Japanese language of blackBerry Smartphones on BB
I would buy a new BB Phone, but no one is able to advise me how I can configure it to send and receive messages in Japanese and English.
I would be very grateful for any information about which model to buy and how to put in place so it can deal with the Japanese.
Thank you very much
That's right! You add additional languages to the device.

Is it possible to have the BB Curve 9220 installed a Japanese language?
Japanese reading is OK, but I'm unable to type with it. ):
For the moment, I can only use Japanese by copying and pasting the characters of a note that I downloaded. ;_;
But it is not practical.
Can someone help, please?
Thanks in advance!
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums
Yes, it is possible to install the Japanese language on your curve 9220, all you had to do is download a pack of BONES all the language and then install it on your PC, then he had to use BlackBerry Desktop Software to add the Japanese language. You can try this way:
1. download and install on your PC of any OS pack with any language or multi-language pack by carriers
- (Make sure you download for the same phone model)
2. download and install the latest version of BlackBerry desktop from here BlackBerry desktop software software
3. search your drive C: Vendor.xml and delete them, there may be one or two vendor.xml (on the change of your Pc as your records option to show the hidden files/folders):
- C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
- C:\Users\Windows UserName\AppData\Roaming\Research in Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
Once done open BlackBerry Desktop Software (7.1) > select Applications. > in the section of language and support for entry , select the language to be added to the BlackBerry smartphone (a + will appear next to the language to install) > click apply.

I just had a 8120 from Rogers in canada and am curious to know if it has Japanese language support. I can't find any info in the manual of junk of Rogers. The company that I work is a Canadian subsidiary of a Japanese company, so a lot of my email of bosses is in Japanese. I did a search through the forums and through the support database perfectly useless. The results of the search of the database of support exist mainly press without any useful technical details which I find exceptionally delayed.
Out of curiosity, does anyone know if a specific model has asian language support is available preinstalled in canada? Maybe a telus or bell phone. Since the messages of the forum by people are not displayed when they find a solution for the problem, otherwise it is not a fix for the lack of support from the Japanese language.
So my Japanese cobbled together install language does the work. I got my boss to send me some messages in Japanese and they came through properly. So my language pack install worked.
Here is the content of the ALX file to launch your own support of the Japanese police. I've also used these files of three fonts of Indonesian blackberry IDEOGRAM software installation package.

So many people understand my background. I'm not a programmer on any level, so it was not simple or easy for me to understand because I don't know anything on the blackberry OS.
I assumed it would be a good place to find this extra level of support provided by telus or rim. Of course, I was wrong to think that the people here were all useful information to share. So I'll share what I've learned to try to lead by example. Maybe if other people have done the same thing this forum could turn into what I thought I was going to find when I came here to help.
I lived a few problems with my Blackberry Curve 9300 (very slow and low application memory, etc.) and so I decided to restore the factory settings. After that, I restored my backup file but when I finished the configuration and tried to change the input language, the Portuguese file was missing (I only have English and English WE available).
I have instaled the firware once tried to restore a backup completed yet another, but nothing has worked so far.
You have any other suggestions? I am really annoyed at this...
Thank you very much
From your post, I can't say whether you have followed all the necessary procedures. Therefore, you might need, some, or none of this...
Language support on a BB is a combination of:
- Installation on your BB, a bundle of BONES which includes the language of your choice
- Including, in this installation, the language you want (two locations, I recall)
- Activation, on the BB, the language of your choice
So, please, start here... it's how you choose the package operating system appropriate for your needs:
- KB05305 Location of support for BlackBerry smartphones
Then choose your package via this Portal:
Then, from a PC, you can install any compatible OS package (for example, for your BB model number) to a BB via this procedure:
- Don't forget ICT the boxes on the screen to select components to install, ALL those relating to the language of your choice
Note Although written to "recharge" and the storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade or recharge any BB device model - depends on the operating system package you download and install on your PC. If this OS package comes from one carrier other carrier for which your BB was built, then remove, on your PC, all copies of the SELLER. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:
- C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
- C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
Don't forget that you remove, since your PC, any other BB OS devices as packages with more than one installed on the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.
If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

Good luck and let us know!
I recently received a bold 9700 on O2 UK, tried all available on the web (on this forum too), to simply display Chinese and Japanese, feels impossible on such a 'Advanced' phone on the BB, use 2 years... first time iphone, thought has a time for a new taste, didn't expect was so * beep * complicated. Why don't you just come with all languages as the iphone? I think now to swap it with an iPhone 3 g. However, if anyone can help me on would be GREAT ~ I can not even pay for it ~
PS: I really don't understand, on instructions, CD that come with phone have all Chinese as a language option, but not the phone itself? BlackBerry waiting for all the phones they sell in the United Kingdom must be British? or European? all support to Asians living in the United Kingdom at all? man, so disappointed.
You could just ask for, without all the ranting and complaining.
In the link below is the download and instructions to upgrade the operating system to the latest official OS for the 9700.
IN THE LINK, you can file titled OS version 'East Asia '.
Make a backup of your device first, using the Desktop Manager.
THEN, follow the instructions in the link.

Language support is determined by your provider. Here's how to get the language packs for BlackBerry: http://t.co/8GqdvXl
I just bought a bb9790 without BES/BIS to T-mobile (Holland). I would like to install the Chinese language input on my device. I tried to download the software for the device of a Hong Kong and Singapore according to the carrier, but the apploader shows not all applications. I deleted the vendor.xml file and I have also installed the latest Office Director, who also does not detect the software. What I'm doing wrong here.
Also, if I want to configure my e-mailaccount, my bb doesn't gives me the option to install an e-mail through the server of the company account. If this has nothing to do with the fact that I don't have BES/BIS?
Please help, I'm starting to regret my purchase...
I found a solution for the problem of detection in another forum:
In addition to the vendor.xml in regular RIM folder that contains the apploader, you must also delete the vendor.xml file in the following path: C:\users\user_name\appdata\roaming\research XML motion\blackberry\loader
Thanks to littlejackl I can finally enjoy my blackberry

BlackBerry Pearl 9105

You can connect to your DM and install language, if it is available.
If a language is deleted how can I get it on my device? For example, the Spanish language was deleted, how do I get that back on a 8900?
You need to reload the software, follow this link
I have exactly the same problem that Japanese customer, which is nothing happened after the EastAsia installed language pack.
What I downloaded 'BB site is 9000jEastAsia_PBr4.6.0_rel477_PL184.108.40.206_A220.127.116.112_PCCW_Mobile.
And I checked my mobile version, it is said in the 'about', v18.104.22.1686 (Platform 22.214.171.124)
Seems that I can't find a language pack version match, then, what can I do?
Moreover, since the os 5.0.0 is released, I wonder if there are any EastAsia language pack for that? Well, I want to improve my OS.
Thank you for your help
1. There is no official release of OS 5.0 for the "BOLD".
2. instructions for installing any OS on your device:
1. download the OS files to the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.
2. go in c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. plug in the BB and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.
The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on the amount of data you need to back up and restore during the process. Once he did load the new OS, it will reboot (it may do it twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with a hourglass up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for any reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply reconnect to the PC and run Loader.exe again and it should load the operating system on the device.
I use a Blackberry 9300 (3G, Wi - Fi) v126.96.36.1996 (Bundle 1440, platform 188.8.131.52). Accidentally, I converted the language for my Chinese phone but has since been restored it. However, in my conversations of messages, the details of the message such that time is always in Chinese. How to get back to English? Help, please!
Try to set it back to the Chinese, then back to English again.
How can I add other languages in my BB 8520, in particular for the correction of text? Thank you very much.
This can find what you want http://www.BlackberryLanguage.com
I was wondering as I went from winmo device to bb
I could read and the contribution of Asian languages like Chinese in my winmo device
but unwelcome I seem to be able to know more about this input for my storm language pack, because I have no need to email or sms in Chinese language to some of my professional contacts and members of the family, who loves Chinese sms text.
I asked a language pack from my provider of mobile phone and always awaiting response * fingers crossed
and I don't want to install "OS leaks" or downgrade my current OS 4.7
all those who have experiences on this, advice kindly?...
apologies if there is an announcement repeated
It's hard to say. You can lose some built-in applications, but most seem to be present anyway. One thing however, make sure that you download the correct version of the OS for the phone on the right (for example to ensure that if you use a 9530 in the United States, you download an OS for the 9530). I'm a little tired of the version you said just... it's a new I've ever seen. Check your messages for a bit more info.
Could someone tell me if there is no problem if I unloaded some languages supported my 8900.
I only write in English and I just want to be able to read messages in English. I noticed that each additional language use about 500ko with Turkish using 6 MB and it would be nice to reclaim the space.
Thanks in advance.
If you use additional languages you can remove them from your device.
And see the links below. Information - how to optimize the memory on your BB device.
