FTP://FTP.HP.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi
Once it has downloaded and installed, go to start > all programs > HP > HP Scan extended > Run "HP Scan extended.

How can I scan directly to PDF? The fax windows scan utility only allows me to record on types of image files. I don't want to open a file converter to get a pdf doc?

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support. I understand you want to be able to scan directly in PDF format. I would like to help.
You mentioned that you use the Windows scanning and Fax. Have you tried to use the scanning HP and Capture app?
It is available free through the Microsoft Store. HP scan and capture.
Another option is to use the real software and drivers for your laserjet.

Scan to PDF is normally by default when you scan documents with the software.

LaserJet Pro M127fw MFP: Scanned to pdf but document converted to bmp
My scanner gives me the ability to scan in pdf; However, when I save the document, it displays the pdf icon, but Acrobot Reader cannot open it because it is saved as a bmp. I have reinstalled the printer, paid $89.99 (annual) for the Pack of PDF Adobe - tried all the fixes under Solutions HP, etc, nothing has changed. All settings appear to be correct. I have a second all-in-one HP Office Jet Pro 8600 and it does the same thing: that's why I suspected a problem with Adobe, but this installation (supposedly) out ok too.
Thanks for your reply. I uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Acrobat - thinking that could be the problem. Let's see if a fix is available.

Y at - it a shortcut to analyze more quickly. Now I have to go to devices and printers (waiting), right click on my printer (wait), then press scan.

Once there I can choose only the following file types; BMP, JPG, PNG, TIF. I really need to scan in pdf without having to "print to PDF" never doc I scan.

Color Laserjet MFP M277DW Pro: scan to pdf corrupted
I use Nitro PDF, and every time that I scan to PDF it is said the first page was damaged and has been repaired. But it is empty, no content on page 1. This will happen if I use the shipper of record or the screen. I just bought a new laptop, and there was this problem on my old laptop as well. Scan to JPEG works but then have to take the extra step to convert the JPEG to PDF and it's a hassle. Why the first page is always corrupt?

Do you have installled of Adobe Reader on your PC? (even if not used as the default viewer)?
As you can find the system requirements below, it is part of the configuration required to make full use of the printer:
Try to install it starting from the following link, then try to scan the image:
Now try to open the file with Nitro PDF, if the same persists check if you can see a difference with Adobe Reader.

My new Office Jet 8500 (A910-G) seems to correctly perform a scan to PDF, but the PDF file does not open, gives me the error message "the selected document cannot be opened" in PDF Complete.
I agree that it's a software because it works well with Adobe Acrobat. It's just PDF Complete (which was free with my HP computer) does not work!

I just bought this all-in-one printer and I cannot understand how to set up to scan to PDF. I installed the software from the CD, then tried to install the software from the web site. I uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe and do not yet have the ability to scan in PDF format. I found a post from 29/07/2014, but did not include the statement: "once the analysis of HP software, click on save as PDF." I spent half a Saturday search and try any solution that I could find, but still no luck.

Scan to PDF is not available when you use the built in Windows drivers. Since there is no software of full functionality for the PSC 1215 in Windows 7, you will need to find software of third parties to scan in PDF format.
I heard good things about VueScan, but I also suggest you do a web search of your favorite for scan software PDF search engine.

How can I get the 222dw MFP scanning via direct USB connection on the printer. He seems to want to work through the network. Printing works fine, but it won't scan.
USB cable is fine, the printing, scanning simply do not. Past 1/2 hour with HP technical support (it is hard to find, but once you do, they are useful), install the drivers somehow could not install the scan driver, did that, now the digitization of works.

HP Deskjet 3055a can't scan to PDF
I have a step scan to PDF using my HP 3055 a Deskjet printer.
I use Windows 8.1, and I am using the desktop Panel. If I choose jpg is working allright, but if choose pdf, an error message shows up after a while, advising my to verify the network etc. The network works fine and I can print and scan in jpg format, but simply not in pdf format.

4. load a test on your product page and click Scan on the HP software on your computer

How to scan from the printer control panel:
1. on the product control panel, press the button () next to Scan.
2. press the button () next to the down arrow () to scroll and select your computer.
3. press the button () next to the name of the computer on which you want to save the scan. The product scans the document or image and then stores it in a PDF file to the computer.
This scan and register successfully?
If the two methods don't scan PDF on your computer, please try loading the latest version of Adobe Reader and again test the scan function.

When I scan for PC:
JPG--> I get file names Scan50001, -0002, -0003
PDF--> I get file names Aug_ssn_GPunto_lug20140001, -0002, -0003
The Red prefix is the name of the first scan to PDF, I did, which is repeated at any time.
Is there a way to change this?

You can change, but it will keep up to your change as a prefix or you will have to appoint one by one afterwards. To change the prefix, please try your computer
- Click the icon on the desktop printer,
- Click on scan a Document or Photo.
- Click on advanced (near bottom right).
- Click the Destination tab,
- Change file name,
- Click Ok
(The same for each type).
