  I was working on a website when I moved the Panel downwards, and it happened under the windows 8.1 toolbar. I can't drag it off the toolbar because it's al the way under (see screenshot).   Looks like you have a third-party program that has been on your search engine, home page, or the value default new tab page. Fortunately, this can be solved easily:

  1. At the top of the Firefox window, click the Firefox (Tools menu in Windows XP), and then click Add-ons. Open the tab of the Add-ons Manager.
  2. In the tab of the Add-ons Manager, select the Extensions Panel.
  3. Select the toolbar you want to delete.
  4. Click on the button Delete.
  5. Click "Restart now" if it appears. Your tabs will be saved and restored after the restart.

  After restarting Firefox, install the Reset search tool. This will remove the rest of the traces of this program to your Firefox.

• HP F4280 will not scan under OSX 10.6.6

  I just installed a new MAC with os x 10.6.6. and want to continue using my hp Deskjet F4280 3-in-1.  I installed the latest versions of the printer... drivers twice on the hp website and once the full package of APPLE drivers (under the direction of the Apple help line). To start, copy and print functions were OK, but any attempt to digitize is filled with a few seconds of noise from the printer and then silence with screen message "sorry, an unknown error has occurred." The scan can be launched several applications hp, with the same result. The only thing I would use is the hp Scan Pro. It's V 7.4.5 (later).

  Any suggestions? Or if the scan function is not supported by OSX 10.6.6?

  Scanning is supported with 10.6

  If you are using snow leopard and have the HP software before Snow Leopard (either from a CD not marked as compatible with 10.6 or you recently upgraded to Snow Leopard and had the software HP on your Mac before you upgrade - even if you made a standard from the old software uninstaller or installed new software on top of it) , you must uninstall the software using the "scrubber":

  Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard / click Uninstall HP
  Click on continue
  Highlight your device in the left pane
  Hold down the Ctrl and Opt Cmd and click on uninstall< scrubber="">
  There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall all hp software. (At this point, if you continue, all HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled)
  Click on continue and let it finish

  Restart your Mac

  Now run a software update.

  Finally, download and install the "Full Featured" driver and software from the "Support & drivers" link at the top of this page.
