J5 create ethernet & usb 3.0 hub problem - windows 7 Home premium medion 17 "laptop 2011 vintage

After the stuffing until the installation of this device by NOT following the instructions to the letter, my 3 USB ports only two have been disabled. Even after a clean install of Windows 7, my two 3 USB ports only have the power (can be used to charge devices, etc.), but no capacity USB (USB 2 or 3). Device Manager shows no problems with the USB system devices.

Thank you

I have the combination above and that you have read some of the horror stories on this subject.  I never implemented or used Skype but now I'd like to.  I am not technically savvy and won't not tinkering with uninstall, reinstall etc.  Shouldn't. !!  These things are meant to improve our lives.  My question is - this has been fixed?  I think I got all the updates of windows, since I bought this system in July 2012.   Skype is now just a point that I did not do anything with.  And maybe don't want to.

Skype version 5.x must be updated.  The current version is 6.1.  If you want it to run on win 7 (or win 8), you need the most recent version.

This is a fairly simple installation and should not hurt anything.

My friend gave a laptop computer whose OS is Windows Vista Home Basic Edition.  I format the computer and install a Windows Vista Home Premium I have for my desktop computer.  Now, I have a problem with a product key.  When I start the laptop, it indicates a product key requirement.  I enter my desktop OS product key, but I still see the declaration valid product key.  My question is this.  If I buy the upgrade to Windows 7, the operating system will work in the laptop even if she has a problem with the product key.  If I buy Windows 7 upgrade, there will be no problem with the product key?  Or do I have to buy a new Windows Vista Home Premium for the laptop?  Or if you know anywhere I can buy a product key for Windows Vista with a reasonable price?  Thank you

Check if the same works in different USB Ports, in Device Manager if there are any unknown devices or try to uninstal and reinstall USB Root hub, that should help you. Let know if you have the same problem. You can also check with all other USB devices if works.

  • Windows Vista Home Premium - problem "task manager has been disabled by your administrator".

    Nice day

I had problems with my task manager (I use the operating system "Windows Vista Home Premium"). Evertime I try to access the program, he returns with "task manager has been disabled by your administrator". I used different tools to remove malware and got rid of a lot of problems but still can not in Task Manager.

I created a new user with administrator account and logged on it and had no problem until my 'Task Manager' program open, but when I went back to my origional administrator account the same problem occurred.

Why can I get to "Task Manager" in my new account administrator and not the former?
I still have malware in the old account or do I go into my registry and restore something?

I am at a loss, and any help would be appreciated. I'm worried that I can always have some kind of malware that prevents me to access my task manager in my old account.

Please give step by step instructions because I am not computer savvy computer even when it comes to fixing the problems of this kind.

    Thanks in advance.

  • I have problems keeping records and files of the administrator and the user separate in my laptop (HP Pavilion dv6700) under Windows Vista Home Premium.

I have problems separating records and files of the administrator and the user. My computer is a laptop (HP Pavilion dv6700), used as a home computer only by myself, I like to keep the two distinct roles, but am unable to as Vista seems to be considered as one and the same. This scenario has arisen as follows:

Initially, when I bought the laptop - approx. 18 months back - Windows Vista Home Premium was preinstalled, with the name 'Administrator' as an administrator. To customize the operating system and to use safely, I installed a user 'Renault', as a Standard account user.

After awhile, I changed the name of the Director of "Renault", for reasons I have can not remember now. This caused Vista to combine folders and files of the two "users" in one, I found difficult to deal with, that I could not operate my laptop as just a Standard user, but is still considered the "administrator." On the one hand, this greatly increased spam in my email accounts. So I tried to reset the name of the administrator as 'Administrator' itself and keep my user name as "Renault", as originally the case.  But Vista me has failed to create a new user under the name "Administrator". So I created a new user under the name "System administrator", with administrative privileges. This has been accepted by Vista.

But I forgot to change the user account for 'Renault', on the Standard account, so there was BOTH administrator accounts at the same time on my laptop! I realized that now only. The net result was that all the files that I created under the system administrator user were still being displayed under the user account of Renault. A few days back, I realized this and tried to separate the files correctly, but it has not been possible. No matter what I copied the account of the user in the files under the system administrator account, the files have been copied on account of the user himself.

I tried to fix this by changing the name of the user account in something very different, AND as a Standard user. but this also does not work, as all folders and files under the administrator account system shows it as being under the user account of "Renault" only!

Then, I deleted the user 'Renault' from the list of the user, but he was not yet of any help. Whenever I tried to create a new file under the system administrator, Vista responds with the message, "C:\user\Rajaram folder is not present. Will I create a new? ", which defeat the same purpose of my tent to isolate the administrator account and the user account.

SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE WITH A SOLUTION, - OTHER THAN REFORMATTING MY C:\ DISK AND REINSTALL VISTA AGAIN - TO GET OUT OF THIS MESS, IT SEEMS TO ME YOU HAVE CREATED AND HELP ME TO HAVE AN ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT AND OTHER UNIQUE STANDARD USER ACCOUNTS PROPERLY ISOLATED.

I would be always grateful for a quick and helpful response.
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your reply. It was very helpful / sorry your proposed solution has not solved my problem. Kind regards. -Rajaram77

Better to delete the user account except the one that was built in the administrator account that you renamed. Before this backup all your data files of these user accounts.
Then rename the buil into account administrator as 'administrator '. Then you create another administrator account and use it and never the user built in Administrator account and leave it alone.

  • Connect a printer HP Laserjet 4 parallel via USB using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit - HELP!

I have a new Dell PC (Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit) that does not have a parallel port to connect an old HP Laserjet 4 printer.  I bought a USB to parallel to connect the PC to the printer.  When turn on/off the printer, W7 installed an IEEE-1284 controller that appears in the unspecified list of devices in the control panel.  I "Has added a new printer", select "USB001 virtual printer USB port", then choose the correct printer driver (after "Windows Update" get a longer list).  When you try to print a test page, the 'ready' light on the printer starts to print, but nothing else happens.

After experimenting with different settings, I was able to get a page to print that says "* s1M.  I don't know how it happened or what it means.  This suggests that the PC is 'talk' to the printer.  However, I was unable to reproduce this.

HP support was able to help me, and I've been searching for an answer.  Someone at - it suggestions?  I wouldn't give up using a "workhorse" reliable printer for years. "

You do not have a parallel port on the machine.  Whatever it is sent to the parallel port device should fail on writing.   Change the port to the port of USB00n, created when you plugged the cable.  You will see the port listed in the list of ports.  This will usually USB001 when you have not all printers attached otherUSB. Hello

Gpedit.msc is not available in Windows 7 Home premium.

It is available in the Enterprise and Ultimate editions of Windows 7 Enterprise.

If you want to disable caching of thumbnails, you can access the registry editor and go to changing the location according to the value

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\DisableThumbnailCache

Set it to 1 to disable the cache

To do: Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.
