Java SDK (new) dialog box

Hello my fellow partners Mac!

This seems to be a common problem, whenever we have a new version of Mac OS, but I can't, from my POV, find the right solution.

Every two hours or when waking from sleep, a dialog box appears telling me to install a Java Development Kit. As I said, this has happened many times before when you Google, but I can't find someone who offers you a solution where you don't need to install the JDK. It seems that the only solution is to succumb to the demand of the dialog box.

In my case (and this may vary, I'm not sure), it is the launchd process that requires it. But I can't go further than in my knowledge of the OS. I tried to delete all the files about kinds of Java and have looked everywhere for stuff that could trigger this, I deleted LauchDeamons, LaunchAgents, all related to Java I could remove in / System / * and (~)/Library/* etcetera, etcetera, but this dialog box keeps popping up, so something ask and I cannot understand what it is.)

What I need, is not install Java. I don't like, and I think that it is an old and dangerous technology. I want to just get rid of it all once and for all (and if all goes well, without having to reinstall everything form scratch).

Anyone can shed some light on this? It's the system itself that think I need this, or is there a way I can dig deeper to understand what triggers it?

See you soon,.

Massimo

The operating system does not use Java in some way. You have installed software that only requires Java, but it must also be Java 6 legacy published by Apple (and abandoned) years.

If you don't want to install Java, you must determine what software you have installed which requires Java and remove it. From what I've seen here, it's generally Adobe software that appears to have been poorly coded to only use the Apple of Java 6.

    Your post gave me the necessary idea. I simplified the start as much as possible by defining a blank home page. • Change colors reveals a new dialog box, I've never seen before...

    Hello

    I think that I broke my Photoshop CS4.

    For some reason, when I try to change color anywhere (it could be the color of the text, or the main foreground color) dialogue with the color chart is displayed instead of the eyedropper tool, I'm used to use in this scenario. I can't click on anything else on the screen, except this annoying swatch dialog box options.

    It looks like this:

    temp.png

    It is extremely annoying and frustrating, because this dialog box tell me what are the values to hexadecimal color (even when I click on "Define custom colors").

    Currently, the project I was working on is at a standstill until I have found how to make this thing go away and let me use the eyedropper tool to change the color of something.

    This problem is new. I got my CS4 running because he is out and he has never done this before.

  • How to close this dialog box modal blocking and open a new one after a few minutes

    It's my method to display a modal dialog box:

    public static dialogue handleInactivityDialog (String msg, int [] values) {}
    Diálogo dialog = new dialog box (msg, new String() {"Yes", "No"}, values, 2, null);
    int i = dialogo.doModal ();
    If (I == 1) {}
    try {}
    do something
    Utils.popScreenForLogout ();
    } catch (Exception e) {}
    Utils.forceLogout ();
    }
    }
    return of diálogo;

    }

    After 3 minutes, this dialogue must be closed and should be opened a new. The new dialog box must be closed after 1 minute.

    I have no idea on how to do as DIalog.doModal () is a blocking operation.

    Thanks in advance!

    You can start a timertask before calling doModal, for example.

  • Downloading a file, application/octet-stream mime type, I always get the dialog box "do you want to save to save this file?" Cancel or save.

    A number of us use a private site where run us an application in offline mode. The application offers a download button so that we can take a snapshot of our progress in offline mode, a sort of backup. When we'll be back online you can either download the information from the application or we can load the backup files.

    The problem is that every time we hit the download button, we always get the additional dialog box asking if we want to save or cancel the download of the file. It may sound a little silly, but we really do not want to have to move the mouse to the new dialog box and click on the "Save" button.

    The mime type of the file is application/octet-stream, there is no file extension.

    Is there a way to change the configuration of Firefox so that this dialog box does not appear?

    Thank you.

    My apologies, but I deleted all system information collected automatically because I am not in a position to submit this application for machines where the problem occurs.

    These system are:
    14:04.3 Ubuntu LTS
    Firefox 40.0.3

    Content of type "application/octet-stream" will cause always Firefox show the 'open with' Download dialogue.
    To avoid this download, you must configure the server to send another type of content and possibly change the file extension.

  • Dialog box and anti-pop

    I'm developing a blackberry app in which I need to POP from the screen on the basis of a user; s choice via a dialog box.

    While I've used without success the syntax is the following:

    D = new dialog box dialog box (Dialog.D_OK, "the record updated successfully", Dialog.D_OK, null, 0 ");

    If (d.getSelectedValue () == Dialog.D_OK) {}
    UiApplication.getUiApplication () .popScreen (homeScreen).
    }

    homeScreen is the instance of the form, which is declared and defined in the current class. I also tried to "this". The screen appears when I clicked OK.

    Thanks in advance.

    I agree with Simon.

    InvokeLater Code sample

    UiApplication application = UiApplication.getUiApplication();
    application.invokeLater( new Runnable() {

         //pop your screen in here
      }
    });

  • Result of the dialog box

    Hello

    I have a background application that listens to a webservice and informs the user if he has a new message.

    I use the following code:

    UI UiEngine is Ui.getUiEngine ();.

    Dialog dlg = new dialog box (Dialog.D_YES_NO, "you have a new Message...

    ui.pushGlobalScreen (dlg, 1, UiEngine.GLOBAL_QUEUE);

    The problem is, I want to show this dialog only once (now the dialogues are overlapping when several messages in a short time)!  and (of course) I want to perform different actions for YES/No. How can I get the result of the dialog box, because I can't use

    int result = Dialog.ask (.);

    Find anything useful on the web, so any ideas?

    Greetings

    Dominik

    dlg.setDialogClosedListener () takes care of these two questions: dialogClosed() both marks the time (you can notice some synchronization object, for example) and gets the choice as a parameter index.

    Good luck!

  • How to freeze my application until the dialog box is closed?

    Hi everyone, I wonder how to freeze my application until the dialog box is closed.

    Please look at my code first:

    inputDialog=new InputReadMessageNumberDialog(selectedGroup.getName(),msg,numPost,choices,values);
    UiApplication.getUiApplication().invokeLater(new Runnable()
    {
      public void run()
      {
       inputDialog.show();
       if(inputDialog.doModal()==Dialog.OK){
       System.out.println("FROM: " + inputDialog.getFrom()+" TO:"+inputDialog.getTo());
       }
      }
    });

    As I throw the runtime exception, then I tried to do this:

    inputDialog=new InputReadMessageNumberDialog(selectedGroup.getName(),msg,numPost,choices,values);
    UiApplication.getUiApplication().invokeLater(new Runnable()
    {
      public void run()
      {
       inputDialog.show();

      }
    });while(true){  synchronized(this){    if(inputDialog.isClosed) break;    else wait(500);  }}if(inputDialog.doModal()==Dialog.OK){
    System.out.println("FROM: " + inputDialog.getFrom()+" TO:"+inputDialog.getTo());
    }

    She also throws an exception too. Now I don't know how to solve this problem.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you!

    Steve

    While I have deep religious convictions against the complicity of an author of the modal dialog box,

    I can say that this code seems to work and these dialog box classes are easy to use. If you

    Look at the API these altneratives will be pretty obvious.

    but there are two usages mixed with a be commented (both

    Work as much as I KNOW).

    String [] ch = new String() {"ACCEPT", "REJECT"};
    int [] vx is new int [] {Dialog.YES, Dialog.NO};.
    D = new dialog box dialog (m_tc, ch, vx, vx [0], new Bitmap (1,1));

    D = new dialog box dialog box (Dialog.D_YES_NO, m_tc, Dialog.NO, Bitmap (1,1), 0) new;
    F = d.getFont (police);
    d.setFont (f.derive (Font.PLAIN, f.getHeight () - 1));
    int x = d.doModal ();

    This will block your thread until there is something to "xx."

    However, I must reiterate that you evaluate the options before deciding that you need

    to lock all the other options. This is especially true in this environment where things

    might take some time and resources are limited.

    If you want to hang your entire application, no doubt you

    can define a volatile indicator around the doModal call and have other threads check it.

  • Shortcut key for the option in the dialog box?

    I created a line of dialog popup that emulates the default behavior of the standard throw/save/cancel prompt I see native BlackBerry apps (my code below).

    The only thing I can't seem to duplicate it, however, is that the keys shortcut for every menu item. I.e. on the native guests, S, D and C of each option characters are underlined, and press a letter to activate this option.

    Can anyone think of a way to do it? Thank you!

    Nicholas

    String [] choice = new String() {"Save", "Throw", "Cancel" ;}
    Dialogue diag = new dialog box ("Changes!", choice, null, 0, Bitmap.getPredefinedBitmap (Bitmap.QUESTION));

    int iResponse = diag.doModal ();
    If (iResponse == 0) {}
    record pressed
    If (doSave())
    System.Exit (0);
    Returns false;
    } ElseIf (iResponse == 1) {}
    Throw a hurry
    System.Exit (0);
    Returns false;
    } else {}
    you press on cancel or "back" button
    Returns true;
    }

    Do not use the static dialog box class, create your own using PopupScreen in your implementation of PopupScreen, keyChar() of substitution and detect the values of keys you are interested in.

    Where can I design my dialog box and fill in the specific data in it? Is there a guide available to create custom dialog boxes? I looked in the guides provided with the sdk of illustrator CS6, but found nothing relevant

    From CS6, Illustrator offers no SDK for dialog boxes and an SDK for signs limited. In both cases, you will need to use a third-party solution (we use Qt) or platform (WIN32 or cocoa)-specific code.

    I was wondering if there is already a way we can customize the new dialog box save slot of DC.

    I wish I could open directly to "Choose a different folder" without going through this additional dialog box (I don't understand the appeal of it, but it's not optimal for my workflow). Or maybe, if I could customize the 'Storage' options (e.g. addition of our own database files 'posters', 'Documents', etc., or maybe just pulling records 'Favorites' from Windows Explorer)

    I get the decision to have the document cloud and creative cloud as default options. It's great to share and collaborate on documents, but I'm just too many document management and too big of a database. In my situation it's just, well, less than optimal.
