iTunes doesn't recognize iPhone 5s

For some strange reason, iTunes does not recognize my iPhone 5s unit when connected by USB. When plugged in, iTunes does not automatically opens upward as it usually has in the past. I tried to reinstall iTunes and follow the steps on the Apple Support page, but nothing has worked. My iTunes is running the most recent version until May 27, 2016. How can I get my iTunes to recognize my device again?

iOS9 on a mobile device requires iTunes 12.3 or higher, which in turn requires a computer running OSX 10.8.5 or higher.  Update of the system only checks the updates for the current version of the system you run, but that itself can be updated.  It may or may not be possible to upgrade your computer to the system requirements. Find your computer on the web site of http://www.everymac.com model and near the bottom of the specification of the system section, he will tell what versions of the operating system, it is able to run. If you can not run a newer system, you will not be able to synchronize this phone to your current computer if it can run 10.8.5 or higher, you can either buy a download for Apple OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion code online, or you can try to install the free El Capitan OSX 10.11.  El Capitan can run slower on older machines and require the additional purchase of RAM.  Making a big jump in versions of system is also more likely to affect the old software.

  • iTunes doesn't recognize or not restore iphone 5s

Monday last iTunes stopped recognizing my iPhone 5 s when I plug it to my PC. This also means that it doesn't connect on wifi for my iPad to use hand-off.

I tried to reinstall iTunes and update iTunes and the phone. I also tried to restore the phone but iTunes doesn't recognize even in recovery mode. I tried to reset the network settings and nothing has worked.

I don't want to take it to my local dealer because one of the guys he has messed up my old iPhone 5 and I configured on the wrong carrier after giving me 2 messed up phones under warranty.

Erase all content and settings to fix this or am I just stuck with a phone that does not work with my other devices?

  • I have reset the driver on my computer and now Itunes doesn't recognize my ipod touch.

I had to reset the apple for my device driver because my file exploror wouldn't show my Ipod in the list of devices connected to my computer. Now when I plug in my Ipod and open itunes it will not show my ipod connected. I tried everything I have seen in these fourms but I can't get itunes to recognize my device. All that happens when I plug it, is I have the guest "allow or disallow" instead of the "confidence to this computer? command prompt. What did I do wrong.

Just how you "reset the apple for my device driver?

  • iTunes does not recognize the ripped CD

I recently had to wipe the hard drive of my iMac and start over. All back to normal. However, now iTunes doesn't recognize all ripped CDs, I did on this same computer with iTunes. I have a two compilations of commercial CD as well as those made in digitized LPs. All content - names of tracks, lengths, album art - was read by iTunes before 'erased '. Now: nothing. I tried to uninstall iTunes 11 12 and reinstalling, nothing. In addition, I can't find any other program that can read data from the CD. What can I do to import these CDs and find their metadata?

Since your post I understand these were compilation CD or CD of digitized LPs all the facts and burned by you.  iTunes will remember the content of the CD on the computer that made the combustion. This information is not actually on the CD (unless you said iTunes to save it as CD-text format which iTunes itself cannot read directly).  This registers in a special folder on the computer that has apparently lost when wipe you your drive.  For commercial CD iTunes uses the Gracenote database to assign information of CD based on the characteristic footprint track of the CD, but your being elements, will not be in the Gracenote database (not even your LPs which must be the time right as the CD version).

You have backups of your original disc?

    Hi BrittLeighCass,

I understand that you are not able to get iTunes to recognize your iPhone, now that you have updated your iPhone to iOS 10. That you have described here some quite impressive troubleshooting in-depth. Fortunately, however, it may well be a few additional things to try in this situation.

First of all, let's make sure that iTunes is completely up to date: iTunes - download iTunes

If the update to iTunes is not your iPhone appears, see if there are all the steps described in the article below that you do not have covered still.

  • iTunes does not recognize any of my iPhones (Windows 10)

I've recently updated iTunes 12.4 and now my iPhone 5s, and my iPhone 4 are not recognized by iTunes. They appear as 'Apple iPhone' in my file Explorer, but are not accessible via iTunes or iFunBox. I tried all the options in the management of the link here:

If iTunes does not recognize your iPhone, iPad or iPod - Apple Support

    I removed the lockdown folder.

    I tried several cables.

When I go into Device Manager, there is no "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver" under "In Bus USB controllers", but there is 'Apple iPhone' under 'portable '. If you're looking for an update to this pilot says 'Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up-to-date' "MTP USB device".

More interesting still, I went down to iTunes 12.1.3, thinking that would take me back to a working version, but in fact it STILL does not recognize my phone(s)!

    What the hell is happening?

If your iOS device does not appear in iTunes, try the following:

    1. Open Control Panel > Device Manager
    2. Plug in your device
    3. Locate Bus USB Controllers > Apple Mobile Device USB Driver.
It is also possible that the device may appear under imaging devices, portable devices or other devices or as a device USB of MTB.
    4. Right-click and select software update of the driver...
    5. Click Browse my computer for driver software
    6. Go to C:\Program Files\Common Apple Mobile Device Support\Drivers or
      C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
    7. Click on let me pick from a list of drivers for devices on my computer
    8. Click on Apple Mobile Device USB Driver
    9. Click Next, then close and exit the Device Manager

To step 3 above, open the Device Manager. Expand one of the articles that are listed.

    • USB Bus controllers
    • Imaging devices
    • Portable devices
    • Other devices

Plug in the appliance. You should hear the telltale Windows sound device connection and a Division must acquire a new entry. This should be your device. It cannot be labelled properly at this point. If you do not hear a suspicious noise cable damaged.

Or try If iTunes does not your iPad, iPhone or iPod - Apple Support

If not try a complete tear down and rebuild iTunes in accordance with the resolution of the problems with iTunes for Windows updates.

Or try to go back to the last version of iTunes that has worked for you. See the programs installation of iTunes to download links. If you roll back to 12.4.0.119 to 12.3.3.17 or 12.3.2.35, for example, then you will also need restore the database of the library in the manner described in the empty/corrupted after upgrade/crash iTunes library. The tip makes suggestions to reintroduce recent purchases, so at worst, you lose a few meters or a newly created playlist.

  • iTunes does not recognize my iPhone on my HP Pavilion Windows 10 5s, so cannot sync the phone, which has the latest operating system running

iTunes does not recognize my iPhone on my HP Pavilion Windows 10 5s, so cannot sync the phone running. I downloaded the latest OS for the phone and the latest version of iTunes on my PC and have tried all USB ports several times. I also reinstalled drivers USB to the PC.  The phone is recognized on the computer of a friend under Win 7. All shows when I plug it on mine is a page showing the 'Apple iPhone' folder display of storage internal (2.18 GB free of 14.7 GB). Troubleshooting in devices and printers, where the phone displays as "Not specified Apple iPhone" generates a message saying that "Apple iPhone is an older USB device and may not work with USB 3.0 and plug it into a USB 2.0 port." But when I use USB 2.0 (I tried several times using each of the three USB ports on my PC), troubleshooting the error message says "Apple iPhone won't work correctly with USB 3.0." This seems to be a recent problem, since in March 2016, I could spend a few songs from my PC to my phone using iTunes.

I wish I had some ideas of people who have experienced this problem, I find to be a more frustrating one.

Well, you aren't the only one. This just freakin happened to me. I spent the last three hours with apple and Windows supports. Now I'm reinstalling Windows 10 by last resort of Windows support councils. I got the same message USB. In iTunes, under devices something removed my 5s and the iPad. But it remains 6 s wife. I tried my computers 2-(SS) 3.0 ports and 1 port 2.0 ordinary. I tried all four thinners cables I have. I will let you know the result of the Windows reinstall.
