory Windows on my old PC, nothing helps.

I'm willing to put this thing on eBay so I can't empty MS FOR GOOD!

Any help would be LARGELY APPRECIATED1

    Hi AndrewHerman,

  • Windows will not let me connect on Skype

    Hey guys,.

I bought a new computer from Windows 8 nice a few months ago and also installed Skype.

I had a Skype account for a long time and I have used many.

Until a few weeks ago, I couldn't get into Skype anymore.

If I click on Skype icon on my screen, it will open, but then immediately he asks for my password and asks me to connect with my microsoft account.

But I just want to connect with my Skype account, because I am not fond of linking all your accounts to another, but also why there are different programs.

So there is a button that says: log each application separately.

But that does no good because I can not yet connect here with my Skype account.

Can someone tell me how I can connect with my SKYPE account.

I'm a little frustrated here and could use help

    Thank you

    Nike

In order to be able to connect with your Skype account, you must first install the desktop version of Skype. This is the same version that will launch on all previous Windows systems (XP, Vista, 7).

The currently most recent Skype 6.14.0.104 desktop version can be installed using the msi installer:

  • HP Deskjet 3520: 10 Windows will not let me block the update "ghost".

I am running in the same question as 'has no updates nightly for Hewlett Packard Imaging NULL print HP Photosmart 6520 series' and 'I can't update HP Imaging Null Point HP Desktop 3520 on computer laptop Window 7 error 80070490 o/s", when I run windows updates I get the message

"He had problems installing the updates, but we will try again later. "If you keep seeing this and you want to perform an Internet search or contact support for further information, this can help: Hewlett-Packard - imagery - print Null - series HP Deskjet 3520 - error 08024200 b ×".

The solution to both of these post say is to disable the update is not tried to be applied, however, I use Windows 10 and it seems to be an option to ignore an update than previous versions of windows.

What are 10 Windows users supposed to do when they are run this problem?

    Hello:

As you know, Windows 10 has made it impossible to hide or ignore updates (or so it seems).

I found this tool from Microsoft that allows you to hide updates that don't work, or mess up your PC if they work, (as a synaptics touchpad update has done on my laptop).

    https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/KB/3073930

I saved this tool on my PC for use in the future if necessary.

  • I have XP and that you want to upgrade to XP Pro, but Windows will not let me.

My office recently crashed and I replaced the windows XP home that came on the machine.  I also have a copy of XP Pro upgrade that I want to install because pro allows me to office remote host and does not House.  These are both legally purchased copies.  When I try to upgrade to pro it won't let me and warned me that the original desktop version is newer than the upgrade.  I don't like the age I want the features I paid for the upgrade.

    All solutions?

    1. determine what service pack is now installed (right click on desktop and select properties).  You must have service pack 3, but if you have recently reinstalled Windows XP Home Edition, you may have neglected to update at this point.

    2. either consider that if you have a CD for an earlier version of Windows (98, Me, 2000), you can do a "clean install" of XP Pro by booting from the CD-ROM to upgrade XP Pro and then insert the qualifying product CD when asked.

    3. If you want to 'upgrade' to protect the applications and data already installed on XP Home, first back up your data (just in case).  As indicated in the error message, your upgrade installation CD must be equal or superior to your current installation of XP Home service pack level.  Compare the service pack level of your installation of XP Home (see 1 above) and the level of service pack of your XP Pro installation CD.  Then create a CD slipstreamed that combines the real CD XP Pro you have with the correct service pack.  There are many instructions for this on the web.  See http://lmgtfy.com/?q=slipstream+xp

I suggest that you use nLite (see the first hit in Google search above).

If your XP CD Pro has NO service pack, you must first integrate the SP2 and then sp3 wake in this.

If your CD of XP Pro at service pack 1 or 2, you can integrate service pack 3 (for example, you can go from 1 to 3 without add 2).

Download the file from the service pack 3 Setup here--> http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=24

If necessary, download the file from the service pack 2 installer here--> http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=28

  • 10 Windows will not let me restore Skype :/ Pls help

Hi, I have been a user of Skype for a good 3 or 4 years now with no problems whatsoever. Since I've upgraded to Windows 10 I have had problems minors until "It" happened. I tried everything I knew, but it's just a problem with windows itself because sometimes my messages of steam do the same thing but I found a solution. for Skype, however it is a whole new ball game. I already opened it, im signed in, I get notifications and calls and whatnot, but I can't open the window. I try to restart my computer, I tried to install the latest version of Skype, I tried to leave Skype and open as administrator, yet I can't seem to view the Skype window. Help would be very appreciated. Thank you!

After I've upgraded to pro 8.1 windows 64 bit 64-bit windows 8 (preinstalled), I thought that windows will not let me install the chipset drivers (downloaded from "toshiba site" for windows 8.1 pro 64-bit), but they stay with windows drivers installed for them.
The Device Manager displays all installed and properly using. In addition, during the implementation was executed to install the chipset driver, he skipped most of them, to install a missing driver only (unfortunately have not kept any screen to show). I tried to install using the Device Manager (automatic search or manually navigating the computer files downloaded from the site), but it keeps saying that the drivers are up-to-date (drivers with the version from 2006, when later seen on the site are 2014).
