Java has more than 24 hours to install and always current
I have a new HP Pavilion dv6-7028TX laptop. There is no java at all on this subject. So so I'm trying to download and install without success. If anyone has had this problem and what can I do to fix this? It took more than 24 hours to install and that is 16% and the rest is pending. Help!
Hi pynk7,
I don't know what's going on, but after doing a Google search, I see many people with the same question. Most of the people are suggesting download from another source. You can download from Cnet, Sun or Oracle. You have any other problems with other sites or downloads?
Please let me know if this can help,

I use Vista and an HP Pavilion laptop. I noticed the closing down and install updates logo was so I used it and my laptop started to install 2 updates (June 18, 2011). Finished the first, it was install the 2nd for more than 12 hours. The screen tells me not power off or unplug the machine. The drive light flashes occasionally, it can come entirely for a second or two. What can I do? Surely it's far from since long to be normal and something went wrong. The laptop keys are unresponsive. The cursor has changed to the blue circle by day and cycles but will not move with the mouse or key. In the past, some updates took 3-4 hours, they have been great with more than a dozen of components, but never anywhere as long as it. I opened and closed the DVD several times, that works and is empty, just to see if anything's happening. What should I do? Should I continue to wait? If so how long? Can I really just ignore the warnings and turn it off and restart it?
1. you receive an error message?
2 did you change on your computer before this problem?

A frozen (for more than an hour) when installing Win7 updates
During the installation of updates during a restart, IQ506 froze, although few 'circle' still rotating, for more than an hour so far. Message says not to put off, but nothing happens. Where should I go from here, if I am not in power down?
A few times just to give up and put off, I look at the HD indicator, if it goes 30 minutes without blinking I give him a strong power off, if the HD is flashing I will usually let it run all night

Just ran the April updates on Windows XP.
Restarted, connected (connection to the normal domain but with no controllers available as domain is no longer in use and I don't want to mess with the settings of the user account).
Very slow to build office, took several minutes just to display the wallpaper, then icons took a minute or two each to paint. Systray icons present but being not properly painted, taskbar autohide as expected, some startup app dialog boxes appeared as expected, but very slowly, still failed to see start/programs, too slow to do anything.Have not tried any uninstall or safe mode start-up etc. as hoping that someone already know possible cause and there are so many updates to eliminate this time!
Any suggestions pls?Update - good news, seems to have fixed the
After having tried to disable ZoneAlarms (never refreshed dialogue), disconnect from the network and disconnection (zclient termination necessary), log in as an administrator and seeing office paint normally (and ZA does not seem to have been disabled), logout, then again as a user and see an empty office for long hours that had to be reset , the next reboot and the connection seems to be functioning normally. Just a waste of time that meant machine didn't get used for a day and night I waited things.
Guess I'd better try the update on my other machines now. -
"Installing Update 2 of 3" running more than 3 hours
We have a laptop Toshiba Satalite U305-S5077 under Vista Home Premium. My wife shut the system down this morning and it started to install updates more than 3 hours ago. There 'if please do not turn off or unplug your machine. Installing Update 2 of 3 "on the screen.
What should we do? Is it likely to compleate on its on?
There was a similar post, but it does not say if the system must stop or give an indication of what is a reasonable amount of time to wait, if it should take 5 hours I do not kill him 4 and to restore the system and do it again.
Thank you
It is not safe to shut down the computer during the installation of the updates. Although if it freezes you have to. You can perform a restore of the system to a point before you install the updates and then install the updates which has not installed again.
Thank you

I was sent here from my previous post as they said it was a windows problem. Laughing out loudin any case, I think I could have solved the problem. I changed the send/receive settings. In the file-> Options-> advanced. In the Send/received subcategory, click send/receive.Here, I've changed schedule a shipment / automatic reception from 30 minutes to 10 minutes. This seems to keep the connection with the assets of the Exchange Server.Kind regardsChris -

According to their release page, OS supported higher is Windows 7.

While a response from the user on the Compatibility Center Windows 8 indicates the following:
The highest operating system that can be used with MATLAB R2011b is Windows 7. However; newer version of MATLAB2012a can be used in Windows 8.

Windows Update is stuck on the screen check updates for more than an hour.

Disc check taking more than 24 hours and still going.
Hi, I've been running a disk check for what has been now more than 24 hours.
He is still only 1% (phase 1) and its currently at 85257 552960. He treats literally 1 file every minute or so.
Should it take this long?
If not, what should I do next?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Wait longer to see if it progresses. If it won't, you must consider the possibility that the hard drive itself is failing or has failed.
If you can get it booted up, download and run the hard drive test software of the editor of the website on your hard drive. There at least 3 tests that it runs. If it passes all the tests, your drive is quite likely ok and your problem is corruption on the hard disk. If Chkdsk will not work until the end, it is probably wise to re - install Win7.
If the drive fails, you must replace it and reinstall.
If you want to re - install, consider replacing the disk if it is old (like 5 years or more) and small capacity. Buy a bigger, and if its 7200 RPM, 5400. 7200 will give you a significant boost in performance.
